Yo now wait a minute! How did you get the torx bolts loose from the head without breaking them off at the top? I'm having trouble getting the one I'm working on loose and they're so damn tight it's like they have been Red loctited in place!
@@crankshaftandco I’ve done your compression test. I’m getting the 80lbs on the air rail. My cylinders are both around 145 psi. My ski gets to around 4700 rpm and only goes 25. I put in a new regulater it’s getting from 12 to 13 volts. Any idea what else I can look at? Please let me know I can’t figure it out.
Hi, if there is no obviously serious damage, which there wasn't in this case, then you have to measure the piston clearance. The limit is 0.0087 inch. These cylinders had 0.009 and were just worn out.
Thank you for the great info sir. Salute also on your tie and effort to bring this engine to tip top shape.
I just sent you an email, would like to buy those gauges form you so I can troubleshoot my GTX-DI.
Order placed. Thank you!
do you have the service manual??
What did you have to replace to rebuild that cylinder? Bored cylinder, replace piston and rings?
This one had a fairly new bottom end so I just bored this one out .010. Keep in mind a bad bottom end will cause poor compression too.

Try heating them with a torch.

@@rogermiles110 make sure your rave valves are opening around 5 to 6000 rpm. If not it won't rev up. Check you rave solenoid valve.
Do you have a video on that?
thank youuuuuu!!
Ok thanks
Thanks in advance I have the same model but my bores are scared up do they resleeve them or replace it
I've done both. You can rebore up to 3mm over so you can clean up some mighty large scoring.
@@crankshaftandco do these require nikasil coating?
@@ACsells928 no nikasil, just standard cast iron
@@crankshaftandco thank you!
What caused that cylinder to lose compression?
