How are you feeling about this for early atlast mapping and clearing? mid zoom, zooom zoom, or just go right to bossing? How about for blight other non sanctum farms
My personal strategy is to clear the atlas enough that I can grab the atlas passives I want for bossing, then rush to level 90-94 or so and evaluate which boss is the most profit and live there. You can also full clear your atlas if you like, no wrong way to play. It’s a serviceable mapper (I generally 40/40 on this build every league) but if you only want to map I’d probably look for something else unless you are a trap enjoyer and want to check out the play style.
I followed your guide as my second build. Handholding guide, dedicated and thoughtful notes through each phase of the build. Also I was so shy from crafting before, your videos helped alot. You got my like and sub. XD
Thank for the updated guide, used yours as a baseline last league and it got me my first few ubers. Also so many fun ways to minmax the build with jewels, uniques and items. Highly reccommended
It's also going to be solid for doing the new mechanic stuff where you have to spawn monsters for resources. You just spam/setup traps and instant kill the mobs.
Last league I played ice trap saboteur to lv 93, made some currency and went to an ice nova of frostbolts hierophant. Hope I can manage this one since i'm not an experienced player and that ice trapper was the only trapper i've ever played. Anyway, eager to try this one. Thanks a lot!
Got to 200mill dps on PoB last league making this build my highest dps character ever while crafting most of my gear (temple mod gloves, triple fracture sadist garb, and 8 link helmet). All thanks to this guide.

So about the recombinator tech, there appears to be changes from the previous league, as so far, i've attempted 4 times the method described in the video ( crafted spell damage / +1 fire on one side and crafted spell damage / +1 all spells on the other ) , and ended up every single time with only the spell damage. I haven't done nearly enough attemps to conclude anyhting, but so far the odds seem way lower than what they were before. edit : 7 attemps now, Been able to keep one of the +1 modifiers twice. Never both of em.
I will use the power of traps, to do Blight Ravaged maps. I dont like bossing at all, but i hope the single target will help me kill the Bosses. Cant wait to play this.
I wanted to ask, I loved this build in the last league up until I hit t17's and then I just felt like I'd hit a hard wall. Do you think with the changes to T17s and changes you've made to the build that the wall I felt will be easier to overcome? Love your work!
I’m expecting somewhat better Energy Shield and considerably lower hp T17 monsters. You’ll still want to run a more defensive setup for T17s but they’ll be easier according to the info we have from Mark.
I love lightning trap build, but it falls off with damage later. But i would highly recommended lightning trap as getting to maps, to transition to explosive after, because i was straggling fallowing your leveling strat.
Can somebody explain gurdians blessing, zealotry, and summon holy relic? If i cast this it stays up like zero seconds? Does it stay up longer if gems are maxed at level 20? Otherwise casting this every five seconds is not gonna be fun?
you need to spam explosive trap on boss, like shaper or any other, than press summon holy relic than zealotry, this gives your traps to detonate with 40% more demage.
This build is good at blasting solo targets, so you could go for essences with something like destructive play. Farming shaper/elder invitations is also an option
I'm really happy with where my build is. 130 EHP and good recovery with recoup and ghost dance. 30 mil dps. Do you have any plans to create guides to help push this build further? Should I refer to your affliction or earlier guides? Thanks for everything!

was wondering if there was any merit to purity of elements over determination on the tanky version and running a watcher's eye instead also makes the load on the suffixes a little less
I was thinking about using the 4L lightning warp set up you had on your previous characters. Is there any benefits or disadvantages this patch to using lightning warp over leap slam? Thanks.
Enduring Composure on a small cluster, or you can roll the eldritch body armour implicit. Both are good. Enduring Composure is quite a bit better if you are using Immortal Call.
Great setup man! Im at lvl 75 with this build right now. What I would like to know, when do you switch in the 2nd sceptre or foil sword? In all the PoBs it shows a shield. Thanks
@@gratsurded hey thanks. Would this be through endgame? Im at level 89, where higher levels are getting hard to push. Keep getting one shotted by random rares. Been using a shield the whole time. I have the body armor, but having hell 6 linking it. So I been using an astral leather from my 1st character that has about 2200 evasion. Hoping once I get the kintsuge 6 linked, my evade will be better.
I am following his notes, about enduring composure and such, but it seems those last 6 levels are important to open up those gem slots, because at the moment I dont have the passive points for it.
@bpjgamestation6148 I dropped points else where just to get the endurance charges in red maps. For the kinsugi your probably better off buying a linked one for afew divine. I ended up spending as much fusing as it would be to just buy one

One thing to consider is the new basetypes have very big stat requirements, have you thought about how to handle that? With the current PoBs we only get ~200 dex and int, while the new T1 es helmet is shown to be 224 int and the new evasion base body armour is 293 dex. That's gonna be tough to gear around I think. Do you think the reduced stat requirement is gonna be a viable way to mitigate that? Or is there some other workaround? Supreme ostentation don't seem like a good idea.
@@foxxxooo I don’t want the body armour, I’ll be using a unique chest and then into a hybrid base (Sadist Garb if they don’t buff hybrid bases) to take advantage of Escape Artist. I don’t think 224 int will be too big of a deal, I want the new ES bases on gloves/hat/boots

My main problem with Warden is that it will be paper, though I’m sure I’ll try it out anyway. I’ve played explosive trap on 5 different ascendencies already 😅

I decided on a trap build and have been looking at your POB as a bit of a refrence even though I use another trap. This might be super obvious but how do you solve the mana issue? Bit late on reply, but it'll work until later on. Something simple right now is throwing on a dark seer to get +2 then using a jewel to get brittle. Works well in t17s and ubers

Major god you should take Soul of Arakaali and Minor god you should take Soul of Shakari. But keep in mind that you should be freeze immune. If you are not take Brine king as major god. If you have One step ahead allocated in your ascendancy tree you are freeze immune becuase your action speed can't be lowered. If you want you can look up his PoB of FearlessDumb0 there you can see what he is taking as Pantheon

@@dennism.5145 the league start version I typically wouldn’t discuss self chill as it’s expensive to get off the ground. Just a decent trigger weapon will likely be enough currency to roll a fully functional high damage endgame bosser (20-30d). I play the build into selfchill though as part of progression, you can take a look at my Slavedrivers setup from last league for a sense of how to put it together. I’ve made several videos covering the how-to

is my understanding wrong or is shrapnel shadow nerfed? i had a 17 million damage difference for the normal explosive trap in POB (both level 21/20),and even ingame it felt like the dmg is slower than usual
I dont know what I do wrong, I followed your Tree trying to gear up but I am still nowhere close to 100crit Chance. I am lvl 90 and sitting on 38%. I just dont know what I am doing wrong.
@@axees8755 in PoB you need to enable brittle in calculation. Should increase your crit a lot. And make sure to use a diamond flask. You should enable Power charges aswell. In the PoB of fearlessdumb0 (early bossing pob) he has 32% crit, but with brittle, flask and power charges turned on in PoB it increases to 84
@@TheRomanoLV hexblast trickster is better than any league starter ive seen so far its just not as clickbaity for views like random bleed build or LS. lances tri stack hexblast was as strong as my 3 mirror splitting steel build almost with like under mirror invest also. destroys sanctum destroys t17s etc, tyty is starting it for a reason
@@TheRomanoLV i wouldnt do this trap build for sanctum tho on league start seems kinda rough. if you wanted to do sanctum on like day 2-3 then its probably fine though?
Hexblast is a better sanctum build. Explosive Trap is mechanically at a disadvantage for that content because of the way damage per trap is metered over one second. There is a note in the video description about it.
Bear trap and sunblast do not work together. Bear trap is hard coded to do nothing if it's duration expires, there's even a note about it on the bear trap portion of poewiki.
Bear Trap works fine with Sunblast. You need an enemy underneath it and Skitterbots will trigger the trap on the enemies behalf; it’s the same mechanism that grants you Frenzy/Power charges.
@@fearlessdumb0 My testing Bear trap is the lowest priority by like a lot for the bots to trigger with no difference if bear trap is the first, last, or in the middle of your traps thrown the only way it will trigger from skitterbots if you just throw bear trap and not throw anything else until the skitterbots detonates which I don't think I can tell you how awful that is for total dps.
I’m not really sure what you are saying, but the rotation for bosses phasing in is: 1) preload all of your Expl Traps 2) before boss phases in, throw Bear Trap Your Skitterbots will trigger them immediately and the dps uptime is still 3s with no duration modifiers. It’s not something you should be using mapping, it’s a single target skill.
@@fearlessdumb0 skitterbots only triggers one existing trap every 3 seconds. Not all of your traps. Skitterbots have a priority system based on skill for what they detonate is what I'm saying my findings and testing are. And bear trap is of a lower priority than Explosive trap. It doesn't matter what order you throw traps in for context of skitterbots detonation (theoretical dps it does but obviously). So if you have even a single explosive trap out and undetonated when skitterbots does their 3 second CD trigger it will trigger explosive trap and not bear trap. It will only detonate bear trap if there are no targatable explosive traps for it to detonate (ex ones that are arming/in the air or actively triggering)
in your Mid-Game PoB, you use sunblast. but there is also charged traps gem on the link. sunblast not counts as traps triggered by enemy so is there any error or should we avoid using sunblast?
I don't, I'm sorry. For future perhaps, just not enough time to manage one yet. One tip for this league is check out Archdemon Crowns as you can get a lot of free power from the +2 gems implicit (ex, awaken Conc effect + either Trap/Mine or Hypothermia and bench +1 AoE gems for a ~1div 6L with +3 gems on it). Amazing amount of power for very cheap and you can still use a chest of your choice.

i think this is a solid build not just for bossing but for other strats like calcification essence farming. can pretty much insta pop any essence

In the notes is says Wyrmsign will carry you all way through to t16 maps. How are you getting endurance charges though? I only get frenzy and power.

Hey, I'm not sure if you mentioned this (at least in this video) but I was wondering if the recovery from Polymath actually works on this build?
It works early on when you are leveling with arms brand / fire trap but once you switch to alt ailments it no longer provides recovery

Skidder bots will still activate your traps and charged traps should work

Judging by feel, I would almost say that mapping feels better without sunblast. To me. For now.
You using maybe sunblast + swift assembly support? Then its very possible to overthrow your traps

Is there anywhere specific information about the self chill approach that I'm missing?
@@dennism.5145 the league start version I typically wouldn’t discuss self chill as it’s expensive to get off the ground. Just a decent trigger weapon will likely be enough currency to roll a fully functional high damage endgame bosser (20-30d). I play the build into selfchill though as part of progression, you can take a look at my Slavedrivers setup from last league for a sense of how to put it together. I’ve made several videos covering the how-to

i made around 5 divines, mostly with trading and heist, which feels terrible, and now struggling to get all the stuff i need for boss carry service.
finished 2 void stones, now i im on t16 at 87 lvl.

No but it will be widely available and cheap. Last league I bought it for 2c in A7, everyone is yoloing the gem color swap and even meta skills won’t cost much during campaign

is my understanding wrong or is shrapnel shadow nerfed? i had a 17 million damage difference for the normal explosive trap in POB (both level 21/20),and even ingame it felt like the dmg is slower than usual

I dont know what I do wrong, I followed your Tree trying to gear up but I am still nowhere close to 100crit Chance. I am lvl 90 and sitting on 38%. I just dont know what I am doing wrong.
You using brittle? Its a crazy boost to crit because it gives base crit where all your crit chance synergizes with

@@axees8755 in PoB you need to enable brittle in calculation. Should increase your crit a lot. And make sure to use a diamond flask. You should enable Power charges aswell. In the PoB of fearlessdumb0 (early bossing pob) he has 32% crit, but with brittle, flask and power charges turned on in PoB it increases to 84

@@TheRomanoLV hexblast trickster is better than any league starter ive seen so far its just not as clickbaity for views like random bleed build or LS. lances tri stack hexblast was as strong as my 3 mirror splitting steel build almost with like under mirror invest also. destroys sanctum destroys t17s etc, tyty is starting it for a reason
@@TheRomanoLV i wouldnt do this trap build for sanctum tho on league start seems kinda rough. if you wanted to do sanctum on like day 2-3 then its probably fine though?
Hexblast is a better sanctum build. Explosive Trap is mechanically at a disadvantage for that content because of the way damage per trap is metered over one second. There is a note in the video description about it.

Ritual fits well, it’s a high damage AoE skill.

Why is sunblast that cheap this league. Its 1 chaos its crazy
Bear trap and sunblast do not work together.
Bear trap is hard coded to do nothing if it's duration expires, there's even a note about it on the bear trap portion of poewiki.
Bear Trap works fine with Sunblast. You need an enemy underneath it and Skitterbots will trigger the trap on the enemies behalf; it’s the same mechanism that grants you Frenzy/Power charges.
@@fearlessdumb0 My testing Bear trap is the lowest priority by like a lot for the bots to trigger with no difference if bear trap is the first, last, or in the middle of your traps thrown the only way it will trigger from skitterbots if you just throw bear trap and not throw anything else until the skitterbots detonates which I don't think I can tell you how awful that is for total dps.
I’m not really sure what you are saying, but the rotation for bosses phasing in is:
1) preload all of your Expl Traps
2) before boss phases in, throw Bear Trap
Your Skitterbots will trigger them immediately and the dps uptime is still 3s with no duration modifiers. It’s not something you should be using mapping, it’s a single target skill.
@@fearlessdumb0 skitterbots only triggers one existing trap every 3 seconds. Not all of your traps.
Skitterbots have a priority system based on skill for what they detonate is what I'm saying my findings and testing are.
And bear trap is of a lower priority than Explosive trap. It doesn't matter what order you throw traps in for context of skitterbots detonation (theoretical dps it does but obviously).
So if you have even a single explosive trap out and undetonated when skitterbots does their 3 second CD trigger it will trigger explosive trap and not bear trap.
It will only detonate bear trap if there are no targatable explosive traps for it to detonate (ex ones that are arming/in the air or actively triggering)
in your Mid-Game PoB, you use sunblast. but there is also charged traps gem on the link. sunblast not counts as traps triggered by enemy so is there any error or should we avoid using sunblast?
Sunblast still works with Charged Traps so long as you have Skitterbots aura on, they will trigger the traps for you and generate charges.
I played traps last league and NEVER AGAIN.
Why? Had a blast with traps in necropolis lol
I followed a FearlessDumb0 league start guide before and it was awesome. Traps may not be your thing, but his builds are solid.
I was able to solo get my 4 void stones with his guide, sorry it didnt work out for ya

I don't, I'm sorry. For future perhaps, just not enough time to manage one yet. One tip for this league is check out Archdemon Crowns as you can get a lot of free power from the +2 gems implicit (ex, awaken Conc effect + either Trap/Mine or Hypothermia and bench +1 AoE gems for a ~1div 6L with +3 gems on it). Amazing amount of power for very cheap and you can still use a chest of your choice.
