- There are concerns over alleged deterioration of human rights in Botswana, ahead of the 2024 elections. The judicial arm of the AU has accused the government of using the criminal justice system to silence political dissent. Adam Smith-Anthony weighs in.

Now that the government of Botswana is demanding a higher share of the country's mineral resources as well as economic empowerment of its citizens, all of a sudden there's human rights abuse...
We have seen this scenario way too many times in the African continent. The next move will be the destabilization of the country 😢
Oh I forget that now that the government of Botswana wants a larger stake in it's own resources, as has happened in the past with other countries, all of a sudden there is human rights abuses in the country.

Why not interview news reporters from Botswana or Opposition leaders at least? Why do u have to interview a white person living far away from Bots? What could he possibly know more than Batswana living in the country. It’s disrespectful to us.

And the interviewee failed to answer the question about if there is a team to be sent to Botswana to come and investigate or this is just a baseless smear campaign with no intentions to find facts?

The South African Government is currently under investigation by the African Court of Justice for human Rights violations during COVID, how about reporting on this instead of picking on some minor allegations in Botswana?
