was hoping to see you play the trickster if i am being honest. however, i cannot blame you for wanting to go fighter / warrior (as that's what I'm going to do too!)
For all the people not familiar with vocation switching: if it’s like the last game, then you don’t have to worry about picking any one vocation. They retain their progress when you switch to another one. I played a sorcerer for a good chunk, then discovered the fun of magic archer and played that till I found a magic resistant enemy, then switched to a fighter to beat that enemy. All you have to do is go to a hub that allows switching.
yeah the only disadvantage of switching vocations was the stats you were gaining when level up which were bound to your vocation. So when you were playing warrior you were getting more physical damage and very little magic damage. Game wasn't too hard anyway, but someone who was playing only magic class was much stronger mage than someone who switched to mage from physical class. It of course makes a lot of sense from real life perspective.
Important note for the Sorcerer: it was shown in the gameplay that Sorcerers retain their unique ritual casting ability from the first game, allowing Sorcerers in the party to synchronize the incanting of particular spells and fire them off at the same time. So if your pawn is halfway done casting Bolide, you can step up to them and start casting and inherit their progress on it, and the both of you will cast it faster!
@@bladersnappy7446 It was an option in the first game. I don't know if it's been officially discussed/confirmed, but you should definitely be able to in 2 as well

That Sickle like weapon is a Khopesh if I'm not mistaken. At 16:30 if I'm not mistaken the Spearhand's Duospear blades would be considered Khopeshes. From what it sounds like the Warfarer would probably be at its best when all Vocations and their skills are maxed out.
Spotted it at 3:00 and came to say that. It's always great to see them in the wild regardless but it's always amazed me that they weren't more widespread in fantasy simply because it looks like something an Elf or an Orc might use.
I'm definetly going for Archer first. The Acrobatic Nature and just how smooth the animations are of this Vocation just sold it to me, i was choosing between Archer or Magick archer, but the Archer definetly stands out to me the Most, but definetly will play Both.

Mystic spearhand looks much more inspired by Vergil of DMC rather than a jedi, which makes much more sense considering the two series share many more creative members than just Hideaki

Haven't seen the Fighter/Strider (Assassin) hybrid vocation,, it was my favorite on DD1, guess it will be there ? and Magick archer, was soooooo deadly in DD1, so Fun ...
I'm definitely going to be starting as fighter. But depending on the actual utility of the illusionist... I'm probably going to end the game as it. Just sounds fun. My worry is that its only real way of doing damage would either not give xp / loot (aka cliff jumping), or would basically just be a taunt bot for bosses. At which point I'd rather just play a fighter.
Played strider and a bit of warrior in dd1. Very hyped for this. I had two mage pawns. Not sure if I want to change it up. Like the idea of the thief but at the same time I will miss having the archery.. decisions decisions
i heard it’s bad on the PS5 i believe it struggles to stay at 30fps or something like that.. if they won’t fix it then i’m probably just gonna wait until it goes on sale. hope everyone that already bought it have fun tho (:

Am I the only one who is going to see if we can equip both augments that make enemies more likely, and less likely to attack you. I just wanna see if it’ll let me equip both.
Just so everyone knoes, this is confirmed as not being all of the vocations. It's confirmed that there's more vocations from the first game and all new vocations that they haven't revealed
I was kind of hoping that they were going to add a bunch of new unique classes instead they only added two and 90% of the abilities are the same as the first game for the other classes so in other words very little is something new which is very unfortunate. I’m still getting the game but I just wish they would have pushed the envelop a good bit more this time when it comes to playable classes.
My friend tried to get me to play dd1 and I just say I could not get into it, it just seemed way too janky and i never gave it much of a chance. This game tho, looks absolutely amazing and I cannot wait till it releases and has a few reviews to confirm if it's good.
Still a bit mad that there is no higher vocation for thief. I mean...why?? Assasin, ninja or something like that. Every other starter vocation has that. So its kinda weird for me to see thief left out
I can’t decide what I’m going to play as first between warrior, archer and thief 😂 I’ve spent 3 hrs on character customisation just trying to make a decision on what I want to play as 😂 I still can’t decide
I really like the idea of climbing on enemies in this game, but also like the archers gamplay. With the archer Is it possible to climb on enemies and while mounted either shoot them with the bow or stab with a secondary weapon?
I really hope they changed the stat progression. In the first game your stats went up depending on which class you were playing when you leveled up. Issue with this is that if you want to deal good damage you have to level as Assassin for physical damage or Sorceror for magical damage. Which means you cant play the class you actually want to play unless you are ok permanently screwing up your character's stats for the rest of the game. I like Mystic Knight but in order to get the best stats in the first game you needed to go 1-10 Fighter, 11-100 Assassin, 101-200 Sorceror. It just sucks. I plan to play Fighter and Archer a lot so hopefully they fixed the stt system and I can freely play whichever class I want to at any time without getting penalized.
What I’m hearing about the whole stat issue is that now in DD2, the stats is now based on the vocation your in, not total stats. So if you want to play Sorcerer but you’ve been playing like Warrior, the stats will now change to fit the vocation.
you can change class without penalty and unlike DD1 they don't have any permanent stat changes when you level so it doesn't matter what order you play them in.
@IlIlllIIIllIIlIIlII yeah that's true but it's not just about gameplay, it's also about role playing. My character may not ever do magic just because that's who he is. Basically every other game would let me have another character so I could have that freedom
@@captainfach But trying other classes in same save file can give you variety of passive skills from different vocations for your 'non magic hero'. Your character may not do magic only if you strictly not change vocation. You don't have to respec like elden ring the game automatically does that for you when you change vocations. I think you are holding your own freedom.
1:04 “Dont play as an archer and expect to pull out a sword” Video immediately shows archer pulling out a greatsword. I know its a warfarer, was just funny.
To clarify for those who might not read your entire comment, the video clip is showing the Warfarer vocation. It was just really bad timing for the background footage 😂 The archer vocation cannot pull out a sword.
definitely going sorcerer first as it was my most played vocation in dd1. the big spells are just too epic. when playing mage/sorc, you also have control over the weapon enchants for your group. relying on pawns to handle it can be painful. in dd1 they would give you bad elements all the time and only cast a new enchant once the other one had worn off, which could take several minutes... i expect the AI to be way smarter this time, but not taking any risks 😅
To bad the game trash on xbox and pc ps5 is getting update first to fix issues crazy right oh and the game is filled with microtransactions bugged save files and more have fun :)😂😂😂😂
@@thezohan1093the micros are basically the developer winking at you lol every item in the list is EASILY accessible during regular gameplay. And no issues with frame rate or quality on PS5 which isn't surprising in the slightest that they did it better than Xbox and PC 🤷♂️. Am indeed having fun with it
PLEASE CONSIDER, the game doesn’t demand you play as 1 vocation, you are free to switch around and acquire universally great augmentations from other vocations whilst trying out their play style! The game becomes much more dynamic when you use different solutions to tackle different problems!
Are there any drawbacks to switching vocations? E.g., if I'd like to start as an archer instead of mage and then progress to sorcerer, I'm wondering if that'd set me behind on magic stats or something?
@@whyisgamora4191 idk if this will be in the case in DD2 but in the 1, the major setback was having to buy all new gear, and if it was late game, the gear you had for your fighter for example won’t work if you switch to mage and you’d have to buy/find end game mage gear. Of course it’s possible but that was my biggest challenge from the first
If warfarer let's you essentially make your own hybrid class, I'm going to make a thief/trickster hybrid. That sounds crazy. Distract and confuse the enemy with illusions and then quickly strike with the daggers through the smoke
warfarer lets you have 3 of any vocations weapons at the cost of, 3 skills per vocation instead of 6, losing your r1 skill(unique to each vocation) because that will become change weapon, and a penalty to all stats
@@napalm777It's 4 skills for all vocations, including Warfarer, though with Warfarer one of those slots will be taken by switch weapon. You also don't lose the unique vocation/weapon skill. From the most recent info, Warfarer will effectively have access to all class core skills, and 4 special weapon abilities of your choice. One of the latter will likely be the weapon switch for you, but it's not mandatory, you will just have to swap them manually from inventory.
Magic in this game looks so cool. But alas i cant resist the allure of being just the normal guy with the indomitable will and strength in a world of crazy supernatural magic
I'll be going for the warrior class first then try some magic classes on my subsequent playthroughs. I do hope Gut's berserker armor and sword are on this game.
This is the rare kind of game where every class seems to appeal to every person -- they do such a brilliant job of making each class feel unique, powerful, and interesting. It's absurdly hard to choose just one! In DD1, it was so exciting to switch between the classes/start a new save file with a new class, and I imagine the same will be true in DD2. I can't wait to dive into each of them.
Thank you so much for talking about the class progression and what you unlock when you level up. I've watched a decent amount of Dragon's Dogma 2 videos and not a single one of them has covered this.
I'm so excited to play Dragons Dogma 2. I am concerned with how fast the time is flying by though feels like the earth has sped up by like 20-40% honestly feels like it was still months away weeks ago. I look forward to watching you play DD2 as well, you are awesome man!
Every time I watch a video on vocations it becomes so much more difficult to decide which one I wanna start out with. Initially it was Sorcerer. Then Fighter, then medieval fantasy Jedi. Now I think Magic Archer. Bloody hell.

should've kept the archer with daggers my favorite in dg1
If daggers aren’t on magical archer self immolation will be missed😢😢
Wait what if it’s on mystic spearhand.. oh boy
I'm sad they didn't add a monk-type vocation.
There is no Cleric? I wanna full heal lady in my team XD
The fact that there are so many amazing classes to try out, yet you can only have one save file really is making me sad
you can change class without penalty and unlike DD1 they don't have any permanent stat changes when you level so it doesn't matter what order you play them in.
Interesting. So we will be able to spend stamina to cast spells faster?
Mystic Spearhand is from DDON T-T
"Trickster is a pacifist class"
Trickster: powers up three Sorcerers casting the entire book of revelation upon two distracted goblins.
I think any average person would understand what I was saying lol
I was dead set on playing Magick Archer but.. Mystic Spearhand looks just so damn good I'm now torn between them.
You can change vocation freely, don’t work yourself up over it
Or u can be the new vocation where u can use all abilities but be weaker overall
Yeah I’m definitely going to main the Mystic Spearhand. The gameplay looks so unique.
Exactly!! I am lost now :((
how does respec work though? when we switch vocation do i need to relevel it up?

“Dont play as an archer and expect to pull out a sword”
Video immediately shows archer pulling out a greatsword.
I know its a warfarer, was just funny.
To clarify for those who might not read your entire comment, the video clip is showing the Warfarer vocation. It was just really bad timing for the background footage 😂 The archer vocation cannot pull out a sword.
That made me laugh too 😂
Came here to say this haha, we all know its the Warfarer class but it was funny timing
That was AMAZING timing lmao well played sir@@WolfheartFPS
I thought the exact same thing KEKW
Every single class looks wicked fun I don't know which one to start with!
agreed lol
I'm in between fighter and archer... however, I'm leaning more towards the range class first.
definitely going sorcerer first as it was my most played vocation in dd1. the big spells are just too epic. when playing mage/sorc, you also have control over the weapon enchants for your group. relying on pawns to handle it can be painful. in dd1 they would give you bad elements all the time and only cast a new enchant once the other one had worn off, which could take several minutes... i expect the AI to be way smarter this time, but not taking any risks 😅
Same strider was basically two in one and why I always picked it lol. Now I have such a hard time picking
@@ryanmulder3610way more safe right?
I feel you.
But I just love being in the thick of it with a 🛡️.
Two play through minimum lol
So excited for mystic spearhand, looks epic!!
I had a feeling that would be your vocation
@@WolfheartFPS perfect combo of magic and chaos 🤌
To bad the game trash on xbox and pc ps5 is getting update first to fix issues crazy right oh and the game is filled with microtransactions bugged save files and more have fun :)😂😂😂😂
@@thezohan1093 ive been having fun playing this and rise of the ronin. sucks to hate i guess. time for you to move on to a new or old game i suppose.
@@whyisgamora4191 nope, in the first game it would hurt the most hardcore of min-maxers, but stats are dynamically allocated in the sequel!
don't tell me what to do.
@@whyisgamora4191 idk if this will be in the case in DD2 but in the 1, the major setback was having to buy all new gear, and if it was late game, the gear you had for your fighter for example won’t work if you switch to mage and you’d have to buy/find end game mage gear. Of course it’s possible but that was my biggest challenge from the first
That’s kinda trash it should just be you stick with 1 build for your play through
Ive been dead set on Thief since day 1. Its going to get personal real quick. ⚔️
Going with Archer for main Pawn.
@@val7885really a step down from DD1 in playstyle variety then. I'm sad and not sure I'm hyped anymore
damm, if true that sucks ass lmao@@val7885
That’s an awesome idea. Throw in the magic spear hand for some fun movement abilities and you got a highly mobile badass.
Magic in this game looks so cool. But alas i cant resist the allure of being just the normal guy with the indomitable will and strength in a world of crazy supernatural magic
That's how I always am too, but these other classes look really fun. I would probably default to the Thief or Archer first.
You make me wanna play with just fighter just to make it feel like an isekai.
Same here, i like to play the game as commander sword and shield and spearhead in with my group of pawns.
Warrior. Man. Big Sword.
It's the most appealing fantasy for a reason.
10:31 Yo the get back was insane 😂😂😂 Drop kick from hell😂
😂
Does the theif vocation not have a advanced class?
