I was already thinking it is looking like an Irmscher and yes, it is. A very special Vauxhall/Opel ... glad this car was saved from the scrap yard and getting it restored. The car is very rare and even if it is not having as many fans like for a BMW M3 (back then and now) but it is great this car survived - it is something special and the decision of the owner is great.

I also owned a x police car E952pwu Sri 130 it had a caviler cdi gearbox in it as it had a longer top speed in Rd gear owned previous by westyorkshire police

But my friends cavalier mk2 1.3 was stolen and being chased by police at a speed of a 114mph.That was in 1989.The police showed him on there video unit.I had a 1.6 mk2 and I achieved over 130 mph on my speedo. Take away10%..I think this Calibra version would bury the needle .These cars were seriously farster than the manufacturers spec.

I achieved 130 mph on my 1.6 L and I think maybe more if I'd kept going. Real speed probably 118mph.-10%.and it would quite easily keep pace with my friends 320 BMW 1986.
@@kirisgarage8590 you prob right, my uncle had one late 80s or early 90s i think its was, he smashed it to bits it was nearly new, always remember him saying 299 now lol thats why i thought it my mistake,i drove the car its was an awesome machine.

A guy in my town had a Cavalier Calibre back in the early 2000's and sold it for £400. I didn't realize how rare it was back then.

They definitely went faster than 120 my 1.8 did 120 you could usually get the 2.0 to 130 and the 2.0 red tops to 140
