    So glad to hear that the visitor center will still be open during the renovation! What an exciting time to be a member of this church!

    I hope they broadcast the re-dedication to the Church worldwide!

    Even though I'm no longer a member this building holds some sentimental value to me. My great great grandfather Truman O Angel was the architect and was very talented. I wonder if he had not been lds would he have still designed beautiful buildings like this. I guess I will need to make sure I attend the open house because I will never be allowed inside again.

      Steven, your great great grandfather, Truman Osborn Angel is an inspiration, to this day, for many people, both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and those who are not. I hope that you do attend the Open House and enjoy what is done to bring this magnificent edifice close to its original design, on the interior, and of it strengthening of the foundations and walls. I wish you well with what ever comes your way. BTW, I am from the Osborn family and I have been trying hard to see if your great great grandfather is any relations, due to many of middle names were chose from the mother's maiden name. Although I haven't found any relations I am still looking.

      Steven C it’s no wonder your great great grandfather’s last name is Angel 😇 Steven God is real and He loves you, no matter what. Wishing you peace and happiness

      Why can't you come back and go through the temple .the essence of life is growth and to become and to overcome. A baby can grow up and become an adult we can grow up and become like our Heavenly Father. I am only one and the Father of my children that does not mean that there cannot be more fathers it is mans weaknesses that keep us from God as we overcome our weaknesses we become more like our Heavenly parents. God bless you and give you of his love .

      Steven C, What a wonderful heritage you have. Thank you for sharing. When I was a teen, I was often without a place to spend the night. I would sit outside the outer walls of Temple Square and look at the Temple with a future desire to one day enter into the walls of this beautiful building. I never knew that the beauty of the work inside would be even more precious. I don’t know the circumstances that you feel will never allow you to return inside, but I sincerely hope that you will. I have made so many mistakes in my life, but like the son’s of Mosiah and Alma the younger, God did “snatch me back”. I say to you: Allow him to do the same to you. The blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ is more transformative than I ever realized. If possible I would be honored to join you my friend!

    Ok LDS Faithful here's a good question for you that has crossed my mind. How does the prophet take the sacred seal off the temple soo they can do all the renovations?

    • @MrNirom1
      @MrNirom1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brian Massey - Temples are not Undedicated - Renovations begin and when all completed... they are re-dedicated.

    • @blakesharette26
      @blakesharette26 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      brian massey You think God would be like “oh, sorry, once it’s sealed it’s a done deal and you can’t make any renovations... sorry but it’s the rules” lol. Of course it’s acceptable to God for them to remove the seal. How else would they be able to make renovations and such?

      Simple with a patriarchal prayer and after the temple is done it will be replaced after an open house the same as with any other temple.

      "which" ones, not "witch" ones.

      It's the big Dipper, one of the stars on the top is Polaris aka the North Star. Polaris has been used by sailors and star navigators for thousands of years to navigate correctly to their destinations. Also, every star rotates around Polaris in the sky. The constellation on the temple which includes Polaris is supposed to be symbolic of how the Priesthood also orients mankind toward salvation and the right direction.
      Also there are moon stones, earth stones and sun stones each representing the telestial, terrestrial and celestial spheres in the heavens.

    The "time of the gentiles" is over. Period. The Lord told us that "not all of the generation of MEN STANDING who see this sign happen will pass away before the end..."
    There isn't another "hundred years" sister...This is being done for the "next thousand years"...

    Cant take pictures or videos inside the temple, but there's literally a full scale model in a display case showing all the rooms.
    So wheres the logic in that?

      Are you hungry? Come here to my house and I will feed you .I love you and I want you to have all the things of God. You do not build the weak by tearing down the strong
      .you help people overcome themselves so that they may have more .if you want more you must become more. I had polio when I was two. I have done a lot with overcoming my weaknesses God has been very good to me .his grace is safishent. May you become more and have more in this life and the life to come .it is better to teach people to fish not be dependent. I love becoming more. God bless you.

      That is a way good point, just dont forget the church already puts about 40million per year into welfare projects and so far the total is over a billion. So although this renovation will be expensive I feel like they haven't neglected their humanitarian responsibilities in lieu of that. www.deseret.com/2016/7/12/20591934/lds-church-welfare-humanitarian-efforts-average-40-million-per-year-apostle-says

      George Kolb Are you just going to ignore the $40million or so that the church gives annually to humanitarian aid? What have you done?

      The church does a lot for homeless people. Why can’t they do both? Why don’t you only give to the homeless and not do anything else?

    Pure materialism. Would the Christ of the Bible want even ONE CENT spent on luxurious buildings when there are billions of children in the world who are going to bed starving and cold tonight?

    • @vendingguy47
      @vendingguy47 5 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Christ would want His people to worship in temples as was done anciently. I come closer to Chirst because of what God teaches me in His Holy House.

    • @jeanettecoons4062
      @jeanettecoons4062 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Those buildings belong to the Lord, our Father. It is our duty to preserve and protect them, much as we would our own family homes in time of any need or distruction. As far as feeding and caring for needy children, our church leaders, with the help of it's member's tithes, feed and clothe more families in the world than you or I will ever know. How much do you, or I , personally give to the starving, cold, or needy around us?
      And if we do, good for us.

      The temple is a very sacred house of ordinances. Its purposes are only to bless those that have passed on to receive the sacred gift of membership and sacred blessings. It's TRUE value is beyond this world that will benefit their eternal salvation.

      Amazing... Judas said the exact same thing! It is what caused him to betray the Lord!
      Mary broke the oil and anointed Christ's body and Judas was wroth (because the oil was worth a whole years worth of wages) and said "could this not have been sold and given to the poor?!"
      To answer your question, yes, the Christ of the Bible WAS okay with someone pouring a whole years worth of money in oil on his head and feet, and that fact upset Judas enough to betray Him to death...
      Facts...

      Christ was rich as heck . THere wasn't anything anyone wouldn't have given him. All he had to do was ask. He was abundant. You don't build an organization with ugly impoverished architecture. Jesus knew we all could live abundant lives when we focused on living by his example... Being wealthy isn't wrong. Being obsessed with money is....
