MMR based matchmaking has become industry standard, which is one of the worst things that has ever come out of gaming. EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking) which is what COD uses, is 1000x worse. Like you said Badge, not only is it the most easily exploitable matchmaking, but its also excruciatingly BORING and PREDICTABLE. EVERY single game you play with EOMM will have the exact same cycle of games over and over again. If you do really good one game, matchmaking will handicap you in the next. Play terribly another game, and your next game will be an easy cakewalk. Play above average=punished. Play below average=cakewalk. Modern online matchmaking punishes all of the good players for being good at the game, while coddling and catering to all of the casuals who are “below average.” Video games that have any sort of multiplayer skill ceiling at all will become relics of the past, just a matter of time at this point.
Spot on, my G! I liked how the shooting was at the start of 2K24 with small green windows but consistent timing. These mechanics are hurting the ones who don't cheat way more than the ones that do and since these cheaters aren't getting banned then a lot of the people who don't cheat will start using the money they spend on VC to buy Titan scripts instead.
I can’t play with my homeboys at all, I got them to gold plates beginning of game but now we can’t even compete cuz they don’t actually play like gold plates. I HAVE to play with good teammates and meta lineups to have fun now. Every time they call to play I don’t even answer cuz ik we getting our heads bussed in😂
As a person that plays more offline. Shooting DEFINITELY needs to be buffed, alot of stuff on 2K25 needs to be improved. Movement is the main issue. You can't just think about the people that play online only.
Something i like about the SBMM is that if you are actually a 60 overall black plate you play other people with 60 - 70 ovr and this means people dont have to spend 100s of $ on getting a build upgraded and instead of having to play AI in mycareer

I'm not much on the rhythm shooting. I play PG and it's already enough to have to dribble, quick stop and then shoot. Adding that extra step makes shooting off the dribble EXTREMELY difficult. I agree that shooting doesn't need a buff, but we could definitely do away with the 5000 different timings. They did this stuff to try and curb cheaters while only hurting most of the community.
Problem is not every type of shot is compatible with rhythm shooting...Something needs to be done to give hooks, layups, and other special shots something similar. The idea isn't fleshed out at all
To be honest I like rhythm shooting and it feels rewarding when I’m able to knock down shots consistently. I play both guard(mainly) and center as well and doing rhythm shooting on both feels nice and smooth once you get the timing down as well and even with fades as well to!

I been noticed 2k was trying to force us to use rhythm shooting. It is way easier to make shots but that a whole new mechanic we have to adapt to.. I forget to use it most of the time 😂

Love skill based matchmaking since I’m goat level and I get matched with people the same skill as me so that’s fantastic. I also work most the day and get off at 11:30pm so I mostly play pretty late. It takes me 30 mins on average to get a game. I’d rather get matched with silvers and stuff and be able to play then having to wait 30 minutes every time I want to play.
Let’s be real… the titan community is low compared to us common players. I would estimate that out 100 player MAYBE 2 of them are really titan users. There’s much more casuals than sore winning titan sweats . Majority of people are not wasting extra money to cheat for their ego and no true payout 😂

Ion play 2k anymore 23 kinda did it for me 24 just put a fork in it , I miss when u can go to the park get some runs in not to much extra goin u play some comp u play some scrubs u play average players u play weird teams it was a variety. You also could do a little grinding then buy a little vc not a literal arm and leg just getting to 85 ovr. Then with shooting all u have to do is make the green window smaller with an 100% green window ,obviously when stamina is low ur shot should slow down. Not to mention they slow the game down every year while nerfing dribbling combine that with vc prices and Ronnie capping all the damn time 2k is at its point of no return
I’m a decent player I take the time to practice my shooting and I take open shots I have games when I can hit consistently and the next game I play I can’t even hit one wide open shots it’s bad when you playing with randoms once they see you missed one shot they not passing you the ball anymore

You don’t need to use rhythm shooting on every single shot but in my opinion you should at least know it. I use it, not on every shot, and it is cash money. I use the button when I’m dribbling and shoot directly after using right stick to dribble. But for catch and shoots or when my defender leaves me wide open I use the stick to shoot. Y’all can do whatever you want but it provides an insane boost

I don't mind shooting being harder but it needs to be consistent. But also if 2k's excuse for shooting to be hard is to be more realistic then steals need a major nerf. Whens the last time someone averaged 6, 5, or even 4 steals steals in the NBA per game with 12 min per quarter

Takeover is not about scoring this year. You have to pass the ball to get it faster and get assists
It takes too long to get, until you get that takeover booster thing
I get it plenty of games as a big but blocks and passing definitely helps

I been noticed 2k was trying to force us to use rhythm shooting. It is way easier to make shots but that a whole new mechanic we have to adapt to.. I forget to use it most of the time 😂
the push timing makes it worse tho bc u can green and push too fast/slow and still miss

I play random rec mainly and I prefer Sbmm. Because I always have teammates who want to win. And I’m a red plate. The games are always super competitive. No more blowouts like previous years
And the Zenners have the rhythm shooting script too so 2k really screwed themselves and all of us in the process 🤦♂️

I don’t like how they are forcing us to use a certain shooting mechanic. There is no plus using square then. Might as well take it out the game.
Proving grounds should be based on plate ranks bc people with gold or red obviously have better iq than a 88 that got carried to get their first few wins to get them to bronze or silver in proving grounds rank.
Also need a no squad option for proving grounds. Or just keep it completely solo queue.

Love skill based matchmaking since I’m goat level and I get matched with people the same skill as me so that’s fantastic. I also work most the day and get off at 11:30pm so I mostly play pretty late. It takes me 30 mins on average to get a game. I’d rather get matched with silvers and stuff and be able to play then having to wait 30 minutes every time I want to play.
2k is definitely on its way towards EBMM and it's really scary

I would estimate that out 100 player MAYBE 2 of them are really titan users. There’s much more casuals than sore winning titan sweats . Majority of people are not wasting extra money to cheat for their ego and no true payout 😂
Most definitely a skill gap when using the new shooting system , the badges and learning your jumper is important . 70% sounds crazy tho maybe a lil nerf like around 45% .

Well for me is like rhythm forces me to look deep into myplayer and it feels really right. That said, there's a loot of imprecision from moving your stick from one side to another so it needs to be "easier" if you get me.
best way to have a skill base game for this is buff the shit outta defense and make dribbling skill based

Sbmm has nothing to do with the teammates you get, never has in any game that has implemented sbmm
Only reason i say SBMM shouldn't be in rec is because if you play with your friends and yall reach gold or legend. you will play against a zone damn near every game thats not fun IMO.. Played 5 games earlier with only me and 1 other friend and out of the 5 4 were against a full 5 runnning zone thats dumb

Ion play 2k anymore 23 kinda did it for me 24 just put a fork in it , I miss when u can go to the park get some runs in not to much extra goin u play some comp u play some scrubs u play average players u play weird teams it was a variety. You also could do a little grinding then buy a little vc not a literal arm and leg just getting to 85 ovr. Then with shooting all u have to do is make the green window smaller with an 100% green window ,obviously when stamina is low ur shot should slow down. Not to mention they slow the game down every year while nerfing dribbling combine that with vc prices and Ronnie capping all the damn time 2k is at its point of no return
Difficulty base kinda more consistent. More of same timing jumpers. Easier to hit over 50 percent of shots

I’m a decent player I take the time to practice my shooting and I take open shots I have games when I can hit consistently and the next game I play I can’t even hit one wide open shots it’s bad when you playing with randoms once they see you missed one shot they not passing you the ball anymore

You don’t need to use rhythm shooting on every single shot but in my opinion you should at least know it. I use it, not on every shot, and it is cash money. I use the button when I’m dribbling and shoot directly after using right stick to dribble. But for catch and shoots or when my defender leaves me wide open I use the stick to shoot. Y’all can do whatever you want but it provides an insane boost
