This is a exquisite performance! I've listened to dozens of recordings and this still remains one of my very favourites. In fact, this was the one performance that made me fall in love with this, at first glance, obscure piece. She's got a musicality that is extremely rare. I would almost say that it's one of the most natural playings I've ever heard. Her tone is unbelievably warm. When she plays, the piano sings. In this piece she is telling a compelling story while maintaining a dreamy atmosphere. Martha Argerich gave her very high points at the Chopin competition in 2015 (much higher than Kate Liu who won the third prize) , Phillipe Entremont gave her the highest possible points (same as Charles Richard Hamlin who won the second prize) . I thought it was really unfair that she didn't pass to the second round. This recording proves her to be a Chopin interpreter at the highest level. Never give up!
Frankly, to me this seems like the closest we may have to the way Chopin himself played, based on the reports I have heard. Completely warm, singing sound all the way to the loudest fortissimo. The whole piece is joined into one phrase in the most magical way.
Sen Der I didnt say she's valentina. I said she's my favorite *along with* Valentina, which means they both are my favorite. That doesnt mean they have to be the same
Nathalie is one of the blessed daughters of Muse, and that's why she can produce music with a flawless technique. Now, it is true that her body is not, as yet, as mature so as to convey the intense "juggernaut of passions" of an older pianist like V. Horowitz. But this is true for most gifted people, because Mozart produced his best master works but later on in his life (late twenties and early thirties). The greater the talent the more times and efforts it would take to blossom and mature to its full potency. Concerning the din-noise of fame, success and the distraction of the social media, as opposed to the blissful silence of Former Times in Solitude, countless budding geniuses are daily spoiled by the winds of hyperbole praises and eye-rolling adjectives, which, more likely, could explain why prodigy children may fall short to our high expectations. Later on their God-given talent could become commonplace, and the heavenly gifts of precocity, so highly praised, are thus ruined by the rusty hands of Mammon the god of money. Sometimes they are sacrificed on the altar of Moloch, the god of Nihilism (meaninglessness). The Golden Era of the Technical Pianist is Over, but Music, being timeless and for eternity, will live forever in our heart and soul. If a pianist can recreate Music on a piece of wood, then, we are fortunate to witness a miracle, a new child is born, no less extraordinary than the life of a prophet or a great philosopher. All my best Nathalie and your fans!
I'm such a fan of yours! Very nice playing! I feel every note with my heart..I'm 20 years old and have spent 4 months playing the piano. I'm currently playing Czerny 100! You are my role model! :D
Natalie might receive more recognition if she could have a teacher of world renown. I wonder if Martha Argerich might consider taking Natalie under her wing.
Perfect example of when the artist, piano and music are one.
It touched my heart deeply. You seldom hear a Chopin played in such a friendly, warm-hearted manner without any vanity. Blue sound. Wonderful colors.
The tone is amazing. Every note she plays turns gold!
The ingenuity of this piece is congenially worked out, here Chopin lets us look very deeply into himself.
Whenever i got bored, i watch every single video on ther channel
She has everything, and her demeanor at the keyboard is gorgeous. This is a pianist the way God makes them.
Yes!
Best performance of the polonaise I have ever heard! Great colours and amazing sound! Thanks a lot!
Выдающиеся владение инструментом в сочетании с природной музыкальностью, благородством, богатой звуковой палитрой, великолепным чувством формы! Браво!

Omg, this piece is amaze balls!!!
young and talented.

Jewel-like playing.
She is my favourite pianist ever along with valentina lisitsa
Carlosmp20 I think we may be witnessing a young version of La Divina Valentina. Now we need to think of a nickname for the wonderfully gifted Natalie.
Joseph Mahoney : she may have less technique than Valentina, but I prefer her feeling, I agree she is becoming the best.
I honestly don't think she's like Valentina at all. And there's nothing wrong with that - she's her and Valentina is Valentina.
Sen Der I didnt say she's valentina. I said she's my favorite *along with* Valentina, which means they both are my favorite. That doesnt mean they have to be the same
+Carlosmp20 I know, I was referring to joe piano's comment.

i disagree - Chopin was artistically fully deveolped by 18 or 19 (by time of writing his 2 concerti)
Amazing you are my favorite Pianist please keep uploading videos. It's always a happy day when I see new videos from you
+Janet Bailey Fell just the same way! Waiting for a long time, by the way.
Yep It would be nice to see a video of her playing Chopin's 4th Ballade I think it would be incredible
