Valerie Perrine's portrayal of Honey Bruce in 'Lenny' was Oscar calibre! Too bad she never got the recognition for that role. She's also incredibly easy to look at naked! 😍 One last thing, 'Lenny' was directed by Bob Fosse, whose name is pronounced (Fos-See) and is only the greatest choreographer in Broadway history, with an immense background, so I would think you could pronounce his name properly.
Slaughter House Five, was a very unique movie, ahead of its time in science fiction time travel genre. Valerie was definitely a memorable and integral character , only she could have played. Sometimes, being a "military brat", hobbles your true personality and goals because of the awkward socialization and military environment . However, it appears Valerie did her best to overcome this and successfully chase her dreams.
I liked her and thought she was an amazing intelligent woman I wish her Good Health and just want thank her for all her superb acting She was and still is Cool!!
I am almost her age and remember her well. I'm a big fan of Kurt Vonnagut and loved her in Slaughterhouse Five. But this mish-mash barely mentioned Superman where she ably supported Gene Hackman in the funniest parts of that movie. She was the straight man when Gene said his missile would destroy Hackensack, and she says " my mother is in Hackensack", and Gene just shakes his head.
Also, I love that the original assumption when you first see her as Miss Teschmacher is that she just Lex's beautiful but dumb girlfriend. But throughout the movie she has these scenes where her high intellect is clearly on display.
She never married nor had kids. She revealed (no pun intended) that she was engaged to be married but that the guy was killed in a shooting incident just a few weeks before the wedding. She never made it to mega stardom but was always a character actress. I never knew she appeared in a James Bond film! She has a great cameo in Electric Horseman as Robert Redford's ex wife.
Yes remember her fondly in many 70/80 picture's being that of "The Electric Horseman", "Superman I & II", "Cant Stop the Music (1980)", "In Love with an Older Woman (1982, TVM)" and in cameo un-credited Police Officer that bust's Adrienne Barbeau for speeding in "The Cannonball Run (1981)".
Oh, Yes !!! Valerie Perrine, was one my secret Dreamgirls, many years ago. A very special and Beautiful face, that yo never forget, and a Great Actres. I could have writen sooo much here, but let it be with these few words! Love and best wishes from Norway!
Valerie is 9 1/2 years older than me,but I remember watching her in these TV shows & some of the movies. To say she was a beautiful lady is an understatement! Thankfully she wasn't the uptight type, & wasn't ashamed of her beautiful body & wasn't afraid to show it to the world! I know I sure enjoyed watching her!❤
Where can I get a job reading a poorly written marginally researched narrative delivered in a monotone voice void of correct or appropriate verbal inflection? This one's a totally pedestrian production.
In the bio I heard you say Valerie's birthday is September 3rd, well mine is the first of September. I know she is older by like eight to ten yrs, but still when I first saw her as a youngster I fell in awe, love, and adornment of her. She had that girl next door quality, of Tom Boy, bombshell, your buddies older Sis, the smile, and of course that smoking 🚬🚬 hot Figure. Vava, Vava Voom, old old gesture. Anyway I wish her the best, and send my love too her. She gave me many a pleasant nites sleep. Thanks. Wyo, Robert, 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🙌🙌👍👍🌈🌈❤️❤️❤️❤️🤳🤳🤳🤳🌹🌹🌹
I wish these narrators would check the words and names they pronounce (incorrectly mostly) to wit: the name is not Bob "Foss" but Bob Foss-E....get it ??? And not bi-oppik, it's Bio-pick !!!
@jan deen Has anyone ever told you that you're "Fossy" - fussy? ----------------------- * Just kidding * . -- I simply couldn't resist the beguilingly silly-sounding "'Fossy' - fussy" (And your pointing out the mispronunciation of "Fosse" is completely legit.).
Believe me, in the 70's she was a household name. Everyone knew her name. A beautiful and talented actress.
Indeed, and she had a very recognizable face and distinct look.
I fell in love w/ Valerie Perrine seeing Slaughterhouse 5. A great actress and a natural, sensual beauty. WOW

amen!!
I almost forgot Honey Bruce!
She did get recognition, she was a oscar nomination for the role of honey.
She has that spark and glow that many wish for but very few attain. A kiss from the heavens.
I loved her ever since I was a kid, I think the first time I saw her was in the movie "Slaughter House Five". Then Lenny Bruce.

Valerie is very much Remembered in My House !!! She Rocked Every film she did ! Wish she was my neighbor now !! J D
Valerie was not in that James Bond movie. That was Pat Gill. She confirmed this on her Facebook page on July 8th
Very underrated actress.
I remember her in Superman she was great. Interesting clip.
I was always just struck with her warmth that showed thru even when she tried to hide her true nature.
I was a little kid when I saw her ( .)(. ) in Superman (1978)!!.. She was perfect for that role along with Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman..
She was extremely likable, and ultimately seemed to be a professional.
"Perrine rhymes with wine," as she herself said in After Dark magazine. Otherwise, a sublime review of Our Valerie. xx
How could you leave out her biggest role in Superman?!!!!
Awesome video

Always liked this one
Very pleasing woman, thanks.
Bob FossEEEEE. Otherwise good show. Did I miss the Superman movies where she played Miss Eve Teschmacher?
I think she is amazing strong. I always love her
Billy Pilgrim was one lucky guy!
She was beautiful in Cant Stop the music
Awesome I remember her in superman.

She was a topless dancer in Vegas. Then she gets famous & is suddenly against using her body. The very thing that made her famous.
Had drinks with her at Green Cafe in Hollywood. Wonderful smile.
I saw her in The Border and she was great opposite Jack Nicholson playing his ditzy wife.
Valerie Perrine had a great body. That's all I remember about her. Sure she had a lot of talent.
I remember her well.
She's a household name in my household.

Who could forget the fine miss perrine ?
Bob Fosse...NOT FOSS. Do you people ever do any research or editing???
I thought Valerie pronounced her name PUR-REEN.
That is what I remember.
miss Tesssbacher.............
Valerie in the geodesic dome on the Moon...which movie?
@John Rogan
It was not the moon, but the planet Tralfamadore -- and the film was "Slaughterhouse Five" (Based on Kurt Vonnegut's striking novel.).
Tralfamadore ...and furnished by Sears!
She's had me since Slaughterhouse Five!
I wish these narrators would check the words and names they pronounce (incorrectly mostly) to wit: the name is not Bob "Foss" but Bob Foss-E....get it ??? And not bi-oppik, it's Bio-pick !!!
I believe that she might have been in the first Superman film back in 1978.Anyway,she had very nice thighs.
Too many grammar and pronunciation errors for my taste. Must be read by a robot.
I dated her in HS; Phx Az 1957
Purr enne...thought it was purr rhine
Pronounced Fossy.
@jan deen
Has anyone ever told you that you're "Fossy" - fussy?

eh super nice body, never seen her movies.
She was and is a household name at my house!
Generally well-written copy, but erratic, ill-spoken (with many mispronunciations) robo-voice.
She’s wasn’t in Diamonds are Forever. I know because I’m her best friend.
