Mande has what I call overwatch doom syndrome. He assumes Apex will follow the same path as other previously great games. It definitely could, but it wouldn’t take that much to correct the games trajectory. Literally just fixing the games servers and matchmaking would boost its enjoyability for casual players into the stratosphere.
Gen is not leaving Falcons. He's in Australia. He may not have all these Falcon banners on his stream, but he's also on a different set up, in a different country. Falcons had one bad tournament, if anything they'd drop their coach way before dropping Gen.

With all due respect Mande fell off quite a bit as a player imo, prolly due to lack of passion. His play in EMEA pro league was terrible and all I've seen him do recently is complain. Just move on Mande, no one would blame you.

Yeah I love Mande but I agree with you. Of course these guys, that have always been the best at the game, that play it as a full time job, got bored of it. I work all day and play Apex about 3 times a week and it's legitimately perfect for me.
The thing is ppl like you who don't play a lot is the small part of the community, u just gotta play 2hours per day to see the audio issues, server issues, balancing issues, monetization issues, ranked issues, communication issues and many more, apex is beyond greedy and everyone is doing better

Some drop off in certain time like summer/holidays and then it goes back up where it is most of the time. Yea overall it might have dropped some players in past 6 years but what game doesn't.

I played about 2 hours of Apex for the first time in 2 months, and I almost threw up. It was nothing but disconnecting teammates, getting 1 or no teammates, Pred lobbies, and or teammates trying to 1 v 3. Looks like I won't touch this game ever again. Horrible solo experience.

Imo EA destroyed viewership by making ranked too easy and having less strict of lobbies for the top players. No one wants to watch a pred stack farm gold players all day, accuse everyone of cheating, and whoever plays the most is the #1 player. It's literally more fun to watch pubs than ranked.
I had an idea on how to save viewership, but I think it's too far gone and won't come back. The only thing they can do is do more algs tournaments more regularly, build the hype, but champs being 5 months away killed that.
Anyways, my idea was to rebrand ranked. Masters and Pred means nothing anymore, turn these into different names, new badges, make it like 4 new ranks inside this top bracket. This new version will make everyone want to grind it and reach #1. Advertise it as comp ranked. Much more punishing, but more rewarding for the win. Keep the casual pub style ranked until diamond, because people below these ranks seem to be the ones that want it like this and the people past this want a comp based rank system. Diamond or maybe even mid plat is very reachable for players that want to try this new system. More strict sbmm so only the top players are playing against each other. Add a form of R5 to the game for long que times. 24/7 monitoring of cheaters in these lobbies where I think less cheaters would be here because it would be much easier to get these people banned as it would be more obvious and less of them inside these games where you won't have gold players in the lobbies.
I got this idea cause the beginning of the season is always so fun for me to watch. You will have multiple pro players in the same lobbies, switching between streams to see where they are at in rank and how close they are to being in first, but they all stop caring after 2 days and it's not fun anymore. If EA were to focus and expand on that, I think this here is what people would want to watch out of an apex ranked system.

I hate that nobody ever points out the obvious either. Everyone says oh the game is dying there's no viewership, but there is literally also nothing going on in game at this point in time. No scrims, or comp being run as this is the current "off season". It's literally called an "ESPORT". Just like any other sport, there is very clearly an off season where things to not happen. So of course viewership would fall off for a little bit, just use your common sense and stop spreading so much negativity within the community. Apex legends will die solely to the fact that streamers will continue to spread so much hate and negativity that will bleed out into the casual community as they support these individuals and their views.
@@Jolflor92 Refreshing to hear such a good take. You're 100% correct in what you said here. As a season 0 player the negativity in the community is getting tiring. I feel like the game has an entirely different player base than it used to, and the people that play now all hate the game. It makes no sense to me. Hopefully some more positivity in the community and from content creators/streamers in the future.
I have been enjoying Apex as of lately. I think the only thing I have a gripe with is Solo Q players shouldn’t pay as much RP as 3 stack players do. It’s not fair because there’s soooo many variables. Teammates WITH mics that only talk once they die or y’all get killed. Teammates who want to rat the whole game and not with the team.
But overall I like it. Devs dug themselves a hole when listening to the top 0.001% of the actual gamers. Only to realize that these nerd incels will complain about anything. I understand viewership is going down but I think it’s because a lot of these streamers killed it by talking about how bad it was. Creating an echo chamber

Seeing new meta comps due to the different maps will feel fresh. Obviously the new maps help, but different comps for different playstyles which make the viewing experience so much more exciting.

Gen seemed ready to leave a year ago but then falcons became a thing and he decided to stick it out. 20th place isn’t what he signed up for
EA/Respawn have done a LOT of stuff that deserves to be called out, no question. That doesn't mean we should be negative about everything (and ONLY focused on the negative), while it's included a couple missteps, the last year has seen significantly more content/growth/quality than we had for the several years that preceded it. We've seen a lot of long standing issues addressed (and while plenty remain, we can't expect everything to be fixed at once), seen growth with things like the new perk system and a slew of new LTMs (sure, some were duds but there have been some great ones, and some new mechanics/health changes have came from them).
I say all this to say that the game, content-wise, has not been stagnating. I understand frustrations from certain long standing issues, but considering how much some of these things seem to be exaggerated (at least partially driven by those frustrations, likely partly from copium) and how many content creators are constantly lamenting the "death of apex," I don't think it's surprising new content isn't bringing in new players (or bringing back old players).. content creators ONLY talk about how bad Apex is and how everyone is leaving (the definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy).
Mande in this clip is a prime example. Do you really think EA hates Apex? A soul-less, greedy mega-corp is sitting there like "DAM IT! NO, Apex did it again! They made us ANOTHER billion dollars!! Jeeeezzz.. why won't it just DIE already?!" No, the only thing they dislike about Apex is spending on it, but that's not out of dislike/distaste for the game.. they're greedy/cheap/short-sighted, more concerned with maximizing profits in the short term, long term viability be dammed (and it's not an issue unique to the game, company, or industry... say hello to late-stage capitalism, profit over everything). BUT (sidenote) it's worth mentioning that even in the grips of their greed they still will/can be convinced to spend on the game, if they think it will reap big enough returns; early last year they actually set up a new studio specifically for testing/developing new Apex content (this was back when they cut contracted, rather than employee, play testers.. they likely moved those efforts to the new studio), and the last year of new content and the suddenly addressing of some long-standing issues/requested additions is likely a result of that.. which, imo, means we should be optimistic about the future rather than constantly focusing/harping on only negative aspects/issues (I mean, don't ignore them, but balance it by applauding/covering the wins as they come too).

A major apex fan here…. I spent $5000 on this game but it just truly ain’t what it used to be to be. I switched to valo. Def a different game & ngl def a learning curve which was apex for me @ the beginning & that’s why I loved it. I really hope it stays alive cause I love lans. Glad I got to go to the LA one.

There’s a certain way neazul, jaguares, & Yanya play. Especially their comms, it’s mostly relaxed and aggressive. They always come to the conclusion to kill a team. It’s so non chilant how they move from defense and aggressive extremely quickly. I don’t think there are many people who can play with Jaguares, & Neazul. If Yanya leaves I think it’s over for that team.

Mande is a burned out ex-pro. He is too good for standard rank and has no "desire" to play against equally skilled players but plays +-6 hours a day because apex is the only game that brings him viewers. Of course he thinks everything in Apex is bad. compare it to someone who hates his job but earns so much money that changing (if possible) will always be a loss.
I don't know him personally of course and he seems like a cool guy, but his input on apex is cloudy because of his burn out and is separate from the real problems the game has

People be mad at mande for what? Being honest about the bad state of the game? The thing that gets worse and worse each season? Sorry to tell yall this, but the game is actually dying. It even struggles to hit 100k concurrent players on Steam quite often lately. For an eSports titel with longevity, that is really bad. And all Respawn does is just release skins and change stuff that one one asked about, like the order in deatboxes or the sorting of the seasons in the career tab, like what? They make just 2 patches per season and usually only do like 1dmg tweaks, and thats it. We still have bad audio, bad matchmaking, bad servers, bad anti cheat, bad balancing, and hundreds of bugs, but yeah keep coping and say the game is doing fine. The devs literally change stuff only to say they worked. So yeah thx for changing the career history from ascending order to decending, that made the game so much more playable....

when you see people who are used to her you can see her Potential but also imo it shows if the Portal UI was better and if the portal went further(yes it got buffed but not enough imo) then she'd likely get played more but i think most who would play her play someone else due to the fact Ash is just out shined by other Legends who have the same or similar role as Ash
