Feel like this should be a new mini series in itself. Rick brings his tour pro friends to this course to see who can shoot under par. It’d great to see bigger and bigger names attempt this. Plus a nice little boost for the course too.
How respectful is Ryan? Asking Rick if it was cool to record a video for himself. Knowing he’s on someone else’s channel he thought to ask. I like that.
I wish the PGA tour would adopt this style of course. Less distance, tighter fairways. Bring more creativity and shot shaping back into the game instead of just who can hit it the furthest
Why do that when you can just completely change the ball and create a huge division between the amateur and professional game? I agree the courses don’t have to be 8,000 yards to be a real challenge
Good point blue. We have all played those 5000 yard courses with narrow fairways, big dog legs, and the odd tree placed where it has no business being haha. But they are fun and challenging.
Ryan seems like such a cool, humble, genuine guy. So much fun to watch the videos he's been in. Let's get him on more often! Maybe for a "normal" Break 75 with you and Guy? I'd love to know what his target number would be! :) :)
What a great guy Ryan is. It's ridiculous how well he knows his own game and the conditions he is playing in. Keep making content with this bloke Rick , what you have done so far is a real eye opener into the mindset of a tour pro.
I think this is one of the best videos you’ve done in a while. Watching professional level golf with Rick’s professional level narrating, commentary, and sausage roll reviews makes for a very engaging video to watch. Loved it! Ryan is pure class as well.
What a really enjoyable round with Ryan. This looked a really tricky course, and to have had no previous experience playing it speaks volumes of this mans talent. Thanks again Rick to you and the team for providing your followers with brilliant relatable golf.
I was a member at Pastures for a couple of years while at uni in Derby in the naughties. First day, I was surprised when a member told me no one had ever broken par. Many years later I couldn’t believe it when Rick first filmed there. 1) little Pastures Golf Club was getting this incredible exposure and 2) all that time later and, still, no one had broken par. Having watched this video and the James Robinson attempt though I understand why it’s only happened once. Fair play to everyone at Pastures for supporting these videos. Everyone I met there was really lovely and this has brought back some great memories (and a few nightmares).
This is awesome. I love all the folks there live walking the course with Rick and Ryan. What an awesome community you have built Rick, I can’t wait to watch your content each week!!!!
This was brilliant! loved it. I bet the locals are pleased that Ryan didn't quite get there. Keep the intrigue of the course going. There's a money opportunity for the club here too. Well done for another great video.
Love these challenges on small technical courses with the Pros ❤ Rick I play at Marston Lakes just up from The Belfry and we're a Par 62 course, small and technical like Pastures 👍🏻 You probably will never see this but if you and your other pro friends are in the area come give us a visit and smash the lights out on a course record 🔥
Gotta keep this challenge going,so many guests available and out there, help each other out.. Pete, Matt, Andy, James,Bully..so many.. great video Rick, lovely course
This is the course I grew up on! Spent so much time after school mucking around on the course, absolutely surreal seeing you and these tour pros take it on. Love it Rick!
I don't think I would've stuck with golf if I had to learn to play on this course 😅 Looks amazing out there. Would love to cross the pond and play the courses in the UK.
@@civilwarwasaninsidejob7405 There were definitely some moments that it made me question my existence, but also very fun. If you take driver on some of the holes you can get it up near the green, but mostly you're chipping out from under trees.
Great to see a different sort of course and challenge and Ryan seems a genuine, humble chap too. 10:12 - if you think that's a mud ball then I can show you a lot worse!!😂
I've been in those trees so much! Rick's timing hasn't been great either time, once it's wet at the Pastures the greens slow right down as Ryan experienced. Great video guys, will be playing 9 there on Sunday with no danger poses to the record 😂
You can see why it is a difficult course. Trees everywhere, tiny greens, long par threes and unpredictable greens. Ryan played well enough to beat the record, but just needed some putts to drop and possibly slightly better conditions. Well played Ryan!
Another great video with Ryan! It's amazing how narrow and tree lined the Pastures is and how a player of Ryan's caliber can have difficulties playing it. Thanks for sharing!
Really enjoyed that, what a nice lad Ryan is. He was so unlucky with so many of them putts. To get so close without even playing it before was class, tough ole course.
Ryan is a class player and a class bloke too, love these videos with him. Would absolutely love to see what one of the very very top tour pros (Rory, Scottie) etc would do round here, provides such an interesting challenge compared to the usual diet on the PGA of just blasting driver round.
Really enjoyed this one , it would be great to see more tour pros attempt this because all though not the longest of courses every hole demands respect.
Great video, one of your best Rick. Love seeing Ryan on this channel, so humble and genuine. Also I love the live audience, adds that extra connection as a viewer of the video. Keep up the good work!
Agreed. There’s some old time charm to this kind of exhibition, but it’s a community course, not a tour venue. It definitely stood up to great players, hats off, but let them have the record.
This was such a great video! I loved following along with you and Ryan. Ryan keeps it real, which I really appreciate. He really knows how to approach a challenge. I'd love to see more of these, Rick! - Adaire
I was literally about to post the same!! I live at Mickleover Manor so just round the corner (although I'm a member at Mickleover GC). Please make it a series....but let us know when you are there 😂
I’ve been binge watching Rick’s videos after getting back into golf after a 10 year break this summer. This is feel good content at its very best! Thanks Rick and Ryan and the members of such a wonderful golf club!
Great effort, especially as the course record would have been set by somebody who knew the course inside out, plays it regularly and had luck on their side that day. Would love to see what Rick and Guy score here and some other tour pros too.
I've watch a lot of these pro v TH-cam golfer formats and am always blown away by how humble/kind the pros are. Ryan, Adam Scott, Fowler, Faldo etc. are all just nice people.
My father, who was a passionate amateur golfer, always believed that professional golfers might struggle on public golf courses. He often mentioned that the speed of the greens would be a challenge for them. He would have thoroughly enjoyed watching videos on this topic.
If you could, I would love to see James and Ryan get another chance at this course….together. I think those 2 would get along and I do feel there is some advantage having a playing partner.
Great video. I was a member here for about 20 years, and also worked here as a green keeper, during summers when at University. I managed to get down to 5 playing here. I had a few level par 9's, but my best round was 66 (+2) in practice and a 67 (+3) in a competition. I think I still have the scorecard somewhere 😂. Like Ryan found out there is not an easy birdie here, especially on the par 3s. If you are a low handicaper around Pastures, most can often play well at other courses that offer more space / room for error and shorter par 3s. Whilst it's not a long course it makes you a very strong long iron player and because a lot of the greens are slightly raised, it also forces you to be a good chipper. In practice rounds you can use woods off the tee, and when the fairways are dry some of the par 4s are drivable, but if you are wayward you're in a whole load of trouble. I also marked the card for old course record (65....+1), before the course was changed. Would love to see some more Pros take on this challenge at Pastures or see Ryan back. Pastures........The Home of Golf ❤
Ryan on that course where it would be mowed like in Florida and lightening greens, he would go way under. I would’ve loved to see Ryan try driving a couple of Par 4 greens as he could easily reach
No. target golf is WHY pro's shoot 23 under etc. it's about course management. not just bombing a ball 300 yards. Keep it on the runway. Then you have a good chance of scoring.
@@terrysparkes5082 oh I know this. Hitting a holding a green from 330 is unlikely. However would’ve been good to see. The greens were unpredictable here so shooting super low would be tough due to conditions as well as being tight
Great video again. Rick manages to always produce content that i properly invest in, and fully “watch” from start to finish. Keep the excellent videos coming. 👏👏
Lots of these fun, technical courses around. Can think of Fosseway and Tickenham in Somerset as good examples. Would be good to see more videos like this
Very enjoyable guest. Ryan, you were great. You said something at the end that deserves repeating. You want to come back and play again now that you know the course. Guess what? The person that holds the course record has probably played it quite a few times. You learn it and play it, maybe match play with Rick, and then... BREAK THAT RECORD!!!

Still showing how amazing these guys are at golf, 2 over par, on a course he never played before, that on reccord shows 2 over par is an incredible score. I bet if he play that course one more time, maybe two, he would be 3-4 under par. Great job
That he ended up in the trees so much is very comforting for us regular dudes. It’s a tough game to master, and even those who are far better than most of us, also struggle with it
I played pastures today Rick funnily enough and I shot 37 points. Great vid, nice to see you come back to pastures again. It was where I got my first membership and started my golfing journey
