Can you please answer something for me please because I can’t find anything on it. I completed the quest with Flaude he never gave me the fire skill I was suppose to receive I only got faintless form
Thief is fucking amazing. I thought it was gonna be a hit & run class, not a stab & throat cut demolisher. Nothing like pinning something down & instantly finishing it with less than 2 attacks.
What I like to do is do a couple of cutting winds through an enwmy group to break cohesion and distract them long enough for my mage to charge up an aoe. Then as soon as the mobs start moving away from the main clump, I single them out and burst down with twing fangs.
So on the point of "helm splitter not traveling forwards,"- If you jump forwards and then use helm splitter in mid air, you'll fly forwards as you spin.
Can we all take a minute to thank fextra for the insane amount of work put in by the whole team. On day one of this game being launch they had a full up Wiki for us, a beginners guide, and a video on the 4 starting vocations. That’s an insane amount of work and content to get out in one day. Thank you Fextralife for all of the work you do day in and day out! Keep it up look forward to all the new content you’ll have for this game. 🎉
This is one of the first times I’ve seen a Fet guide and I couldn’t disagree more. I’m playing thief as a true frontline assassin & pinning everything with twin fangs & 1-2 shotting them. I haven’t used cutting wind or the cloaking move since level 5 (im level 17 now) & instead concussive step, skull splitter, ensnare & gut and run have been my go to’s. It’s very fun & easy to play thief as a front line dps, as long as you have a mage and/or fighter to back you up because they amount of damage you do with Twin Snakes is ABSURB. Just get used to holding down the y button and then pressing it again once you pin or stab a target & watch their health melt to zero or so close to it that your next hit kills them. I’ve been killing Minotaurs, Griffins, Cyclops, etc with just that setup & breezing through all the small enemies in the best/enjoyable way possible & I haven’t even unlocked all the skills/augments/core skills yet. EDIT: I still have nothing but love for Fetxtralife I just think they only showed one way of playing the thief and I want everyone to realize that they can also be unstoppable assassins with them too even without dashing & hiding.
What weight and height did you go with? I’m hoping to build a front line thief like yours to later develop into a mystic spearhand but want to know what would be better to focus on - strength vs stamina
@@ericbendicion6673 192 cm / 86 kg with 80% muscles up top & 70% muscles bottom which is really tall for most people’s idea of a thief but he’s strong enough to do major damage & light/tall enough to be faster than damn near every pawn & enemy I’ve encountered.

@walulu6531 bruh yes, I know I can 1 shot with twin fangs, but putting a powder charge on a Goblin and then letting them stand up, only to detonate it 5second later is too fun 😂
8:07 Helm splitter seriously trivializes bosses. You can tear minotaurs, ogres, and griffons to shreds in short order with it, you just have to get a feel for how to use it.
True, especially the upgraded version, if you are hitting weak points constantly you can deal some crazy damage, even if you aren’t, you are still applying elemental debuffs like burning to the enemy a lot faster than with normal attacks obv
Yeah fr, I’m having a great time with the game and haven’t noticed or spent money on any micro transactions. Only thing I could wish for is better performance on my Xbox series x but it is what it is. In single player games it doesn’t bother me as much as it would if it was a multiplayer game
Helm Splitter and the upgrade Skull Splitter is insane. It does so much damage, especially when you use it against monsters that stand upright like Cyclops or Minotaur. Even against monsters on 4 legs you can use it to deal some damage and position yourself on their backs. It definitely takes some time to get used to using but, once you get the hang of it, you will deal crazy damage.
I got Thief for my starting class. I really intent to do this game differently from what I did in the first one. Back then I tried to comprised in my first playthrouh all the vocations, all the skills, all augments, all weapons, all side quests. This time I intent to focus one vocation, master it , and roam to the end, accepting side quests as they come my way instead of tracking them. So every NG+ can be as different as possible from the previous one.
So I’ve found a decent combo for fighting large monsters. Jump, light attack into helm splitter. You can cancel your jumping light attack while in the air and activate helm splitter. It chunks but is otherwise fairly useless for fighting your regular enemies you encounter while adventuring
You can helm split into mounting enemies then ignite and use gut it’s been pretty fun on big foes. It’s a build I randomly came up with if anyone wants to try it
Helmsplitter is actually an amazing damage dealer on large monsters. If you position yourself just to the side of it and all the hits connect, half a health bar, gone.
Having played DDON, I knew they would handle the Strider solit with a graceful and practiced hand. That said, I was not ready for just how brutally vicious the Thief is. Thief is a monster, and one with a dozen different ways to play at that. Massive utility, ungodly damage (burst and sustain), stellar monster-parkour skills, solid crowd control options, and multiple ultra-instinct defensive options... The sheer amount of choice and power both rolled into this class is wild.
Tip for fireblades skill. You can spam dodge after using skill, it will cancel long attack animation in case you just need buff or you know you'll miss hits
I love playing Assassins and Rogues in RPGs and MMOs. One common, major complicstion is the speed of warfare outpacing skulking, ambush builds; limited usefulness oitside of damage is another pain point. Smoke Cloud gets around both of those. The smoke acts as soft cc and opens medium sized targets to twin fang finishers. The cloud even forced an Ogre to clumsily flee while getting skull splittered, slashed, and nuked with high levin. While most of my gaming career has been various Tenchu builds, I recommend playing around with Smoke Cloud / Veil AoE stealth. Post Script, I didn't know Skull Splitter could get "c0ckblocked" or that Quick Step is free. Gonna go test in game. Thanks for the warning. Also, Skull splitter can go forward. Ensnare is nice for breaking guards on shielded foes, in addition to dealing with flying enemies. Also helps knock over those rock Saurians so you can attack their underbelly instead of clanging off the rocky exterior.
All skills he doesn´t like together is a great knock down combo. Climb on enemy, preferably land with skull splitter on top, plant blasting powder on face, wail on him until satisfied, gut and run off the mob, detonate basting powder mid air and throw them off balance, ensnare to knock them down. Thousand kisses to finish on the ground. The only problem with ensnare is, it doesn´t properly target enemies as an opener. just wanted to add that there are also 2 secret skills u can get for theif one basically makes u extreamly hard to hit and the other does a crap ton of damage buuut can set u on fire
The helm splitter is the best skill for damage. With a mage u don't want to run fire blades just a wasted slot powder charge is also really good. Ensnare is great for flying enemies an pulling things to u. Biting wind is probably the worse skill for thief it misses a lot of the time good for closing distance tho but I just dodge in an out of enemies. These skills helped me through the game.
Wait, did they nerf Helm Splitter? It also doesn't go forward in the first game but you basically build a style around it because it does so much damage. Is that no longer the case here?
I have the money to buy the Spite daggers. I'm thinking about doing it as it would be a siginificant upgrade. However, I really wouldn't have the money left to upgrade armor for a bit. It'd leave me with about 10k left.
I found the theif to be to freakin fast in the screen. It’s cool but he’s way too fast. Is there a way to slow him down? I probably just going to switch to a warrior class and make me a guts lol
I'm playing Theif. I've unlocked Mystic Spearhand, Trickster, and the Warrior so far. I'm in love with this game already. I was trying to unlock Thew from the fighter, but it definitely has taken longer than an hour. I know that from another video you did but still wanted to mention it. Fighter at lvl 5 so far lol. Gonna give Mystic Spearhand a try next.
RTX 4090 + Ryzen 7 7800X3D... I downloaded an FG mod so I am running 4K/120 fps in DLSS3-Q all maxed out. Feels amazing with controller. Though there are some hitches here and there specially in town...
Level 30 here, this build is for early game, the OP build for thief is having the 2 master skills, one of them ignites your blades with an explosion that also damages you and the other one makes you INVINCIBLE until your stamina drains, so basically if you use both you are an invincible kamikaze that buffs your blades. Its absolutely OP and I love it, the other 2 skills I use are the double jump and gut and run, but i will replace this one soon as I dont use it quite often
I must be missing something with this skill does it just prevent damage or is it used offensively somehow? When I use it, I just loose stamina super fast but don’t see much difference otherwise.
Helm splitter is ridiculous. I spam it every second. How did u breeze by this like its meh. It drains tons of health on small or large or flying creatures, anything. Go back and use this skill. Its close to broken it’s so good….i meant great.
not sure what this guy is talking about but helmsplitter is busted, is he aware you can use it midair to maintain momentum lmfao he played it for 2minutes and then makes a "guide", also ensnair isnt just for pulling harpies out of the air, its an incredibly useful tool for making enemies off balance, something that other skills rely on too. again something he'd only say after using the skill for 2 minutes.

Wait, did they nerf Helm Splitter? It also doesn't go forward in the first game but you basically build a style around it because it does so much damage. Is that no longer the case here?
Mystic spear hand or thief? I’ve been jumping between the two classes and can’t decide
Which daggers should I try to get earlier or mid game? Thanks
I have the money to buy the Spite daggers. I'm thinking about doing it as it would be a siginificant upgrade. However, I really wouldn't have the money left to upgrade armor for a bit. It'd leave me with about 10k left.
You probably already got away farther, but buying the spite daggers was a tremendous upgrade for me
I found the theif to be to freakin fast in the screen. It’s cool but he’s way too fast. Is there a way to slow him down? I probably just going to switch to a warrior class and make me a guts lol
how do you tackle down an enemy to finish him ? i cant figure it out. i thought it was pressing R2 but it keeps picking them up
Why does my skill say biting wind? Not cutting
Can I respect my Arisen to fit Thief? I wish I could
Change my Big Buffy Knight into small thief for stamina recovery.
What settings and specs are people playing this on?
RTX 4090 + Ryzen 7 7800X3D... I downloaded an FG mod so I am running 4K/120 fps in DLSS3-Q all maxed out. Feels amazing with controller. Though there are some hitches here and there specially in town...
Is the star growth decided by the vocatiin or do the stats switch up accordingly to what vocation you change to?
Changes based on Vocation.
Perfect
anyone else here using M+K and set A, B, X, Y buttons to Mouse 1, 2, 3, 4 buttons?
using Q for Vocation Action and E for grab.
uhg no . this game is way better played on the controller.
Its absolutely OP and I love it, the other 2 skills I use are the double jump and gut and run, but i will replace this one soon as I dont use it quite often
how do you get that master skills
I'd love if you made a video about all the bandwagon BS idiots are spreading about this game.
The formless feint skill for thief completely breaks the game it is so OP lol.
I must be missing something with this skill does it just prevent damage or is it used offensively somehow? When I use it, I just loose stamina super fast but don’t see much difference otherwise.
@@GamerSerg74 you automatically dodge all attacks u are literally invincible when it's on.
I had a problem with dissapiring NPC - with one safe and frequent bugs - this game is like a lottery.
Bro I just got the game and why does a Dragon or Griffin spawn out of no where when I’m just trying to complete my quest 😭😭😭😭
Smokescreen is no joke 😂
Where do you get the armor?
do you have a build on FPS
Not having Helm/skull splitter equipped when playing as a thief is a crime
Helm splitter is ridiculous. I spam it every second. How did u breeze by this like its meh. It drains tons of health on small or large or flying creatures, anything. Go back and use this skill. Its close to broken it’s so good….i meant great.
It's unfortunate that you mentioned the upgraded names of the skills, useless for us who haven't upgraded .....
Can you not block as a thief?
No. But you get a dodge.
How to climb?
Please make a video on how to f**** use footpad skill, I cant for the love of god make it to work properly
Sleeping on helm splitter is insane. Nothing else does more dps to bosses.
Literally spin to win
I upgraded it and did a full bar of damage to a minotaur it's insane.
which is better helm splitter or Blades of the Pyre ?
Which mtx do I need to buy to make this build work?
not sure what this guy is talking about but helmsplitter is busted, is he aware you can use it midair to maintain momentum lmfao he played it for 2minutes and then makes a "guide", also ensnair isnt just for pulling harpies out of the air, its an incredibly useful tool for making enemies off balance, something that other skills rely on too. again something he'd only say after using the skill for 2 minutes.
Yeah, ensnare/implicate is my most used skill.
How is this video not mentioning formless feint? Not even gonna mention the other ability it has an op synergy with. 100% gonna get nerfed.
What's the other ability?
Chill bro, you're gonna get views.
He on the grind doing that flextra life wiki
You’re *
@mysterix-3779 thanks. I missed that. Maybe I should also change "gonna" to "going to"
@@julianfenner5682ikr some people man
It’s his job…
But can you steal shit?
Yes there's a skill that lets you steal items from enemies and bosses. Your pawns can use it too
The real Thief in this game is Capcom.
Dammmmm 😂
You must of bought it on PC 😂 sucks for you
@@itsyaboyconcept9678 Have it on PC and running 60 to 90 FPS with no issues. Must suck at sub 30 and the janky ass uncapped frame rate on console lol I do think Nvidia card users are having the most problems though so that's weird.
@@spazzticzeal6238 actually it doesn’t. Game looks amazing.
@@itsyaboyconcept9678 DD2 on PS5/XSX: 2K resolution 20-35 fps. DD2 on my PC: full 4K @ 90-130+fps.(only in the huge downs does it go under like 120 lol)
Cutting wind is trash it overshoots a lot missing your targets also the camera while using is all over the place
It overshoots on pourpouse but if you then Press a normal Attack It follows the enemy you pass through
Step 1: pay $1.99
Step 2: cry about it on the internet for sweet updoots.
Step 1: don't understand the game or previous games made by the same company
Guys it’s a joke, chill
Get a job 😂
I don't get it
I was honestly going to buy this game. But I realized I'm gonna just be climbing on the backs of random beasts the whole time. What odd gameplay.
Never watched dragon's dogma,
Shit is practically RPG Monster Hunter
Hold it its a little too much like Monster hunter...
Made by the same people my dude. Dragon's Dogma is basically Monster Hunter meets Devil May Cry, but more toned down.
Can 60 people send me a dollar so I can get this game 😭 all my money is going to baby supplies. DollarsignKildarr
