I plan on playing Explosive Trap next league (of course following your knowledge about the skill :p), sad about the hatred nerf but seems that Herald of Purity gives around the same damage as the new Hatred and you can fit in the new autoexertion + enduring warcry. Traps as far as the eye can see... thanks for your patience. Lots going on. See you on the beach! SSF: Solid, though you'll want to prioritize crit chance more as you gear up since Alternating Sceptres are rare. Leadership's Price is the most farmable access to Brittle. Corrupt all the high evasion body armours you find looking for +2 AoE / +2 Trap or Mine. See the notes section for a bit more info. Sanctum: I would not recommend this right out of campaign, mechanically Explosive Trap is at a disadvantage vs other skills like HBM because it delivers its damage over 1s instead of instantly which will make progress more difficult. Once you have damage later in the game (T16+) sanctum is fine if you aren't using a Sunblast, which also delays your damage. HC/SSFHC: The PoB is not configured for HC, you'd need to prioritize things differently. Don't yolo the SC trade PoB in hardcore without being comfortable adjusting it for HC.
Haven't looked at a trap for years... what mapmods brick the build? Similarly, how is it for things like expedition (apart from the obvious immune to fire remnants)
@@evilme73it’s an exceptional Expedition farmer, that’s what I do on league start. Bricked mods are mostly no recovery related, otherwise anything your build can handle defensively
Amazing. Can you please include a leveling note section at the end with how to do it on explosive trap from lvl 1? Support gems and just general tips? Your experience with the archetype can come up with something better in 10 mins than someone like can do in two full days. I just know how to make currency in this game. So I know this seems backwards but I am also waiting for the mageblood version of the build as for me personally that is around where I end up end of week 1.

@fedorsilva7687 tell me whats nerfed,what i understood is that the explosives is only a nerf for small hit box bosses (not many as i know.)And i also used the normal version most of the time.

Just wanted to say, after leveling with this build and just breaking into white maps, awesome work. Very detailed, the POB and notes section answered everything for me and I love that I can see what the very next step is for me to progress. I am praying this build isn't nerfed up in 3.25 because I plan on making it my league starter.

Now, i have a high paying job, i got married to a wonderful person and every time i kill a boss, i get a divine drop. I don't care about what all the noobs like zizaran, steel mage, and that noob ben_ say, this build has dramatically changed my life and i HAVENT EVEN PLAYED IT yet! that's just how good it is!

I loved playing DD back in the day, but I like this better due to not having to click a second skill. Just my personal preference, but I find the activation time (traps don't do damage instantly like DD does when you click it) to be a non issue for me. the preset on bosses that spawn in or activate upon getting closer, is so fun. You throw a stream of traps, walk forward, boss spawns or becomes 'damageable' and then it's life just drains from him. really satisfying for me. I hope you love it too
Great video/guide, I did your build in 3.23 and had a blast. I got really lucky, found an alternating sceptre in my 2nd blueprint and bought a max roll Sunblast for 1d on day 3( really lucky as I’m playing on console and the difference between the pc and console as item availability is really bad). I’ll follow ur guide this league as well, big thanks for the videos and the guide!
I do leveling with explosive trap then merc lab spam for the shrapnel, kinda comfy I don't mind high efficiency run with rolling magma and stuff, thanks forthe vid
Thanks for this awesome guide! I have just started playing it as my first alt in SSF. I had to farm normal lab >50 times with my Explosive Arrow league starter, but it finally dropped last night, so I got started. I know it's not optimal, but I'm playing it "right off the beach" as you mentioned in your video and I'm already having good fun. Hopefully I can get my guy powerful enough to follow your late game/high-end version updates in your later videos. Thanks again - SSF is good fun and rewarding when key items finally drop :)
elementalist is rarely mentioned as an option for these builds, but it's insane with the golem pack and slavedrivers hand. very durable too with juiced chaos golem and free endurance charges, and stone golem solves the hp costs

Oh yeah.. forgot to mention. Carcass Jack felt really good for an early body armour until you find Kintsugi. Gonna try and find a 5-link of it at the beginning, since it's a pretty common drop

Glad you talked about Born in the Shadows being extremely underrated. Out of every ascendancy I've played, I swear that node makes a trapper/miner with 2.5k life feel immortal. Something about it just feels so much tankier than armor/block/spell suppression, etc. (at least in my opinion).
Day 1 this felt great. I've never played shadow. I got so lucky with rarest through act 5. I'm fairly confident that I will be good to map once campaign is over already. Cheers

@@AdraelKnight Was having a hard time killing boss. It was not the ET skill not ET Shrapnel but I was having a easy clearing and a soo hard time killing boss after T12 even with or without sunblast. Maybe with more time and more investment I would have done good but I just switch for something else that's why I'm here again :) I'm pretty sure the problem was me, not the build.
@@AdraelKnight btw I still have the SAME issue... after 10 div spend... This "boss" killer, can't kill a fucking tier 6 boss.... I hate myself, should have play something else.
Been excited to play this build on League Start and was looking forward to this guide + POB, really appreciate the detailed Notes. For SSF would you potentially recommend Inquisitor over Trickster? Suppression may be a problem but seems it would solve most other problems. obtaining Brittle is a concern. Love the build guide. Thanks!!!
Inquisitor is a great SSF choice. I think both will be fine, you can invest in crit on gear / tree to mostly offset the loss of Brittle or farm a Leadership's Price from Heist in SSF for Trickster.
I finished my PoB too with 2 different trees for fire trap into explosive trap. I'll build it on Elementalist because the transition from fire trap is super easy and shaper of flames is probably the best ascendancy node for ignites early on.
Thanks for the updated guide, again quite concise and well explained. I like your sort of dive into the ascendancy choices. I personally think leveling with fire trap and explo trap is super easy and the time saved with Rolling Magma is not for me personally (as you said clunky). Really enjoy your guides and glad to see this trap has seen some love. The damage for the invest is just ridiculous and the clear has been solved. Was also the first build I did HotGM with. Anyways, have a good start, will be interesting to see what you do with Sabo. I also wonder how MB prices will pan out this league considering the nerf and the supposed higher drop rate / more card drops.
I'm playing this build, so far so good! With 4L my lvl is 80 and beating unidentified yellow maps not that hard unless league mechanic doing some wierd things
Sure, it took a nerf from Hatred losing the more cold multiplier but it's still viable as a bossing league starter. Very little changes from a progression stand point from beach -> ubers so I'm only planning to post a small update to the previous guide. Working on the patch notes update video now, will be out today.

I know it's an explosive trap guide, but what are some thoughts on other trap skills that I can sub in for a faster mapping experience if I want? I havn't played traps in probably 5-6 years, RF/FT doesn't count ofc. Will do some of my own testing when .24 goes live but if anyone has some info lmk
Lightning Trap is probably the only better clearing trap than Shrapnel, and only with the patch notes changes for 3.24. If you had asked me before patch notes dropped I would have said Shrapnel is the best clear trap in the game. If you have a Sunblast then Ice Trap of Hollowness is pretty decent too.
I've never been so excited to start with this build. I've always followed your incredible work, but I ended up opting for other builds to league start, this time I'm totally convinced. I've noticed that u take a trap mastery that makes ur traps take no damage and i don't really know what's the point of it if u can explain briefly i would be grateful because i don't remember using it on other trap builds.

try it first on standard..Act1-3 might be tough if not familiar with Rolling Magma+Flame Wall..need to do Siosa for Arma Brand to make it easy

Thanks for the updated guide, again quite concise and well explained. I like your sort of dive into the ascendancy choices. I personally think leveling with fire trap and explo trap is super easy and the time saved with Rolling Magma is not for me personally (as you said clunky). Really enjoy your guides and glad to see this trap has seen some love. The damage for the invest is just ridiculous and the clear has been solved. Was also the first build I did HotGM with. Anyways, have a good start, will be interesting to see what you do with Sabo. I also wonder how MB prices will pan out this league considering the nerf and the supposed higher drop rate / more card drops.

With 4L my lvl is 80 and beating unidentified yellow maps not that hard unless league mechanic doing some wierd things

Sure, it took a nerf from Hatred losing the more cold multiplier but it's still viable as a bossing league starter. Very little changes from a progression stand point from beach -> ubers so I'm only planning to post a small update to the previous guide. Working on the patch notes update video now, will be out today.

Check the config, I left the math in there for swift assembly. I think it’s a crime that they don’t adjust dps for it.

I know it's an explosive trap guide, but what are some thoughts on other trap skills that I can sub in for a faster mapping experience if I want?
I havn't played traps in probably 5-6 years, RF/FT doesn't count ofc. Will do some of my own testing when .24 goes live but if anyone has some info lmk
Lightning Trap is probably the only better clearing trap than Shrapnel, and only with the patch notes changes for 3.24. If you had asked me before patch notes dropped I would have said Shrapnel is the best clear trap in the game. If you have a Sunblast then Ice Trap of Hollowness is pretty decent too.
I've never been so excited to start with this build. I've always followed your incredible work, but I ended up opting for other builds to league start, this time I'm totally convinced. What would be a good farm recommendation for this style of build? expedition and boss kill/gamble? Do you think invitations will continue to be profitable?

I was wondering, do you have any atlas strategy tips, for a beginner like me, trying ET for the first time? Eventually I'd like to try and get to boss farming, but with the new t17 I'm a bit confused as to how it all works - hopefully I'll figure it out.
Thoughts on playing this build SSF as a starter? I would like to try SSF for the first time, and this build is the best fun I've ever had in this game. When I'm thinking about it, besides the jewels theres not too many uniques. Thoughts?

You listed what leveling filter you use (thank you), but I missed where you might have listed or talked about what filter you switch to for the mid-game stuff? Is there one I can 'follow' for that, as well?
I just use Neversinks and move up the strictness as I get deeper into bossing

I've noticed that u take a trap mastery that makes ur traps take no damage and i don't really know what's the point of it if u can explain briefly i would be grateful because i don't remember using it on other trap builds.

@@fearlessdumb0 I noticed my traps have a very low overlap %. I believe pob calculations says I’m below 25%. Besides gem level is there a way to improve it? I noticed your build sat around 75%

Since we cant sustain the guardian maps with the missing sextants, would u just run normal invitations for the Maven splinter?
