Arccos should bring out a laser range finder and combine it with their gps data, and show a course map - just like the Garmin laser range finder that does this.
So is the GPS getting its yardage from where the phone is, or where the Titan is? Since it is connecting to the phone app, I have to think its getting the yardage from the location of the phone. Which if true, I gotta say is a bit disappointing because I usually leave my phone in the bag or in the cart. I guess for people that keep their phone in their pocket it won't be a big deal at all.
If the phone has the data, the connected rangefinder should have a sensor to determine the location from which the measurement should be taken. The maximum distance the phone can be from the rangefinder might be an issue via Bluetooth (30 feet).
It comes from wherever the phone is…tested it yesterday at the course accidentally…was playing at a course that has three courses, red, white, and blue…I accidentally indicated in the app I was playing the blue when I was playing the white…hole #1 is a 150 yard par 3…I lazed the flag, 150 yards….hit the button for front, middle, back, and got 308 yards???? That was the ranges to the 1st hole on the blue course, next to where I was playing…

In other words, the phone provides the gps distance to the static pieces of the puzzle (the front and back of the green), triangulates where the range finder is, and provides those numbers to the range finder. The range finder can then laser the flag, giving all three numbers.
Haven't ever used a rangefinder before, I've only ever used GPS data. I love that this had laser and GPS capabilities with front, middle, back distances. Thinking about getting rid of Arccos, its takes way too much energy to fix all the missed shots.
I have the NX9 and my two gripes are: 1. When there’s light rain or fog, the laser isn’t able to give me distances. 2. I use my phone to get front and back. It’d be nice to have that in one spot. Have you tested any range finders in rainy/foggy conditions?
I would say that the Cube did "bring something new to the table" in the rangefinder market. Have you reviewed that one yet? I see that the Voice Caddie LaserFit also has something similiar. I'd love to hear what you think of that type of tech. Thanks Sean.
Was going to go the Garmin route but decided to go with this. Garmin's ecosystem, while strong with the club tracking, range finder and watch is quite expensive. This one does what you need, and even tracks the clubs. Which leads me to my question...you didn't mention the use of the clubs with the software. Any particular reason? Was curious as to what your thoughts were because if I'm correct, this device can track yardage, etc. with the GPS as you select the club that was used. Correct me if I'm wrong, but would love to hear your thoughts on this and perhaps a follow up video. I'm not sure there's a better range finder on the market than what this one offers. Also, it offers up to 999 yards of coverage. Not sure that was brought up, but certainly exceeds many of the range finders out there.

I think for someone like me who is primarily an Arccos user, and who uses a Rangefinder for verification/supplemental type data the Cobalt is going to be the better pick. But if you don't use Arccos or something like it, this is probably 1000% the jam.
I am really looking for a range finder to add the gps data all in one spot so this almost sounds perfect. Does it display both at the same time or do I have to flip back and forth? How does the Bluetooth work if my phone is also playing music through a Bluetooth speaker? That might be a deal breaker

Yes! I've been able to get it working together. I just make sure to set up my round in Arccos first, and that seems to alleviate the issue. That said, for me personally, since I've got the GPS within Arccos, you might be better off with a standard rangefinder, to avoid the extra hassle of pairing and having to use multiple apps at once.
@@breakingeighty That’s good news…My problem is my eyes…can’t read anything very close anymore (watch, phone) without readers…so, it’s nice to have all the data in the viewfinder (pin, front, middle, and back). Been using the Z82, but my only challenge with it is the target is tiny and unless you have sniper’s hands, it’s hard to lock onto the pin outside 100 yards for me…I used to use the Arccos with my Apple Watch Ultra, but that’s even hard to see now, and I’m currently testing the DeWiz, so wear that on my left wrist…looks odd having something on both wrists! LOL…So, been using the Arccos link and just looking at it post round to see my data…my ideal rangefinder would be: 1. Pin, front, middle, back, slope; and 2. Stabilized!

Did you have to continually open the app for it to reflect the correct holes front , middle back , back numbers? Or were you able to open the app, put your phone away and get seemless yardages for front, middle , back throughout the rest of the round without accessing the app again? Thanks
I really want to say I'd go with the Bushnell. Because the perception is certainly that its the best rangefinder on the market. It certainly feels better built (despite the fact the Titan build quality is very good), and the display is much better. I like the fact it has such a good red LED display. But I feel like Bushnell is slipping. This past weekend I was using my original Pro X3 (not plus) along with the Titan. And the red LED stopped working properly on it Black is fine, but the red doesn't show up properly. I think the new Wind feature on the Plus is gimmicky and gets in the way more than it helps. And everything I've heard is that if you have issues support is non-existent. So yes, the X3+ is the superior product in many ways. BUT. The Titan is a joy to use, the GPS works very well and genuinely brings something new to the table, and customer service is fantastic. All that to say, if they were the same price I'd probably just barely give the edge to the Bushnell - but for one specific reason. Because I personally use Arccos and a Garmin watch - I don't need the GPS data. For as nice as it is in the viewfinder, since I already have it in 2 places, I'm not going to use a 3rd GPS app most of the time. If I had a more personal need for the GPS, I'd go with the Titan. And the fact we're even having this conversation at all is wild considering how much cheaper the Precision Pro is. For most people, at $200+ less, I think it's the clear choice.

Great question, and they're actually pretty different products. The Precision Pro is basically your standard laser rangefinder, and it can beam basic GPS yardages to the device. The Garmin on the other hand doesn't use traditional optics. While it is also a laser rangefiner, it uses a computer screen similar to the EVF on a mirrorless camera. Because of that it can provide a whole lot more data including hazard distances, the ability to keep score, and more. The downside to this is the screen is a little laggy, and if all you want to do is use it as a basic rangefinder, it can feel like overkill. With the Garmin I end up spending a ton of time in the rangefinder, which can detract from the round. Whereas with the PP, it doesn't necessarily take my that much longer to use than a regular rangefinder and I can get those GPS distances along with the actual lasered pin distance.
So it this worth upgrade over NX-10 Slope? We have the R1 and having issues with it. They offered to replace it with the NX-10 Slope. I told them it doesn't have the same features as the R1 or Titan Elite. The refused to upgrade to the Titan Elite said the R1 replacement is the NX-10. So do we sell the NX-10 and then get the Titan Elite or stay with the NX-10? Thanks
I think it depends how much you value the GPS features and if you have another GPS device you use. If you've already got an NX10, personally I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade - as the NX10 is still great. But if you don't use any other golf GPS, having that extra data is really nice. So if debating between the two, and I didn't already have one, I'd go with the Titan Elite.

I just use my garmin watch for GPS and my rangefinder for lasered yardage. It works well for me.

If you are using it in slope mode, and you use the GPS to get front middle and back yardages, is that slope adjusted?

Don’t know if you mentioned it, can you connect it to an Apple Watch instead of your phone and would it display the gps on the watch?
