- Showing how to fix a switch on a led Ultrafire T6 flashlight.
It seems like after the switches been switch on/off a lot of times. The flashlight just has a hard time coming on to a solid light.
Each time I,v fixed these switches it has solved the problem.
Know after the switches have been pushed on/off a lot more time.

Yo, I've been having trouble with my Bell+Howell TorchLight (as seen on TV) for a while now (read months of no use after more months of frustration) and only just now decided to take it apart. Unfortunately, the button assembly kinda exploded on me. I gathered a few of the pieces but couldn't figure things out, hence taking to TH-cam. I just want to say, that even though your video is for a different flashlight, the similarity between the light you worked on and my own allowed me to realize that not only did I still have to find a spring (which I thankfully found in the wheel of my bed frame) but that the metal piece was bent! So I flattened that out, got the spring and everything in place, and it works like new! (except trying to take it apart, I broke the magnetic, opposable frame... :( ) But hey, it works now and I have you partly to thank! So thanks!

I like to put copper conductive foil adhesive on mine it helps a lot and some around the bulb too helps conductivity you can get decent roll of it on ebay for 10 dolla

Thanks for posting this! I've had 5 of these UltraFire switches fail over the years, but never had the CREE LED lamp itself fail. Those LEDs are amazing, eh? So they are worth fixing the switch, and your video got me started. I found that my switch was a slightly different design, but did have the same sort of button-shaped circular metal contact, which bridges across the two arc-shaped metal contacts on either side. I didn't need to flatten the button contact, but the two arc-shaped contacts were a bit dirty, as shown here:

So I cleaned those surfaces with alcohol on a Q-Tip, and reassembled the switch. But the main problem I noticed was that the two solder connections had broken between the metal switch tabs and the tan colored flat circuit board, as shown here:

So I used a couple clothespins to hold the assembly together, and resoldered the two spots, as shown here:

Mine's a similar design, tried pressing firmly on the metallic nipple piece as shown in this clip but the switch still has this kind of intermittent unreliable strength, just have to jiggle the switch around until it's bright which is a little frustrating, would like to straight up replace the whole switch with something decent if such a thing exists!
I just pressed on both ends (inside the cap and on the button) and that seems to have it. No disassembly. Someday we have to teach China the concept of quality. Inside of mine has a plastic insert - no holes to screw the piece out.
+Digger D It would be nice if the switches were made a little different. This would not happen so often. I use the flashlights pretty much all the time. So I guess it could be just from over use. If I left it alone where it was never used. I guess I would never go through this issue. Its ok there is not much in fixing it. The prices are ok. So l,ll just keep fixing as long as its able to. With yours Maybe if you made something to be able to grab a hold of it. It just might unscrew. Not sure though. Just a guess here and a thought. But if its working again after what you done. That's good. TC

mysticangells Your welcome mystic. Sometimes that can happen. When I was young that happened to me. Now I don,t have that problem for the most part. If I,m working with something with lots to it. The paper and pen comes out. I will then mark everything down the way it came apart. That,s a big helper for some things. Hope you get your flash light back working.

Seeds2freedom Good guess. Wood stove is a real good cook house. Them little switches are Quite the switch alright. It works out... Every now and then I have to repair this switch. Only cause the led light gets used so much is why. Thank You Seeds
I have the same light but mine is having troubles switching different modes, it only switches between high and strobe and it takes a lot of clicks for it to do that. Any idea why it might be doing this? I checked the switch in a different light and it works fine. So it's not the switch. :/
+Josh J No never had that problem with mine.
The only problem with this video is he never tested the broken switch on camera to show us it actually was not working, he only told us sometimes they go bad but if we don't see it actually fail or not working so far all we the know there was nothing ever wrong with the switch that he took apart in the first place?
If you have one of these flash lights and in time the switch acts up. Then you will understand. Understanding any time before that has no meaning to it. Cheers
