It's not about making "episodes from the ground up," it's about paying the show team the bare minimum. Season 3 had a good ending. Cuphead running to the casino, starting the story of the game. I am not mad that the show is canceld but I am going to miss it anyway
If they bring it back, I like to look at it as “you had your fun being a simple cartoon, but now it’s time to get more serious and really play with the source material”. Idk, season three had some interesting self aware eeriness to it which makes me think it was dipping to seriousness.
To be honest, the dynamic that the Devil and Henchman had was what sold me to this show. Idk how to explain it, I just want to see more of them! I do sorta wish there could be another Cuphead show or movie that is more accurate to the game but also keeps some charming elements from the show.
One of be biggest misses with this show being cancelled is that it was supposed to have an episode with Evil Cuphead and Vile Mugman (If the leaks are right). Without a 4° season, now the only personification of these 2 get is the comic "Cartoon chronicles and calamaties". The problem of these comics is that they are one of the (If not the) most forgotten things related to the "Cuphead" media. If you want more of this world, there's the novels and comics, altought they take more from the game than the series did, but it is still some fine books to read.
I’m a fan of the cup head show, the animation had really looked like it came straight out of the game. By the time when season 3 came in 2022 I honestly thought that we would get more of the other main villainous characters from the iconic game series but unfortunately it didn’t came to be. Netflix just keeps pulling the plug 🔌 as always 🙄
yeah this is why im basically boycotting Netflix. If i want to watch a show, ill sail the 7 seas and just buy the merch if i feel like its good. Im that done with streaming services.
I am so disappointed in Netflix, not just the fact they left us on a cliffhanger, but how they treated the writers and artist for not paying them more for their hard work. But also not allowing them to continue the best animation that has so much potential in just previous characters to be explored more, and even characters we haven’t seen that were in the video game.
I really loved the Cuphead Show when it came out, it's really what made 2022 more bearable. There wasn't a very rich storyline and was kinda random, but I think that's the intention, and it was a really nice show to unwind to. Plus the animation and unique style was AMAZING. Never really considered the show as canceled or ended; the ending of season 3 didn't segway into the game's story perfectly imo and there were still many unanswered questions. Hoping the show gets renewed by Netflix soon! (I will break if it doesn't- 😭)
I wasn’t aware a 4th season was ever planned. I thought only 3 seasons were planned, it had a good run, and the 3rd season ended on a good note. I didn’t feel like a 4th season was ever planned or needed.
Where is Beppi ? Where is Djimmy and where is the rest? And bro there are no seson 3 just season 1 part 3 and it was full of filler episodes instead of introducing the other bosses !

They always cancel good shows (this, Babysitter's Club, and Shadow and Bone, the only show with good Slavic rep to juxtapose their very anti-Polish propaganda that is their butchered Witcher) but always keep the crap ones going (like Fate the Winx Club and Big Mouth)
Also I feel like something people forget to bring up is how Netflix OFFICIALLY RELEASED THE "SEASON 2" FINALE BEFORE SEASON 2 DROPPED. They we're doing a live voice over thing and for some reason they voiced over the finale before the release of season 2. While some parts were visually replaced by the script, it still was a REALLY scummy move.
Me too. I liked the Cuphead Show but it was more like a Tom and Jerry kinda of a show, as you said it's for kids audience. But then again, I do wanna see a bit more dark twist kind of aura like from the game so I wouldn't mind a different cuphead animated series or even movie that will be produce in the future. Hoping to see more though. ❤
This is just surprising. I always tought it ended instead of cancelled because i saw the last episode of season 3 as the finale since they showed us the casino.
im really hoping it doesnt get cancelled as i was really looking forward to season 4 and seeing what happens and if it starts the games story so im still gonna hold out hope. netflix dont cancel it
Maybe the cliffhanger was worth it. just how there were 36 episodes in 3 seasons of the cuphead show. I think to say maybe this year could be the return of cuphead show, might not be a season 4 but there is a possibility we might get a movie out of it on Netflix. well who’s knows we’re there going with it.
Man I love it now! Especially the devil and the henchman (also king dice) (because also of Bendy, who isn't here and doesn't have a Netflix series.) I also love it because of (Gabriel from) Ultrakill and Exploding Kittens Netflix show!
Crap like this is why I don't subscribe to Netflix anymore. They dropped the ball big time with Disenchantment too, not to mention Dark Crystal: AoR. Stop teasing us with good, fantastical shows just to yank them away.
OH NOOO. one of the little kids at work is gonna be so upset about this:( he was talking his head off about this and I let him yap even though I have NO IDEA what cuphead is
This purpose of the Cuphead cartoon was to capture the feeling of the cartoons that inspired that game. I've played Cuphead, beaten the Devil, and died 1060 times. What kind of "darker" storyline were people expecting? The episodes were short because its inspirations were short. Its stories were shallow and more focused on jokes because that's the classic cartoon formula. I honestly don't know what gives people the idea that this would (or should) be any different... though I'm perfectly happy to hear such reasons from anyone reading this far. Discussion is good.
While a season 4 wouldn’t be a bad idea, it doesn’t really feel too necessary for a fourth. Whether or not we do get a 4th, I’m fine with either, because it was nice we got the series while it lasted.
I even heard rumours that the leaked scripts of The Cuphead Show mentioned Chef Saltbaker as he was meant to be prominent to series 4 of The Cuphead Show
Nice use of the Star Fox music :P The cartoon was too kid-ish, I was expecting it to expand on the universe itself. But then, I was never totally into the game, it was more a very nice looking game that I used for background noise to fall asleep to (keeping mind, I can fall asleep for people screeching during FNaF).
I thought season 3 was a good end. What’s the point of continuing if Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice don’t have anything with the Devil anymore? But if season 4 DID happen, I’d be shocked, and intrigued.
It sucks how Netflix treats their series. Personaly i enjoyed the episodes i watched. I did not finish ''season 3'' cuz i kinda lost interest. I think i would have enjoyed the show more if it was more action based with also the magic bullets returning. I enjoy the goofyness. But the show is a lot more slice of life and just messing around. There's nothing wrong with that but i like The Cuphead game for the action and crazy transformations and stuff!
Correction at around 9:31. Hilda Berg actually did appear. She made a very small appearance in the season 2 episode "Charmed and Dangerous". Admittedly it was only for like 3 seconds, but I still thought it'd be good if you knew about it.
While I am sad to see the show end, at least it ended off where it is implied the game begins (I forget if this was confirmed). I would LOVE to see a 4th season don't get me wrong, but there were shows that were CUT dry, namely the Inside Job (which I was so sad about) that never even got an ending. Though from the success of both the show and the game I'm definetly hoping to see them in a future entry!
The ending of season 3 was where the game started, so the show is a prequel to the cuphead game and the dlc is a sequel. So it's not cancelled so technically the cuphead series is completed.
Actually The Phantom Express was shown in Season 1 Ep 6 Ghost Ain't Real When u See the part when the ghost chase cuphead and mugman look up left u can see phantom express showing.
True, it lacks a bit of substance but it feels like it focused more on chalice story (at least in season 2 and 3) to support the DLC that came right before the shows announcement (or something idk, its been more than 2 years no my timeline is a bitt fuzzy)
Thank god it got cancelled that show was not worth the effort I put into watching it. I only watched it because I felt I had to it being in the zeitgeist and everything. Thank god it’s over though that show was mid as fuck and nothing happened
The problem with this show was it released far too late. It took forever to actually make (just like the DLC) and when it finally released the cuphead fanbase was essentially gone.
There never were 3 seasons, just 1. So no, the "ending", as good as it was, was not meant to be the finale. That's why we didn't really see all of the bosses appear, and why the show ends on a cliffhanger. There WERE plans for more. I don't know why y'all keep insisting this was "a perfect ending".
If season 4 was in the works, i hope it gets put on another platform, as well as seasons 1-3, Netflix seems to be eager to encourage piracy with their stupidity...

Cuphead running to the casino, starting the story of the game.
I am not mad that the show is canceld but I am going to miss it anyway
Bro there are no seson 3 just season 1 part 3 and we not even get the seson 2 sadly :(
If they bring it back, I like to look at it as “you had your fun being a simple cartoon, but now it’s time to get more serious and really play with the source material”. Idk, season three had some interesting self aware eeriness to it which makes me think it was dipping to seriousness.
I really enjoyed the animation style the Cuphead show brought to the table
Would they have included the "Evil Ms. Chalice" too?? Even if not, that would have been a great episode, whyyyy Netflix😭😭
This is honestly why Netflix is trash. They always cancel shows. Why not write just twoish seasons worth of a story?
But they cancelled The Cuphead Show of all shows, so I’d call that a Netflix win

I hate Netflix now bruh Cuphead show was amazing I just think that Netflix just hate video game characters
yeah this is why im basically boycotting Netflix. If i want to watch a show, ill sail the 7 seas and just buy the merch if i feel like its good. Im that done with streaming services.
It makes me so mad when a great show gets canceled. I really don't understand why these networks keep doing things like that 😡
I am so disappointed in Netflix, not just the fact they left us on a cliffhanger, but how they treated the writers and artist for not paying them more for their hard work. But also not allowing them to continue the best animation that has so much potential in just previous characters to be explored more, and even characters we haven’t seen that were in the video game.
Netflix cancels more shows then it keeps shows
I really loved the Cuphead Show when it came out, it's really what made 2022 more bearable.
Let’s go to war with Netflix because to stop canceling original shows.
Me to Netflix's cancellation and still keeping Big Mouth (god I hate that show): th-cam.com/video/2HidvfTrY6Q/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygVDemV1cyB5b3VyIHNvbiBoYXMgcmV0dXJuZWQgaSBicmluZyBhYm91dCB0aGUgZGVzdHJ1Y3Rpb24gb2Ygb2x5bXB1cw%3D%3D
They always cancel good shows (this, Babysitter's Club, and Shadow and Bone, the only show with good Slavic rep to juxtapose their very anti-Polish propaganda that is their butchered Witcher) but always keep the crap ones going (like Fate the Winx Club and Big Mouth)
The show literally ended on a cliffhanger. We need a Season 4.
Damn, there goes the rest of my day...
I like how they made the final episode feel like a series finale just in case the show never gets renewed.
It's a shame too it is a really great show
I got thinking of Cala Maria’s character now.
I can't come to terms with this show being canceled. I still like to believe that it'll come back even though there's no literal way that'll happen
I hope it's just a rumour, but then again, it's Netflix, you could invent a trading card game on every programme cancelled by Netflix.
It’s actually a shame that the Cuphead show is cancelled.
This is just surprising. I always tought it ended instead of cancelled because i saw the last episode of season 3 as the finale since they showed us the casino.
im really hoping it doesnt get cancelled as i was really looking forward to season 4 and seeing what happens and if it starts the games story so im still gonna hold out hope. netflix dont cancel it
Netflix does that sadly, everytime a new cartoon releases on Netflix I already know it is going to be cancelled
We never got a killer King Dice musical number and that's a crime. His song was the best in the game.
And we never get Beppy ,Djimmy or Hilda in full episodes
Maybe the cliffhanger was worth it. just how there were 36 episodes in 3 seasons of the cuphead show. I think to say maybe this year could be the return of cuphead show, might not be a season 4 but there is a possibility we might get a movie out of it on Netflix. well who’s knows we’re there going with it.
They cancled ALMOST EVERY ANIMATED 2D SHOW THIS IS THE WORST YEAR YET
Man I love it now! Especially the devil and the henchman (also king dice) (because also of Bendy, who isn't here and doesn't have a Netflix series.)
I also love it because of (Gabriel from) Ultrakill and Exploding Kittens Netflix show!
Oh yes cancel cuphead show and make more velma, because thats what everybody needs.
Really sad that ıt got cancelled hope they brıng ıt back atleast some tıme later
Crap like this is why I don't subscribe to Netflix anymore. They dropped the ball big time with Disenchantment too, not to mention Dark Crystal: AoR. Stop teasing us with good, fantastical shows just to yank them away.
OH NOOO. one of the little kids at work is gonna be so upset about this:( he was talking his head off about this and I let him yap even though I have NO IDEA what cuphead is
The way I saw it it just had a nice 3 Season arc and there didn't need to be more unless the creators felt like doing more.
9:34 Hilda burg did appeared in the Cuphead show
Although it was only 2 seconds
Ok so we didn’t even get Cagney carnation 😭
This purpose of the Cuphead cartoon was to capture the feeling of the cartoons that inspired that game. I've played Cuphead, beaten the Devil, and died 1060 times. What kind of "darker" storyline were people expecting? The episodes were short because its inspirations were short. Its stories were shallow and more focused on jokes because that's the classic cartoon formula. I honestly don't know what gives people the idea that this would (or should) be any different... though I'm perfectly happy to hear such reasons from anyone reading this far. Discussion is good.
9:33 /Technically/ Hilda Berg is in the show, but just as a quick cameo.
While a season 4 wouldn’t be a bad idea, it doesn’t really feel too necessary for a fourth. Whether or not we do get a 4th, I’m fine with either, because it was nice we got the series while it lasted.
I never seen it but Netflix will cancel amazing stuff and then milk the most dumbass shows
Werner Werman best Cuphead character
Everyone there's still hope
NOOOOO! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!
I even heard rumours that the leaked scripts of The Cuphead Show mentioned Chef Saltbaker as he was meant to be prominent to series 4 of The Cuphead Show
Nice use of the Star Fox music :P
The cartoon was too kid-ish, I was expecting it to expand on the universe itself. But then, I was never totally into the game, it was more a very nice looking game that I used for background noise to fall asleep to (keeping mind, I can fall asleep for people screeching during FNaF).
9:33 Actually she got a 2 second cameo in Season 2, she was in the sky while all 3 mugs were driving.
it was abvious since season 3 released, the ending lead to the game instantly
I thought season 3 was a good end. What’s the point of continuing if Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice don’t have anything with the Devil anymore? But if season 4 DID happen, I’d be shocked, and intrigued.
I heard Hilda berg was supposed to to have her own episode in season 3 but got canceled cause they didn’t have a voice actor to match her
It was obvious that the creators wanted to make the show look 1930's-like but Netflix said "nuh uh"
I don't think it's cancelled. Some people working on the show talked about some of the eps they were working on at the time.
Source? (I need this for hope)
Hilda is actually seen in the show AND when cuphead says “You know what you did Jimmy/Djimmy!”
Nooo... Come on it was going so well. I was so excited for season 4.
Isn’t it weird how they’re canceling the best shows and leaving garbage like big mouth get more seasons
The show was a wasted opportunity. It could’ve been something akin to those Bendy shorts. Those were amazing and gave the old timey feel.
One question thats always lingering in my mind is like
Why do they live with their grandfather?? What happended to their parents?? But thats just me
WHYYYYY WHYYY I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCHHHHH
True, it lacks a bit of substance but it feels like it focused more on chalice story (at least in season 2 and 3) to support the DLC that came right before the shows announcement (or something idk, its been more than 2 years no my timeline is a bitt fuzzy)
Literally was just talking about Dazz and then I get notified this... TH-cam is listening
I will miss it
It didn't end it just stopped where the game began. So if you want to continue the story the game is your best bet.
I recently was watching clips of this show.
Thank god it got cancelled that show was not worth the effort I put into watching it. I only watched it because I felt I had to it being in the zeitgeist and everything. Thank god it’s over though that show was mid as fuck and nothing happened
Cope! Harder!
I think Netflix are fools to let this go THEY NEED TO REALLY RECONSIDER AND BRING IT BACK ASAP
The problem with this show was it released far too late. It took forever to actually make (just like the DLC) and when it finally released the cuphead fanbase was essentially gone.
Damnit Netflix renew this gem.
The Cuphead Show is show my favourite show of all time, my second is SpongeBob, the animation, the writing, it’s just perfect.
The devil has WAY too much screen time imo
I’m gonna cry
