Vanquish Soul in Master Duel has a problem with it's Kashtira engine being obliterated by the consistency hits. BUT it now has King Dempsey and is still a great Shifter deck. It also is one of the best decks at using the Horus engine, as it is a deck that can use the normal summon well, and the Horus cards can be attributes to show, or make XYZ plays, or even discard an extra Shifter that you had no use for anymore. Heck, the deck can even use one field spell Walls of the Imperial Tomb and use the fire Horus boss monster better than ANY other deck can as a one of, to balance your total elements. My version ends up with 10 dark (3 Imsety, 3 Borger, 2 Mad Love, 2 Shiter) -- 9 earth (3 Maxx C, 2 Ghost Belle, 2 Caesar Valius, 1 Pantera, 1 Qebehsenuef) -- 9 fire (3 Razen, 3 Ash Blossom, 2 Jiaolong, 1 Horus the Black Flame).
MD definitely tainted my view of Runick. So many people choosing to play it as a floodgate shell solely to stall your opponent out until you milled them out made me despise Runick, but after putting together the Fur Hire build some time last year in the TCG I fell in love with that deck. So much so that when they did the TCG ban list event in MD THAT was the deck I played. Runick did nothing wrong. All Runick cards to 3. Ban all floodgates. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
I feel like Runick cards actively encourage stalling, since if you can stall enough to get fountain online it's basically GG. So it's only natural that people will pair the engine with floodgates to slow the opponent down. I personally find it tiresome to play against regardless of if there are floodgates involved or not.

Kashtira cope so hard now that the topping list is on Arias and fourteen traps because Arise Heart can't solo carry anymore so consistency hit being bad isn't exactly true. Heck one of the the point of SE being so good is exactly because of its hyper consistency
So as someone who does Pure Horus alongside using it as an engine for other decks, Horus as a pure deck beside people who run stun, is a deck that just focuses on swarming and XYZ spamming as well as procing their effects when applicable. Honestly, it's really fun. People tend to do things like Horus Slifer or run Kaijus or the Vanity cards as well for a little extra power or combos. The thing with Horus is that it's extremely flexible and can grant any deck a strong Lv 8 xyz engine and presence. Also Horus is just fun in general. Fun cards that can get the job done without being absolutely broken. PS: Been trying Vanquish Soul with Horus. It's pretty fun.
In my experience Horus is a deck that is kinda close to be overpowered, but playing it with Kashtira makes it OP, even tho it's not nearly as bad as something like snake eyes or rescue ace
I have been playing melffy spright where the melffy package is actually a significant amount of cards. I think it makes the deck way stickier and let's me abuse elf + little knight combo until they probably ban elf next month.
The difference is that both decks works very different, SHS is a one card combo that has many starters and extenders and then you have Floo that the ideal way is to open with Robina or Map + Eglen and Floo almost always had consistency issues so the consistency hits on Floo actually matters and SHS doesn’t really matter at all. Floo also lost Stormwinds while SHS didn’t get any card banned in the deck.
In the year of our lord and savior Payne the Firelord? Ask that to Konami (There's a YT channel that plays lots of water decks: Lord Tr...something) Edit: Lord Trent
I feel like Rescue Ace wins over pure Snake Eyes mainly due to how many negates it can eat and still do a full Fire combo using the single copy of Poplar
Tearlaments is so funny, it justworks. This week I was fucking around with horus-tear and the shit wins games that has no business winning, I love and hate that deck with pasion
For me personally both Unchained and Floo feel off. Could be that I play those two decks out of the bunch the most, could be because I like both very much (mainly because of the story [Floo] and game play [Unchained]). Floo really has not a consistency issue as far as I can tell (3 Advent, 1 Map, 3 Pots, 3 Jack in hand, 3 Robina, 3 Unexplored winds = 13 starters/consistency cards with chain block potential). Also you can play a Simorgh package to create a total lock if you draw either Egland or BoP and Antispell. Also lose one turn in a format where most decks only main harpie as an out is just a killer card. So floos main problem is going second. Also Unchained has really only one weakness and that is Maxx C. And if you plan your deck accordingly you can go for game even when Maxx C hits the field. And going first you never ever play through an Unchained board. I mean the board is nearly immune to board breakers (super poly doesn’t do anything, evenly does nothing, Harpies directly benefits Unchained, even DRNM or Imperm don’t work as you still has Rage in GY and Shavara in hand with follow up ready). Because you main deck Thrust you can out nearly any board from your opponent with board breakers (evenly for Rescue, Talents for SE, Disaster for Lab, Herald for Purrely). So maybe Floo in B and Unchained in low A.
mathmech has already suffered from power creep, deck has 2 good cards, decks nowadays have nothing but good cards, what mathmech needs is more support, but should lock you out of links
1:31 Actually, with all their stuff limited, Snake-Eyes is missing their absurd follow-up (while also being weaker to Nibiru), so beating them is a lot more feasible. Part of what makes Snake-Eyes unfair is this resilience, you're looking at this pretty one-dimensionally.
Salamangreat CAN “play around” nibiru, but because it can’t threaten a negate you basically have to hold extenders through the whole turn. It ends up being not worth it to play around Nib in Bo1 IMO. In TCG games 2 and 3 it’s more important
Stun deck although good. But in the consistency is not great compare to dinomorphia which is very risky deck that playing LP. Currently dinomorphia waiting for iron thunderhammer, where once release it will replace all solemn strike and also the counter trap of all time due it is almost omninegate.
My take about vanquish soul is that playing it solo is sorta mid as you say but I have found moderate success adding VS with Swordsoul, not enough to bring it as a meta contender but definitely at best putting it 1 letter higher on a tierlist. Ending with an omni plus razen does a lot more than you'd think, plus you get access to a burn set up through Sinister Longyuan that although bad can catch some people off guard especially with borger burn.
I'm not sure if there are many of this deck on Master I, but boy I'm having a blast playing Mikanko control Usually go first and abusing the non-target effect. Usually end up with the new trap that steal a monster and other mikanko interaction / hand traps. Then you can just finish it up on the next turn with traditional Mikanko style.
I’ve tried to play salamangreat. And to be honest it feel like complete shit in ranked. Such a brittle deck that needs to not only open a lot of gas to get a decent end board but also interruption counters. The main problem is sof severely handicaps your best end board. And if you get your debug negated in that build you have to have a specific extenders to play on. Plus if the link one gets negated and you can’t get access to the field spell it really hurts your ability to get into a raging Phoenix search and the field nuke is completely off the table. Deck has like 3 really bad choke points plus it’s really weak to Maxx C and nib. You can play through nib with weasel but that’s assuming you get weasel and you weren’t hand trapped to death before. A deck can’t be highly competitive when it needs multiple cards to resolve in order to get a respectable end board. Plus it’s weak to the most powerful and common counter play

And there I am, playing pure black rose dragon
As a volcanic main who is currently 6-0 in gold I can say that my pet deck that loses to a single ash is s++ tier thank you
SHS, rant: consistency hits don't work.
Floo: the deck's consistency was hit, it is dead.
Floo didn't JUST lose consistency. It lost barrier.
@@anonymous38741the thing is, Floo at full power without barrier statue would be a horrifying top tier deck
And I am over here playing Atlantean and Dragunity
Wish you could include any "water" based deck like Ghoti or something like that
In the year of our lord and savior Payne the Firelord? Ask that to Konami
(There's a YT channel that plays lots of water decks: Lord Tr...something)
Edit: Lord Trent
The general consensus is that the best Salad deck is baronne salad, which does not lose too nib
Man I wished we had tear hits in tcg I much prefer the power of kitkal as an actual consistent combo instead of giant combo nonsense
"They should release some of the other Runick spells" what does that mean? MD has all the Runick cards in TCG and OCG
Is Naturia a good rogue deck now that the Horus engine is here?
Yes absolutely
You should play it with naturia runish
Where would Sky striker land on the tier list
I feel like Rescue Ace wins over pure Snake Eyes mainly due to how many negates it can eat and still do a full Fire combo using the single copy of Poplar
Tearlaments is so funny, it justworks. This week I was fucking around with horus-tear and the shit wins games that has no business winning, I love and hate that deck with pasion
Go 2nd Gren Maju doing me justice in every masterduel format 😁
So maybe Floo in B and Unchained in low A.
what is your opinion about the galaxy-eyes deck?
You couldn’t rip floo from my cold dead hands. I would like more than one empen and some more pots
Wait til we get the rest of the chimera/illusion support
mathmech has already suffered from power creep, deck has 2 good cards, decks nowadays have nothing but good cards, what mathmech needs is more support, but should lock you out of links
Would love to see salaman great being played
What are your thoughts on Dinos? So close to hitting my first ever Master rank with it, but not there yet lol
definitely good enough to make it to Masters, between the decks on the Tier List though I think i'd put it in low C/high D
I know pendulum decks tend to struggle as of late but how do we think Endymion compares to the current meta?
r-ace is so much fun and it has so much gas too! also it's BIG MECHA FIRETRUCKS!!
How about shiranui ?
The setting 4 backrow with turbulance is so painfully slow, that I stopped playing the deck.
What do you think about blackwing?
Can I still ask what tier Blackwing would be at?
Salamangreat CAN “play around” nibiru, but because it can’t threaten a negate you basically have to hold extenders through the whole turn. It ends up being not worth it to play around Nib in Bo1 IMO. In TCG games 2 and 3 it’s more important
Josh never fails to rank the best decks in master duel
How do you feel Ninja’s can do in the current meta? They’re a structure deck in MD and my current go-to for climbing.
C tier, the consistency is Very bad , and die for 1 hand trap on hanzo most of the time ,
Very Fun deck tho i like to play.
Stun deck although good. But in the consistency is not great compare to dinomorphia which is very risky deck that playing LP. Currently dinomorphia waiting for iron thunderhammer, where once release it will replace all solemn strike and also the counter trap of all time due it is almost omninegate.
What do you think is the highest possible rank to reach with fortune fairy?
My take about vanquish soul is that playing it solo is sorta mid as you say but I have found moderate success adding VS with Swordsoul, not enough to bring it as a meta contender but definitely at best putting it 1 letter higher on a tierlist. Ending with an omni plus razen does a lot more than you'd think, plus you get access to a burn set up through Sinister Longyuan that although bad can catch some people off guard especially with borger burn.
What about Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon deck?
How about True Draco? I'm playing it with some flood gates and some monarch cards.
Can someone give me the paleo deck list or where I can find the best decklist of it ?
What about dragon link?
Played spyral since master duels came out
Opinion on mikanko? Ive been having a lot of fun giving my opponent a kaiju and smacking into it recently
How well do you think GiskiNeremanas/Spright can do in this Masterduel Format?
Are challenger cups only available for US and EU based players?
Volcanic ftk is insane can go second and Horus makes it so good
i found your channel champ! finally
What ever hapened to Spright? just MaxC shouldn't be enough for it to see so little play (they can also goliath lock you if you do drop the bug).
My trying to revive my Ogdoadic deck after the bishbaalkin ban
What about Marincess? How does that compare to, say, Floo, since that’s the other deck I play on ranked (missions notwithstanding).
May put them at the bottom of B... Wave + Argonaut are far from enough, not to mention while having good recovery, they struggle early if interrupted
I see. Well, thanks, anyway.
Plunder will be S Tier once we get the wind ship
Looks like Bystials don't really have a place in the format currently.
I'm not sure if there are many of this deck on Master I, but boy I'm having a blast playing Mikanko control
Usually go first and abusing the non-target effect. Usually end up with the new trap that steal a monster and other mikanko interaction / hand traps.
Then you can just finish it up on the next turn with traditional Mikanko style.
How about Vaylantz, no floodgate version?
What's your thoughts on blackwing?
Red Dragon Archfiend / Bystial could be min tier B
You forgot cyber dragon in s
Yeah..... Floo is nuked in MD since we all lost out pots, that's why i switched to dinomorph and VS
