    Hey thanks for putting this up. I have an L 2950 and was about to do the clutch when I found your video. I did the adjustments you showed but it still didn’t make any difference for better or for worse. At least I didn’t find out after the fact that I didn’t need to split the tractor. You did everyone a real solid here.

      @@RaztechPowersports well I got it apart today and the clutch material was completely wiped from the surface and looked like a black cotton rats nest all throughout the case. I think my wife moved a bunch of horse manure using high gear not knowing any better and destroyed it. I’ll have to give her some pointers so I am not in here again.

      how hard was this job and what was the cost of clutch?@@rueliotube

    • @rueliotube
      @rueliotube 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jesseperez7253 it was my first time doing it. There is not a lot of information out there. I was able to complete it by myself. The hard part was when you split the tractor, you have to not only support both halves, but, allow one of the halves to “roll”. I put the rear on Jack stands and just used a normal rolling floor Jack for the front. After getting everything disconnected, I wiggled and pulled the floor Jack to separate the tractor maybe two feet. All in all, it wasn’t hard, per se, but I also have a lot of experience working on cars (not just brake jobs but things like engine swaps tranny swaps, etc.). So, I am not sure your level of skill. That would depend on how hard it is. I also remember dealing with the steering wheel hydraulics being difficult because of such limited access to the fittings. Cost-wise, I think I paid $1500 for the entire clutch pack from my local Kubota dealer. I found cheaper aftermarket clutch packs online, but, given the level of effort for this job, I did not want to risk having something not working right even though I did this to sell the tractor. I am not the type to pass a potential problem to the next buyer. There is reference material out there, it, you have to be persistent to find it because this machine is pretty old.

    Well I've found myself in the exact same predicament. My clutch wouldn't catch till at the top. No slack. Buddy thought it needed a clutch so we split it and yeah I have a dual clutch out of adjustment. Tractor is a b9200

    So the front and rear of a tractor are largely held together by the motor/trans? That's wild.

    • @RaztechPowersports

      Swamp Steeze Yes, there is no physical frame on the tractor. The transmission and the engine is the chassis 🏁

    I'm thinking about buying a used 4701 with 2300 hours. Already caught the salesman in a lie. Tires cost more than 100 each. Wish I knew someone who could do a prepurchase inspection.

    • @RaztechPowersports
      @RaztechPowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tires cost much more than $100 and then factor in the install... that’s a slightly higher hour machine but if everything runs smooth / no leaks, could be a good tractor for the right price. Aka cheap lol

    This is actually wrong. Those clutch adjustment bolts are supposed to be tightened in until they touch the PTO plates and then backed off 3/4 turn to set that distance spec in the book. That way it engages the pto first and then you take off. Pretty much giving you a live PTO. Mine were out of adjustment so that the PTO clutch would not disengage at all. That spot where you are checking with feeler gages is wrong. There is no way to get in and check that distance. That’s why they say back off 3/4 turn to give the spec. It shows right in the picture where the spec distance is. They give that adjustment because the drive clutch will wear more than the PTO clutch plate. Your clutch is still pretty worn because like mine it doesn’t start moving till almost all the way out no matter what adjustment you make. I think the previous guy messed with those adjustments and got it all wrong so gave up. I did it like the book says and now my PTO clutch disengagement is perfect. Tho my drive clutch is getting there. Did you check your thickness or replace the clutch disks?

      good explanation of proper clutch adjustment and operation .you have to understand the operation to repair and adjust properly.not one poster on youtube that posts understands this.all bad info.notice where the gap is measured,that is why instruction without feeler gauge counts rotation of bolt that can only be measured with tractor split and clutch installed.you are measuring the wrong end of the bolt.look at the illustration again.

    No way I’d split a tractor without throwing a new clutch in.

  • @jamesgrundwalski1615
    @jamesgrundwalski1615 ปีที่แล้ว

    as has been stated,you are measuring the wrong end of the bolt.look at the illustration ,you measure the bolt end gap to the pressure plate not the nut end to the flywheel.only measured with the tractor split.the 3/4 turn method is for adjustment after assembled.figure it out-your info is wrong
