How would you rate the noise when you’re not pedaling? I know it is on a louder side, but hard for me to imagine. If you’re not pedaling do people turn their head towards you?
It's maybe a little louder than a normal bike, but not much. I ride in the wild and if I am coming up on an animal I want to film, it does not cause them to run, I try to pedal to limit the noise as I get close. As far as turning heads, it is not much louder than derailleur equipped bikes, but it does have a slightly different sound. I was a little hesitant to make this purchase because of little differences like this, but I could not be happier with this bike. My biggest disappointment was the Goodyear tires, which I have since replaced. The best good surprise was the Pinion gearbox. I don't think I could go back to derailleurs.
@@KellyJanssen Thanks a lot. Which tires did you go with? In one of the forums I read about replacing the rear hub with one from Onyx which then makes the bike rather quiet. It’s quite expensive, but there’s an option if it really starts bothering me.
@@MrMilanina I bought Teravail Rutland Durable Tire - 650b. Very happy with them. A little skinnier and grippier off road. No fender rubbing that I had with the Goodyear tires. Seem more puncture resistant as well.
Are you running the Teravail tires with tubes or tubeless ?
With tubes.
@@KellyJanssen Presta or schrader ?
@@JackieMcGruffster The rims are made for Presta.
@@KellyJanssen Noted; thanks.
