If you wrap Velcro around rings and get really tight before putting cylinders on really helps with cylinder install. Velcro will slide down piston as it goes on and then can unwrap from piston. Just thought I would share really helped when installing pistons.
I approached a little different. I have xp limited. The engine is still in place. So I put the ring on pistons then put pistons inside cylinders. All I had to do is slide the wrist pin thru piston into rod and clamp it. I tried your way but it was not working well for me.
Yes it's crazy expensive. Maybe that's why the bottles are not transparent. The 518 goes a long way tho. Yamabond, threebond, and Hondabond are all the same stuff
Those are for anti rattle from what I understand. They don't seal out water from the engine since the channels should be sealed anyway. That said if water does get in there .. it will rust and corrode up the studs down where they screw into the case

That's a really good idea. I've seen people use large zip ties as well. Thanks for input sir!

Great description and diy, I see the 243 loctite, what is the other one? Also what piston brand are you using, keep up the awesome work
Follow manual but 518 and also synthetic grease. Thanks for the comment. It's running and broken in now.

Solo una pregunta yo tengo el mismo motor y soy nuevo en esto ,como se le mide el aceite a esos motores de 2 tiempo gracias
Oil is injected by a pump so all you do is keep oil in tank .. don't premix
hi, whats happen if i didnt put what 8 o rings?

Which rebuild kit did you got with and how is it now ?
I used WSM. There the best. I'm having carb issues but that kit is solid
Where did you buy the new pistons from? Thanks.
I got them from WSM via friend that's a reseller ..but didn't save much
O como le hecho el aceite al motor
That's a tidy engine mate can I send you mine and you can rebuild.mine and spray it up like that I blow a ring I belive at weekend
