Kubota B7200D Clutch Throw-out Bearing Change

  • Here's the clutch bearing change from last weekend. Everything went fairly smooth except at the end we had a heck of a time getting the two halves back together. This was also a "get it done" project so unfortunately I wasn't able to get everything on video. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
    Also, for those who asked, I'm uploading in a higher resolution. The medium size movie on iMovie. Hopefully the quality has improved some.
    And I am able to comment now, bit the bullet and made the account.....

    Cherish these times you spend with your dad. Let him know how much you appreciate him. When I'm working on my trucks and tractors or I'm hunting, I would give anything just to see my dads face one more time or hear him.

      Jim Garrison I try to enjoy the time I spend with him and take heed of whatever advice he can give. Yeah I'm 21 and he can get on my nerves sometimes, but I still love him. My dad and I have always been very close and have built and repaired a lot of stuff together. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't know how to do half the things I have in my videos here on YT. I'm restoring a '64 GMC 4X4 with him now, should be a heck of a truck when it's done!

    Thank you for the updates on your equipment I have finished up doing a tune up on an older walk behind gravely and the engine purrs like a cat with excellent oil pressure.

    You've got a great narrating voice. Also very skilled for being so young! You've done well with your Kubota. Quite a nice tractor.

      Thanks! My dad always jokes around, if all else fails I can narrate TV documentarys! It is a good one, was well worth it in just the stuff I can move around with it.

    You say the Transmission Main Shaft was loose in the splines of the clutch disc, A new Pilot Bearing in the end of the crank shaft would keep that main shaft from moving and SOMETIMES you can change that bearing and not take the Pressure Plate and disc off. But If your going to change the Clutch Im sure you'll do that. Nice Video!!

    Nice video. One question if You can aswer that. the strange sound from the bearing appears when You drive the tractor more then engine idling? I have a problem i just hoppe that in my case is not the transmission(it's an old kubota B7000), that's why i ask you this. Thanks.

    Good video, most people don't know about grease fitting on throw out bearing. Have to keep greased

      +Dave 508d smart man, don't get carried away with the grease gun, don't want grease on clutch disk material. Another little piece of advice, if you let your Kubota set during the winter, push in the clutch to disengage and put a block of wood under foot rest so it stays disengaged, I've seen them rust together. Some so bad the tractor has to be separated to free the clutch. Don't forget to scotch the wheels

      Well I never got the email for your previous reply, (isn't this G+ thing working out great.....) the edit thing is nice. Usually I have to delete and retype. Hey Steve, can you comment on one of my other videos, say, "Gravely model L navy tractor" from a couple years ago. I just want to see if I'll get the notification for it.

    Great vid. I'm thinking about picking up a used B7100 with 1500hrs. Any complaints or things you'd check before the purchase?

    I have a Kubota B8200. Sounds like noise from the throw out bearing but also got fluid filling up the bell housing and coming out weep hole in bottom of starter. Any thoughts. Thanks.

      Thanks Farm. We had to do this again about a year ago to re-address the pilot bushing. Turns out that was the main issue with the grinding.

    I like your videos. But I have a question of why is the pto. Handle is stuck,won’t move up or down.

    • @5Tractorguy
      @5Tractorguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd have to watch the video again and see what I said, but at one point I think it was stuck. All those levers lock into place with a ball detente and spring. Found out that a little oil keeps them moving well... go figure!

    Great Video ! I need to do the same job on a B8200 - How long did it take you for the whole job ?

    • @5Tractorguy
      @5Tractorguy  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some where around 4-6hrs with cleaning everything out inside the clutch area. All depends how easily it come apart/goes together.

    can you Grease the bearings from the outside ?? l grease up the other clutch pedal link still squeaking

    • @5Tractorguy
      @5Tractorguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The piece the throw-out bearing presses on, yes. There is a hole on the clutch pedal side of the transmission tunnel that you can stick a grease gun through and access a fitting. Only greases the shaft that collar slides on though, not the bearing unfortunately.
