Normally not a big fan of intergender wrestling but this was an exception. Tessa is obviously a physically strong female and is willing and able to take bumps. The men were able to work with her much in the same way as they would a cruiserweight, selling her moves properly without over doing it mostly. Same for Tessa, she worked and sold realistically, (by pro wrestling standards),in that she was fighting men who were bigger and stronger than her. Everyone's characters were protected and for the most part everyone got over.
Great talent, great look, great worker, and she deserves recognition for this whole angle. It's just a shame that there have been the alleged backstage/attitude issues. She'll probably just end becoming another 'what if' story.
Tessa is so damn good in the ring and would be a great asset to any women’s division. It’s just a shame that her backstage problems will keep her from being booked by any company. Such a wasted talent.
I am personally a firm believer that people can change and grow from their mistakes. I remember 2019 and hearing the hype of Tessa Blanchard's story in TNA, and I remember seeing her on NXT back in the day and she was really good. Girl has everything you want in a star and has one of the best storylines in recent memory under her belt. If she can get her shit together, and rebuild bridges she's burned, regain the trust of the wrestling world at large because lord knows she'll need it, I would be happy to see her make a comeback.
I'm a firm believer that people can change too but to a certain degree though. Because as much as we believe some people can change, we also have to face reality that there are some people are just to far gone as well where they have to learn the hard way.
She had SIX women speak out against her racism and bullying. That stuff doesn’t just change because you got caught. You just learn how to hide it better
Can we also give credit to how good Sami Callahan was at this time period? That turned out to be a huge for Impact outside of the Eddie Edwards incident. He got me back into watching Impact.
I'd like to see her back because she really is a great wrestler and character But she screwed impact and even screwed up being in WOW She's just untrustworthy WOW was a smaller promotion in which she could have built back on but blew it She'd have to really build herself back up on the Indies to build up trust

It was said in the video, but the opponent does matter in situations like this, Sami Callihan was an out of shape hardcore wrestler who used weapons, and his crew to win matches. It's very believable that Tessa could beat a guy like that
i actually wanted to see her win the belt and was very happy to see her end up winning it. I was very disappointed how things turned out at the end and seeing her stripped of the title because of her behavior issues.
I got to meet Tessa Blanchard back in May of this year at an indy show. She was a pleasant person to talk to, or maybe she got humbled and had to do some serious thinking after going through this life experience.

Sami should have never done it, nor should creative even allowed it to happen. Having a woman win the men's world.title literally makes the women's title feel like a prize that even the women don't want at the point. Why should anyone care about the world title of the women's division, if the top female of the promotion doesn't even want it herself and simply sees the MEN'S version of the world title as the true top prize??? It brings the wrong message on so many levels and makes no sense, as well as the fact nobody is buying that Tessa Blanchard (5'5 125 pounds) or ANY woman for that matter is gonna be the top champion/alpha in a division that had Moose, Brian Cage, Eli Drake, Madman Fulton, W. Morrissey, etc
@@2Good2BeTrue45it was terrible. It didn't make her look strong. Made all the men in the company look absolutely weak. I would never watch impact after that.
At the time, it was a brilliant move to hire her. In hindsight TNA should have stood clear. Which sucks because she would have been a MAJOR superstar! She was good, she was really REALLY good! I like to imagine that in an alternate universe where Tessa wasn't more toxic than CM Punk having a self-entitled hissy fit at Chernobyl, she'd be in WWE right now having epic feuds with Charlotte and Becky Lynch where a wrestler of her talent level rightfully belongs. She had the talent, she had the pedigree, she had the look, she could bump and she was over. What a waste.
Honestly was totally against her winning the world title, traditionally a men's title, its why they have a women's championship. But dam I bought the ppv between her and Sami and was blown away. Incredible performance. As for her attitude and backstage stories I tend to not let that affect my opinion as I'm a fan and didn't see or hear whatever happened
It's honestly impressive to see how great these two were at conveying their hatred toward each other the entire feud. You see feuds all the time where pre match buildup tells an intense story up until the grudge match. Then the bell rings and they start with a collar and elbow tie up and a chain wrestling sequence instead of going at each other full blast.

When I seen Brian Cage getting essentially over powered by her and thrown around off the top rope all I though was it makes him look weak regardless of how good you are trying to claim she is. Ultimately it also didn't work out seeing as she essentially walked away and had no intention of dropping the belt to anyone.
The problem is big men can make women look strong in the ring but it doesn't work the other way around. Even a scripted match requires a modicum of belivability. I doubt inter- gender matches will be what brings all the old fans back in there droves.

@@totalnonstopactionrivals6811 You do realize that Lucha Underground's ratings crashed as soon as the company put the belt on Sexy Star right? It legitimately killed the companies ratings and they never recovered.
Tessa had/has all the potential to be the GOAT tbh. But as with most talent it all comes down to attitude. She truly just keeps getting in her own way.
Dumbest things ever made in professional wrestling: 1. Brock Lesnar breaking the streak 2. TNA giving the MEN World title to Tessa Blanchard. Imagine Moose winning the WOMEN World title.
I just stopped buying it when she took a piledriver through chairs and kicked out at 2. Doing 2 canadian destroyers in a row just broke something in me too, and I pretty much turned against Tessa for that because the booking was so obvious; at this point, she might as well have been booked to get shot in the head and still kick out at 2. I was rooting for Sami in the final match.
Intergender feuds can be great especially when done well and especially when they can believabley go either way. Two things that can derail them are when the feud is entirely one way and when they make the feud itself underwhelming. That said putting your world title on a woman just devalues your women's world championship.
Some feud suggestions: Raven vs Dreamer, Jericho vs Malenko (that unmasking pop was crazy), and the Nasty Boys vs matches they are in that don't suck (there's like 5).
i think she should be back in some sense. i was skeptical when she started the feud with Sami but she definitely changed my mind the more i got into it. that feud was the only reason i tuned in to TNA at the time. she was def as brutal as Sammi and took as much as she gave. every wrestler has "attitude" in one way or another but that's what makes them more believable. She can obviously back it up so.... Bottom line is i think any organization would be lucky to have her on their roster. As for TNA putting the strap on her, meh, didn't bother me, i knew it would be short lived but not that short. No different than Chyna winning the IC championship back in the day. It would be different if someone like Carmella or Bayley winning it lol . TESSA COME BACK!!
Me personally im not a fan of intergender wrestling but if it makes sense go for it and tessa made sense she had what every wrestler wants looks, charisma,in ring ability, and promo ability a lot of people including me tuned in to impact for her i was so happy when she won the world title it's a shame she let herself be her worst enemy
This was pretty much what caused me to stop watching after following them with all the other BS throughout the years. Couldn’t take them serious. Now they have the world title on Josh SlapNuts Alexander.
Let me answer your question before I watch the video. No they weren't in doing this. Tessa was one of the most over people Impact had at that time and it wasn't for nothing. There's a reason you posed the question "Would you like to see Tessa back on screens despite her attitude?", Needless to say, she and Taya could hang with the guys at that time in a believable way. Tessa Blachard has such talent and I'll go as far as to say she has or had a certain IT factor to her. But like you said, Tessa is also her own worst enemy if the rumors were true. She could improve her attitude because redemption is not out of the question here. The question is does she even want to. That comes down to her.
@@BabyMaharaja0 I know Shotzi did 5 dollar poop pics according the Cornette Podcast, but there was also an audiotape that sounded a helluva lot like Tessa.
Tessa being world champion in Impact is exactly why Vince kept Chyna away from the WWE title and any chances of a feuding with someone like SCSA or The Rock. That company slid further into irrelevance ever since that debacle, and it didn't do anything for Sami or Brian Cage. It only devalued the both of them. Brian Cage is still known as the guy who lost to Tessa Blanchard and nothing else.
I remember seeing the match with Fulton and thinking it was the phoniest shit I've ever seen. If your world champion is going to be a woman, make her look like she can wrestle with the guys, don't intentionally have them pull back and look like idiots to move the story along. It's a fake sport, so you should be able to make it look convincing. If you can't, don't do it.

If she ever goes back to a major US promotion, she should call herself “Magnum T.B. “
Great talent, great look, great worker, and she deserves recognition for this whole angle. It's just a shame that there have been the alleged backstage/attitude issues. She'll probably just end becoming another 'what if' story.

@@JoeChillton Yeah, except not as gross as Dream.
@@jimbo_1312 if she was dropped N bombs on people backstage and being a total bitch, she's got her own demons
“Callahan spits in his own mouth.” Quotes from commentary are sometimes alarmingly accurate! I love it! 🤣🙏❤️😋
He’s very good
I'd like to see her back because she really is a great wrestler and character
But she screwed impact and even screwed up being in WOW
She's just untrustworthy
WOW was a smaller promotion in which she could have built back on but blew it
She'd have to really build herself back up on the Indies to build up trust
I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, if the world ended at that moment than yes it was right to put the title of Tessa, I just hated the aftermath with all the behind the scenes, drama that Tess had done with bridge burning everyone.
It was said in the video, but the opponent does matter in situations like this, Sami Callihan was an out of shape hardcore wrestler who used weapons, and his crew to win matches. It's very believable that Tessa could beat a guy like that
That`s when i stopped watching TNA for a while...then all togheter
i actually wanted to see her win the belt and was very happy to see her end up winning it.
This looked less like a feud and more how two toxic people get their kicks instead of just ending the relationship.
If this was against the men who were around her size
Watching Brian cage and moos ...lose to her ....painful c
that submission move where he wraps her leg around his face...if i were him i would just try to keep doing that move over and over again.
Crazy how good they make her look in pictures. But I guess they just hid her chin.

How about an ECW feud? Any feud involving either Taz, Raven, or the FBI would be good.
She was good imo but I don't see her getting another big chance in the bigger promotions. Anything is possible though.
She is so good it's to bad that she got herself into trouble
the fact that sammy had the audacity to actually kick this off makes him amazing.
Have to give Sami full props for doing the JOB. Not many men would do that, especially in a "major" (I say that lightly) organization. I stopped watching wrestling a few years ago, but love watching your videos/takes on Feuds and short runs of wrestlers. Tessa has great talent as well.
Thanks brother
@@2Good2BeTrue45 Nice to see someone here talking sense...
@@2Good2BeTrue45it was terrible. It didn't make her look strong. Made all the men in the company look absolutely weak. I would never watch impact after that.
@@2Good2BeTrue45 it killed Cage and Sami forever
Tessa can work well but I don’t think any company would want that kind of problem on there roster.
I love that no matter what Sammi and Tessa did to each other, they were safe enough to ensure nobody actually got hurt. That's professionalism.
Just watching these clips, Sami Callahan is the one who looks like he doesn’t belong. Dude seems like an absolute meme.
he made the matches to make her look good.
This whole era of impact felt like a really high budget snuff film. Good matches but it feels weird
Selfishly I want to see Tessa Blanchard vs Jordan grace at slammiversary or bound for glory this year
Selfish
I hear you in that
Jordan Trash would probably refuse to work with her. Jordan is one of the most whiny, entitled people that's ever worked for TNA
I don’t really watch impact much and missed when this was going on at the time, I hope she is able to redeem herself because I can’t lie she was pretty dope in this video
For sure. And she still relatively young
I actually watched this as it was going on and it was the thing that got me back into watching Impact again. It's honestly one of the most underrated and interesting storylines done in modern wrestling over the last few years imo.
Please keep the 'Shove it man' duet opening for every video!
I do not believe so, Tessa Blanchard was the most popular wrestler TNA had at the time. If they wanted to generate any buzz about their product, this was the best way. If she can get along with the rest of the crew, Id like to see Tessa in a few matches.
It was actually a pretty good feud between Tessa and Sammi it's a shame she got fired the way she did
She is a top talent, shame about her attitude. Plus at least she wasn't booked weak against. The men she was going against
Great video! I don't even watch TNA and never seen a women wrestle men since Chyna in WWE. This Tessa seems awesome. I wish I could've watched her!! 👍👍👍👍

I think they were, I stopped watching TNA when they put the belt on her, the X Division Championship no problem, but the World Title, making her beat Brian Cage, who is 3 times bigger than her, and Sami Callihan in the process
And when we see how it ended I think I was not wrong
Anybody with common sense saw that this was the worst decision any wrestling company could make and that they were destroying the credibility of that world title, to the point of anybody won it after her, they would never be seen as a legit world title holder. It makes no sense to have a woman win the Men's world title, when there is already a world title for the women. Not only that, but nobody is buying that 5'5 Tessa who is 125 pounds, is gonna be the top of the HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISON!!!

Tessa had/has all the potential to be the GOAT tbh. But as with most talent it all comes down to attitude. She truly just keeps getting in her own way.
Tessa was great, She did a great job as champion. Little did we know she was a complete nutcase. The ego on her to hold the title hostage lol.
Even Jarrett didn't do that
Dumbest things ever made in professional wrestling:
1. Brock Lesnar breaking the streak
That said putting your world title on a woman just devalues your women's world championship.

i think she should be back in some sense. i was skeptical when she started the feud with Sami but she definitely changed my mind the more i got into it. that feud was the only reason i tuned in to TNA at the time. she was def as brutal as Sammi and took as much as she gave. every wrestler has "attitude" in one way or another but that's what makes them more believable.

She can definitely go in the ring
Can we see some WWE ECW content eg sandman, sabu, Tommy dreamer ect Marcus cor von or matt strikers wrestling in WWE ECW

Tessa Blanchard - All of the gifts, none of the common sense. Arguably women's wrestling's biggest "what if's."
Terrible. I remember reading that at one point they wanted Stone Cold to sell for Chyna and he just straight refused, and he was right to do so. No offense to this Tessa, she looks like a very solid performer, but this sort of thing diminishes the business and makes it embarrasing to be a fan.
