This machine has around 5 variants globally where the drinks menu is different. On the Australian one it has espresso, coffee, and doppio+. Espresso pre infuses and then brews. Coffee brews without preinfusion as it’s a longer pour. Doppio+ is a strong espresso with a longer preinfusion on a higher dose. Each is programmable by volume with only the pre infusion the unique identifying factor of each method. It’s a shame you didn’t do Over Ice as I think that would be comparable to the Long function on previous models which pulses water at lower pressure for a drip-like (and far less bitter) cup. Overall, this is actually one of the more capable machines on the market as it has a steam milk function, three types of brewing, and a grinder that is capable of being set too fine - this means it has the range to be dialled in perfectly. It’s quick, it gets hot, it’s not too noisy, and the milk carafe is very easy to clean compared to the bulkier Lattecrema units. Also, MyLatte uses ALL the milk in the carafe. It has a sensor behind the carafe that detects when low so it stops. There are markings on the carafe so you can choose which milk based drink you want. That is a clever and intuitive way of making things easy and less complicated for people. In Australia we also have Cappuccino Mix on ours - this pours the shot first then the milk. For the price and performance this machine cannot be beat. I left a dual boiler setup and have managed - with some knowledge of coffee - to dial mine in really well. Espresso is top notch. Delonghi uses conical burrs which are more forgiving than flats, like those used in Phillips. You’ll get a lot more full bodied shots with the conicals.
I am loving it, it makes perfect coffee. Didn't know what the Doppio+ does. It is super easy to use and maintain. I have used it both work beans and grounds. One tip for users. If your milk starts to lose its froth make sure to pull the small plastic tubing from the black housing and soak it in hot water to remove small cakes on milk particles. The froth then returns. 😊

There really is no such thing as an espresso bean . They are all coffee beans but just blended differently. You can use any brand for both. Look for a bean that is good for both. A local roaster can tell you...or buy from us if you can :)

@@ecscoffeeincwhat I thought was Pre ground coffee light is the coffee grounds light. It was a dumb mistake on my part. I emptied the coffee pucks and everything has been fine. Thanks for your response.
This machine would not be able to do espresso macchiato, but you could try to program one of the milk beverages to be smaller to try and replicate an espresso macchiato!
The default coffee mode will only fill up about 40% of a regular coffee cup. I did the adjustment setting, but still, only got it up to about 60% of a standard-sized coffee cup. Is anyone else experiencing and annoyed by that? In the meantime, my workaround is to do a custom fill 45% and just run the coffee mode twice.
Most supeautomaic machines will brew just under 8oz of liquid coffee. The brewing mechanism inside only holds so much groundcoffee and that is what the coffee-water ratio nets out to. Adding more water would just make the coffee watery.
Wendy, love your reviews, thanks! This sure looks like a re-skinned Philips 3200 series. It will be interesting to see if the brew group is the same when you do the comparison.
Both are aimed at a similar audience and both will produce a decent espresso and milk drink. I was splitting hairs but it came down to what I could but off the shelf locally. I love my Evo - blown away by espresso quality
YES, we've had our De'Longhi Evo only 4 weeks and the filter light is on, needs replacing already! Not impressed tbh. Also the milk frother has stopped working, just spits out hot milk. We clean it after every singe use, which is recommended, it's sooo annoying. This machine is NOT worth the $$$.
@@JJJ12987 Have updated water hardness to 2, and filter light has turned off, thank you. According to the manual, water filter must be changed every 2 months max. Milk not frothing is the bigger problem, a common issue with this unit according to online reviews, and an absolute dealbreaker for us.
The machine does have some problems. One that often occurs is when you connect the milk container. The device does not recognize the container. In addition, the device often freezes. All in all a lot of waste of coffee beans and money.
Hmmm... This machine definitely has a sensor on it to recognize how much milk is in the carafe, but the freezing should not be happening! We recommend reaching out to DeLonghi to see if it can be fixed :)

what about espresso macchiato?
This machine would not be able to do espresso macchiato, but you could try to program one of the milk beverages to be smaller to try and replicate an espresso macchiato!
Love the Seamaster! Great review!
Thanks for watching!
How do you get the milk to come out?
If you only want warm milk, use the by-pass without adding any grinds then hit latte. Only milk comes out. Works for me.
@@patriciahill1073 What do you mean "by-pass"? Can you explain in a bit more detail?
Hello from Romania
Can you make 2 cups of coffee at once?
I wanna get this machine as a xmas gift It looks pretty good So u just need coffee beans in there no capsule needed?
No capsules
We shall see!
Both are aimed at a similar audience and both will produce a decent espresso and milk drink. I was splitting hairs but it came down to what I could but off the shelf locally. I love my Evo - blown away by espresso quality
@Norman Osborn Glad the Evo works for you!
Where do the grinds go
There is a bin behind the drip tray
I’ve got a brand new one and the latte option isn’t available for some reason
You may have purchased the one with the wand and not the latte crema system. There are two
@@ecscoffeeinc I fixed it last night and realised the part that holds the milk was on backwards but looked ok but obviously wasn’t. Works fine now 😂
Can I just do hot milk without coffee?
How can i clean it
Hi Eman! There are a few cleaning processes for this machine... Which one are you inquiring about? :)
When she sipped the results, all she got was milk foam. Is that the desired result?
Does it make very hot coffee, I want a machine that makes very hot coffee
We find the espresso very hot, though other find it not hot enough. If you want very hot coffee a drip machine may be better!
Is there even one automatic at any price point that can do a 25 second shot with 40, max 50ml out?
Price?
Current pricing can be found at www.ecscoffee.com
Can you make a hot chocolate with this machine just use the milk, not the coffee?
Does this machine use filters in any way? If yes, how often are they changed? Love your videos keep it up!
@@Grizzle123 Thanks!
@@gabby_9942 Just want to check, did you measure your water hardness and update the configuration?
@@JJJ12987 Have updated water hardness to 2, and filter light has turned off, thank you. According to the manual, water filter must be changed every 2 months max. Milk not frothing is the bigger problem, a common issue with this unit according to online reviews, and an absolute dealbreaker for us.
@@gabby_9942 Sorry to hear that. I'm replying to you drinking a lovely latte from the machine. Definitely hope you get help from their support.
To bad they didn't have somebody other than Brad spit doing their commercial..
I was hopping they show how to clean there the trash goes.
Are you referring to cleaning the drip tray? Super simple! Just remove, empty the grind, and wash :)
If it’s such a good machine why do you have to work on them quite a bit to quote you ? I appreciate your techs being good but that statement is concerning.
DeLonghi has so many different espresso machines, and we service both in and out of warranty machines! Many of the machines we see are out of warranty and older. Just like a car, every few years of so you may need to do some maintenance 😊
What happened to Rebecca
Rebecca moved on from ECS but she is back for the holidays...maybe we can talk her into another video:)
@@ecscoffeeinc congratz to her! I assume ECS coffee was a stepping stone for her career move. And yeah it would be awesome to have not only Rebecca but recent former staff to reunite for a holiday video. 😇
Why doesn't the machine make foam in the milk? Because its just plain milk that the machine adds.
Error simulator
Garbage machines. Less than 2 weeks at nilk comes out not frothed.
Have you run a milk cleaning cycle through the machine yet?
@ecscoffeeinc no we rinse it. With the button. And clean the hose.
