- I love souls games and wanted to make my own on roblox, so here's my take on it. A lot of the footage here is in early game areas, check my twitter for more.
If you are here from the old version (Hero Grand Soul), this game is an entirely different project that was coded from scratch. The gameplay will be almost nothing like the original.

make the bosses have more magical/explosive combat movement
Those are called effects.
make them walk slower or give them a cleaner run animation, they look weird walking fast

For the fragments since it says "Fragment unearthed" you could have it resting halfway in the ground then float up once found.

As a fellow Roblox developer and Soulslike fan myself, I tip my hat to you. People have been very critical in the comments section, but I can tell the work that’s gone into what we’ve seen so far. There are obviously a few rough edges but this looks promising. My only request is that you keep your integrity throughout the project, just like FromSoft themselves!
Looks dope but i feel like enemies should have their own idle and walking animation to distinct themselves from each other.
This is a great looking game and I can't wait to play it! I think one thing you could add is controller support, and , if it's not in the game ,maybe add PVP or a raiding system like in Elden Ring or Dark souls or Co-op. I think both would be nice ways to interact with other players besides trading.
Yesss I need a work on controller support so bad im so not used to keyboard dark souls lol

The bosses could use a bit more but I understand the problem of limited resources the health bars of the early bosses could be increased a bit and some could have different phases like other souls like games
Am I dreaming or not for this is overwhelmingly beautiful, the music, the boss fights, the gameplay, the combat and weapon types this is literally every souls born game that I want to play

this is such great work! I suppose if you'd like some feedback, the bosses could be a little flashier, with mroe magic and stuff and maybe support teamwork in dungeons, like random generated puzzles :)
I might open it soon. That is the first boss and I made the second boss slightly more flashier. Also, multiplayer teamwork and dungeons are on plan 😮
i think some bosses should not be flashier sometimes bosses are better without those moves it depends on what type of boss u are facing
@@Zenodexio and btw u should add a movesets like this mod in elden ring called "carian combo warriors" for some certain katanas and make it rare or legendary or even a hidden boss drop, u can also add new dodging mechanics such a teleporting if u know what i mean "bloodhound step" or "radagon teleport" and it can be something u can get later on the game

I love FromSoft games, I've played the DS Trilogy, Sekiro, Bloodbourne, and Elden Ring. I can say that this looks great! I look forward to seeing the progress, don't worry about criticism, just take your time to make it just the way you want it to be! A good game is a game that has effort put into it! Good luck and great job!
I think you need to add effects to bosses that show what attacks they are doing. So for example with the Golden Man Knight. In his attack where he dashes forward with a stab, maybe you could add a flash or something to show that this move should be dodged and not blocked. These cues could be used for moves that aren't blockable and have some windup.
actual soulsike games aren't like that
@@he773 Yeah I know. It's just a suggestion to make the pve more user-friendly since it's Roblox. Deepwoken has a mechanic similar to this and it's the closest to soulslike we have on Roblox. And the game doesn't have to be exactly soulslike.

YOOOO, THIS IS AWESOME! It's very early on but it looks SICK so far! I have some things I could advise you on, especially if you're doing this alone
Find a team, full of passionate people like you! People who aren't really looking to be paid and just treat it as a fun project, it'll be hard but, I know theres some people out there who do that, and having a team of even 4 people that are good at their own things (modeling/scripting/writing) would be great!
Some of the animations and UI could use some work. Stagger animations, introducing a poise system to enemies, parries, ripostes. The UI having a fade out feature, where the health you lose goes to white before disappearing could be helpful, same with FP.
Some of the enemies look really good, though some could use some work, mainly the bosses, make them flashy, iconic, memorable! A transition into a second phase, maybe even cutscenes, some dialogue would help a lot! Hardcore moves, and more effects would do them great justice.
Finally, this one wouldn't really need a team, but voice acting would make it awesome! I have a few friends who dearly love voice acting, and love to do productions just for fun, so I'd find people like that to voice dialogue, like the Souls Games have.
All that said, it looked AMAZING so far!

I don’t get excited for new and upcoming roblox games often but, as a souls fan of 8+ years, this really looks great and gets me hyped! Don’t forget to add the Moonlight Greatsword😉
Looks really cool, I reccomend not using copyrighted music or having an option to disable music so that content creators can more easily play your game. I'm looking forward to it!

I think a good idea to add for players that want to give themselves a challenge is modifiers before starting a new game. For example, one could be where the player isn't able to level up strength or dexterity but starts off with a scepter that has its damage scale off of all four magic aspects or another player could start out being unable to block with a shield but having the same amount of damage reduction when blocking with a weapon. You know, just a little something to add replayability
Maybe also a permadeath option or make it so the player only has a certain number of lives

One thing i think works really great with the souls games is how dark it is and i dont mean it as in the story wise, the fact the game is physically less illuminated really give you the feel that your in a treacherous situation. Even during the day it still feels dark in elden ring thanks to the use of fog and cloud cover. If the bosses need to feel more menacing or an area that is a trick that could help increase the stakes because when your well lit and illuminated you feel much safer.
This might be the game to actually bring the soulslike feel to Roblox, great work!

you should add a way to tell if a move is parriable/dodgeable similar to how ULTRAKILL briefly flashes a yellow/blue color to determine that

This looks super cool! Make sure do not make dungeons boring and repetitive like elden ring. Love the way you explained everything in this video and those wind runes are a super smart idea to make exploration easier. However, since you showed so much exploration i am worried about combat. Make sure it has a good feel and isnt janky, make sure it actually feels like you are hitting and enemy. I am hoping you will include parry and backstab mechanics to. Really looking forward to this one!

ok this is cool. The sounds, effects and actual animations feel a bit disconnected sometimes tho in some places so polishing that would be awesome as well. The map design is okay, even if a bit dated for roblox games. It also would be cool to get original sound effects for the game but its understandable for you to re-use popular assets as a solo developer. I feel like overall the game has a lot of basics put down, and has a strong foundation but needs more overall polishing at the details to make it stand out and succeed. Love the idea, will subscribe and follow it's development.
I can already see the speed runs to this game being published to youtube, I would very much like to play this game as soon as it releases

This is really cool looking, I’ve got one recommendation that might be cool if it’s not too difficult. With that magic sword you had with your class, assuming it’s like Elden ring and there’s a lot of sorceries with that same magic color, you could do something where every person gets a random color for their magic just as something cool to see what type you get
I would love to make a video or even play test on this when it comes out! Please keep me in mind! Cant wait to see what more it brings! I a big souls fan I always do NG+10 and above haha

I like the idea, and I will try to keep this on a list of games to play, even if it's on Roblox. I do feel like the boss fights need a little more knock back when you hit them or what they hit you just because it would make it feel more tense. Keep it up though it's a really cool project you're working on.
everythings looks soo cool for a roblox game to get it that souls feeling you should make the bosses look scary and flashier with more magic and make it feel like their trapped and cannot escape make it feel like they are under leveled or too weak that would def be fun

heyy, i liked this video! so i am gonna check out this game tonight after some work, i can see a huge potential in the game! the character movements and the mob movements can all be improved but u can take it slow ^^ gradually bring changes through updates! anyways great workk mann!

Knight of the golden man feels like an exact replica ludex gundyr in DS3, except no weird tree thing

great work so far! one thing that i feel it could improve on is downtime between boss attacks, here the enemy attacks again almost immediately after attacking.

I don't even know why people are providing "Suggestions" "Only" and not even commenting how much of a masterpiece this is, Most of the games don't have BOSSES So well designed, animating and scripting the bosses would've taken too much time and efforts Istg. I don't know if you played it but a "Bloodborne like" area would be dope, I always liked the dark, creepy atmosphere of this game. Looking forward to play your game.

Seems pretty good so far. Idk how making roblox games is, but my pet peeve with these games is the environments. They just look pretty plastic-like. Seeing a lot of forest areas. Maybe more drastic area variety? Thought I have not seen all of the areas obviously, so you could already have an idea. Something that could be cool is more urban environments in these types of games. It's always one or the other. Why not ancient urban ruins area, multi layered and vertical. But I have no qualms playing in a purely fantasy world, just a suggestion for what kind of variety I was thinkin of. Might not work out in how you planned the lore, if you have any.
One thing I see is that you somewhat properly integrated proper telegraphing in attacks, something A LOT of these types of games on roblox just can't get right. They tend to skip some frames during attacks so they don't have to animate as much. What I often see is games where the attack consists of: Startup frame then boom, the effect of that frame. So i'm glad you took the time to get that right. Could still smoothen it out, but that depends on how much effort you want to put into this, what you have got is already great.
Though I did not take notice of it here, just make sure you get "stagger" mechanics right. Like when you get hit, for how long you can't take action, and how to break out of it. A lot of games have you end up just stuck constantly.
Just some general tips, good luck! Great talent.
make the running animations for greatsword/greathammers etc. like dragging the weapon on the ground so make it more dynamic

This is awesome dude! and probably one of the best games ever done in Roblox if it's well finished. Btw Ik this is an early access but my feedback is that hitbox should improve (It reminds me of DS2 Hitbox Adaptability xD)
