Thanks. -- Turned out that the plastic insert what holds the spring and switch was put in upside down in my light! No wonder it only worked half the time and fell apart every time i screwed the cap off! -- I had to use some small pliers on the plastic piece, spread them open to get a bite on the insert, then twist to break the glue free, taking care to do my best not to mangle the insert too bad. -- Turn the tailpiece over, working from the green rubber cap side, and use the padded handle of the pliers to push straight down to pop the insert out. Reassemble as shown in video. -- Also had to use pliers to widen the edges of the metal spring cap cause it was falling straight thru the insert. -- the flashlights working properly now.

Use something like small pliers to twist the plastic insert and break the glue seal free. Once it is able to turn inside the tailpiece with pliers, flip it over. Use plier or small screwdriver handle to push straight down. The insert will fall out

Is this supposed to be a different video? One that actually shows how to FIX/ REPAIR the button, not just put it back together? I thought you had uploaded someone else's video, this one th-cam.com/video/_3ruc1DGoPE/w-d-xo.html but it's your own video too...

I don't know what I'm doing, either; only I'm not uploading a video, with all of the pauses or "ummm" bits left unedited, so people can sit there as long as it takes for my lack of applicable knowledge becomes noticeable to them - and letting it be known that I'm out of my depth only shortly before the end. The whole video was just a recording of some flashlight owner (an "end user"), _who seems to possess no more technical knowledge of the light than any other end user,_ as they attempt to figure out how to do the repair, by themselves - while holding a phone in one hand. If anyone somehow doesn't catch on to that reality before the end, the great thing about actually _stating,_ out loud, that you don't actually have any inside info, and that you have nothing useful to guide others, makes certain that no viewer escapes without it having been made clear that the blissfully unobservant viewer's preceding few minutes* garnered them no proprietary info, expert knowledge, vendor experience, warranty secrets, nor any direction to sources for the end-user to obtain OEM-quality replacement parts (you know, well-made bits that fit well - so there are no new problems to fix [like looseness or rattling], immediately after "fixing" the _first_ problem... novel post-repair issues are a sign the work or the part is not good).
★ a few slow-paced, meandering minutes - which could have been reduced to a mere O:3O-1:OO in length, if the viewers' time was respected by taking a few moments to ensure most of anything superfluous/extraneous/boring/repetitive was edited out. Like every "content creator" who knows the first handful of foundational rules for storytelling, writing, advertising, or video creation: cut out or re-record over any mistakes, and cut out any stuff that people won't want to sit through, or which causes the viewer to lose interest. Do that before uploading a video that's going to be found and watched by the huge numbers of individuals who all possess a widely-available item that breaks easily. Before uploading it with a title or description making it appear to contain something exclusive or useful, of specific value, to all the other people searching the internet for assistance with repairing _their_ similarly-broken flashlights.

Yeaaah... Not sticking around for the end of the "Ummm-fest" when you don't even know what a terminal post is. But, keep smacking your lips/sucking your teeth, Peter. That makes you sound much more believable and professional.
