I don't think I'm wrong in saying that Puy du Fou has won the "Oscar" for the best amusement park in the world for the second or third time, ahead of Disney parks and others. And PUY is another way of designating a small hill or a mount, more present in the south of France by the way. Et oui, bien, sûr c'est en France.😉
Le puy du fou est incroyable. Il faut y aller plusieurs jours pour tout faire. Il y a des spectacles impressionnants, des chorégraphies réalisées au millimètre et à la seconde prêt. Hi there! I went there last summer, and it was fantastic. the viking show was the one that made me go like "ok, these guys are mad". so, as you surely understood, the Puy du Fou (which is the name of the location. a Puy with this writting is not a well, it's volcanic hill) proposes a series of show retracing the history of france, and boy do they make it a show! the vikings were I think the 5th show we had seen that day, so me and my brother started watching at the set before the show to try and guess what would happen based on the mecanisms (like "ok, this tower is gonna fall, this thing is gonna burn). but even when you think you've got it all, they still manage to surprise you. the eagle show was amazing as well. if you go there, get yourself some good shoes (the park is build on the sides of a hill and you walk a lot). the only thing I would say is: don't go there looking for historical accuracy. :) by the way, two days is enough to do the whole park. if you want to see the night shows, though, they are not done all year long, so check the dates.
Hello Uncle D, 7:07 😅Oh my gosh, so funny. “My boss gives me ten days off and thinks it's an amazing vacation (for a year)!” In France, we have at minima 5 weeks/year (personally, seven, to take when I want). And taking 3 weeks or a month at one time isn't a problem. America is medieval! 😂 And yes, "Le Puy du Fou" is absolutely something to visit at less one time in your life. You're waited and welcome in France. Peace, folks. ☮👈😎
I made a lot of parcs In the world. Disney (orlando/paris)... Le Puy du Fou is THE ultimatum parc. Best parc In the world multiple times. I go every year .
French caribeean here i'm 50. I went to severals parcs (Magic Kingdom, Seaworld, in Orlando, Paris Disneyland and more) and honestly Puydufou in France is the attraction parc that impressed me the most in my life. One day too short to see all magnificant shows
Hi, a puy is a mountain (dormant volcano) in the Auvergne/Massif Central (Puy de Dôme, Puy de Sancy). It's pronounced like “puis” or “puits”. for Puy du Fou (hill, height), it is located in Vendée, a department on the Atlantic seaboard of western France.
In 1977, Philippe de Villiers (vice-president of the Vendée general council), wrote a poem after discovering the ruins of the Puy du Fou castle, and decided to create a show extolling the history of the region. He conceived, wrote and directed the show, the first performance of which took place on June 16, 1978.
I'm not into amusement parks but this on is quite special! At some point we're shown Viking raids in Normandy and a whole Viking drakkar (ship) and its crew comes from ***underwater!*** I don't know how they do this! Every attraction is an history lesson, the costumes and choregraphy are fabulous. In this case "fou" is the "fou du Roi": a court jester or joker.
The best theme park in the world, and without a single coaster 👍👍 You can't see everything in a single day. Maybe in 2 if you go there not in july or august, because there is less queue, but even not sure it would be enough days. If you have a year off to go in europe, you risk to never go back in US, like many american did :o)
Friends of mine from france have been there (don't know how many days) but they managed to tend to all the shows and see (almost) everything. They say it was better for them than Disneyland, the Asterix Park or Europa park.
It should also be noted that the Puy du Fou show was initiated by a politician of noble origin, Philippe de Villiers, in 1977. This show depicts the war crimes and massacres committed by the Parisian revolutionaries against a region of France, the Vendée, known for its loyalty to Louis XVI and the monarchy during the bloodiest moments of the Revolution.
Puy du Fou, one part on the Vicking, one on the Gallo-Roman period, one on the 100 years war / medieval period (with Joan of Arc), one on the 18th century (the Musketeers), one on the 19th century and with the park the "son et lumière" show on the Vendée (independent) in short you need two days!..from North of France
The problem with Puy du Fou is that de Villiers has completely rewritten French history. In his show, he explains to us how good it was under the old regime, that it was paradise and that everyone was happy, even the beggars. Then the revolution came and since then, it's been hell and everything has been going wrong. This is the propaganda of de Villiers in his amusement park.
And you are probably among those who regularly protest / go on strike / scream or cry when you get election results TODAY! Seems that your progressivism has not solved your jealousy and hate! The Ancient Regime had its flaws, but it was not as dark as depicted in biased EN teaching. It has to be compared with other nations of that time, not with our current standards. It was not worse than anywhere else, and probably better than many foreign countries. By the way, France is among the richest and most beautiful country in the world thanks to the Ancient Regime legacy. 1789/1793, May 68 and May 81 are just the successive steps toward the falliing country we are living in now!
