After my gran died there was a total of 20 Tv Licence letters sent to her house, despite several calls to the TV licence people informing them the owner of the property had died, the letters never stopped and we had a large pile of letters by the time the house was sold.
I would have opened the front door and gave them a real piece of my mind Because every sentence would have about five square words My last words would be F OFF you disrespectful next Tuesday leave before you get hurt
That's because of how stupid the whole system is... It is the property that's licenced and not the individual residing in it! Even if you do declare that the occupier has moved, emigrated, gone to prison, passed away... whatever the case may be... The letters WILL NOT STOP - in fact they may well become even more frequent because the licencing idiots do not know if anyone has moved in since the declaration was made. They have no idea at all: so the letters will just keep pouring in because all they do know is that property does not have a licence associated with it. Even if you tell them that the property has burnt to the ground - the letters will still keep coming because the simple fact is... they won't believe you.
@@Paul-li9hq so if I'm understanding correctly, despite my gran having died 3 years ago and her house being sold it's entirely possible the new owners of the house are constantly getting TV licence letters addressed to a woman who's been dead for over 3 years????
@000FIRESTORM1989 of course not. The letters are addressed to 'the occupier' because the tv license goons have absolutely no clue as to who might be living in the house....
I had one asking if I was going to be in on a pacific date. I replied saying I’d be in on that date and if they wanted to come in they’d need to book a appointment at the cost of £150/hour with the minimum of 1 hour.
I have a TV, I don't watch live TV, I haven't watched live TV for 15 years. I get letters from so called TV licencing ie Capita which I treat with the competent that deserve. I don't read them and they go straight into the bin. I watch Netflix and my vast collection of DVD'S. I will not pay for a service I don't want or need. The BBC I s an antiquated service that is no longer viable any more. The more people stop paying the better.
I haven't had one of these letters for 2 or 3 months now, I used to get them regular as clockwork once a month, what's up ? have they given up on me ? ... seems unlikely .
I agree with all you say Jon and well done except the part about being polite to the goons you don't have to be rude or swear at them but just shut that door in their face there is no need to be polite they have come to your door to scare and intimidate you into getting a licence so politeness isn't an opption these goons are scum I have had 2 of these letters Jon giving dates in my 18 months of licence free both timed they failed to show and let us down as we waited in all day lol keep up the good work Jon love your videos
What if you were watching an Eastenders DVD from a box set though? But regarding your saying none of the people received visits on the day stated in the letter (and I knew myself that it would be that, because I've had loads of letters the same as this one. And certainly never received a visit, ever.) is that that is pathologically deceitful behaviour. Intentionally stating to someone to expect something. When in fact there was never any intention to do any such thing, is totally mental in every sense of the word.
@@Paul-11 I thought about that. I only accept cash and don’t give my name. They can write back to book a appointment. Then pay at the time of the visit.
Yes, I got one of these a couple of weeks ago saying, they were going to stop by on a certain day this month. I've had 43 letter so far, many are saying that they might turn up, and they've never showed up yet. They are terribly unreliable.
Hear is a idear, if they did not come to your house, on the day on the letter, put in a clame for los of earnings, for taking time off work, so that you could be in on the date they said they were going to visit.
Has anyone tried relying on a No hawkers / cold callers sticker and pointed out they are not welcome for that reason alone? I cannot imagine it working but could add to a package of measures to show how unwelcome they are.
Yes, sure I'm going to take a day off work to accommodate the goons. I'll be quite happy for them to come round but only if they pay me £300 in advance.
All you got to do is ring them saying you don't require a licence and they take you off the list for 2 years then do the same after 2 years. I did it today and it took me 5 minutes to do.
No. Fill in the online form using a disposable email account but remember you don't need to enter you name or phone number. Just an email address is enough.
For training provided metres have consecutive numbers consisting off between 0-9 So in other words only qualifications you need is your one times table
It’s not hard to do that job training provided It’s just a bunch of numbers from 0-9 And they put those Numbers onto the electronic device Stevie Wonder could do that job

Same when my parents died - even a visit where they put a handwritten card through the letterbox.
I have not had a TV for 12 years and have informed them. I have had visits and literally 100's of letters latest one today.
I've had that letter several times, and they didn't visit on *any* day.
A visit from a Salesmen not an "Enforcement Officer "
I had visiting tvl goons they get as far as posting a letter in my post box just to let me know they turned up. Not addressed to me

One bloke took them to court for not paying his invoice for administration costs and won. They had to pay out.
The more letters they send out the better I use them to reduce my home heating bill

Good advice as usual,i've not had a hell and damnation letter since December 2021,i feel i'm being left out.
nah, i haven't had a letter in about 3 years, you are not alone
Jon, I think you need a P.A to help you. 🤣

They promised to visit me December 31st.
I have waited in ever since for them to call.
Feel so let down Haha
wonder if you could charge them for failure to keep there appointment
and that you waited in for them HEHEHEH
Good advise don’t worry, I’ve had 5 with dates on. I’m prepared should I ever encounter one. Who are you ? then close that door. 👍🏻
Charge them for your time.
@@marcwareham9351 It’s good, but then they’d have all personal details. At present they got nothing.

Any other non service would turn up on the day stated. I keep getting this rubbish every month. I'd be very surprised if I had a visit.

dD with it what we do, as its addressed to 'occupier' just write on the front 'RETURN TO SENDER' No stamp just drop it in the post box.
Put return to sender on the letter and post it back to tvl. If everyone did this it would be a nightmare for them to sort out.
By doing that ,you acknowledge that someone lives there without license, don’t encourage them
Compensation .how does that work then ?

will you be in DD/MM/YYYY, reply to them with 1 word, NO!
Load of rubbish, I waited on said date and they never turned up. What a wasted day, maybe I should put a claim in for wasting my time.

Does Chili Jon Carne know that you have copied his video?
This is his other channel
Yeah he plugs this on his channel recently
