My home still has no electricity. Broke rain gutters, tree hit power lines, sent power back to transformers then house, burnt wires inside and out. Will be weeks!
I live in Iowa and there was at least one person who died who had been out on a bike trail that got pinned under a tree. Haven't heard about any other deaths.
Sad .. but not that bad ... trees are down next to standing houses ... corn fields flattened... I bet there is some kind of farmer’s insurance for crop damage losses....
We had every property in Cedar Rapids and surrounding towns with no power, some still have no power. We had a category 2 hurricane hit Midwest. Not bad! You tell the people who can't get back in their homes because they sre deemed unable to live in. 100's of homeless people here.
Cindy Beranek It is horrible, I think about the people going into fall/winter, some without a place to live. This is so wide spread it is unbelievable in so many ways. If people have not seen the pictures, or driven through the country side, they need to. It’s catastrophic. Every school in CR is damaged. Businesses torn apart. Homes unlivable and severely damaged. Cars smashed. Iowa is tired, but they fight on! Thank you to the volunteers, some from out of state.
@@sherriheadaccordion people just don't get it. This is day 11 of cleanup on my property. I think i have another 2 weeks ahead of me. Trees still laying on my fence for pasture. I have hardly left to see the rest of Cedar Rapids. I hear it is really bad.
Many Prayers For Iowa And I Hope All Of You Feel Better !!!
My sister's house was damaged because the tree fell in their roof. Thanks God no one got hurt especially she have a 9 months old baby.

I was right in the middle of the storm and it was the scariest day of my life!

BUILDING GOES DOWN BUT SKINNY TALL TREES IN THE BACKGROUND LOOK LIKE NOTHING EVEN TOOK THE LEAVES OFF. POOR BUILDING CODE
Yes but sone trees like that are extremely wind resistant.
Why isn't the social media and major news stations keeping up with this ?
Jason Nutwell cause it's not corona or trump
Cause the news would rather have trump or some dumb elections right now
Well, you are posting on a video on social media from a major news station covering the story.
We were without power for 9 days and have major damage.
13 days here.
It then hit Illinois not as bad, I did not have power for 26 hours, tons of whole tree downs
Roof caved in buildings and tops down
We still don’t have power here in Central Iowa and likely won’t for a week or so
Alec Sernett I wish you the bests of luck, I hope your power come on ASAP
I didn't have power for seven days I'm in iowa
I live in Cedar Rapids and we got HAMMERED! Cedar Rapids is known for it's beautiful trees and half of those trees are now gone.
No fatalities? Hope everyone is OK-Lives matter.

Davenport and the whole quad cities we got hit SO HARD
Sure did
The small towns in Central Iowa got hit the hardest from what I have seen, they look like war zones
Alec Sernett Cedar Rapids and Marion got absolutely obliterated, and there not really that small. I’m still without power in Marion.
Is power still out in the Quad?
Zach V Yeah we don’t have power down here south of Ames either. It’s insane how widespread the damage from this thing is.
HAARP??
Is me ? It’s a government program to control the weather. It’s based in Alaska I believe.
They burned the Orchards in California. Now they're flattening the fields in Iowa.
It wasn't just a small Iowa town it was several .an cedar Rapids isn't a small town check those facts !!
This was just focusing on the small towns though.
My prayers for The Farmers 🙏♥️🙏
Sad .. but not that bad ... trees are down next to standing houses ... corn fields flattened... I bet there is some kind of farmer’s insurance for crop damage losses....
Winston Smith84 sorry no there’s not farmers insurance. It’s necessary food they grow for their animals and us!
Patricia Schmidt There is crop insurance but it will no way come close to compensating these farmers for their loss.

Mr. Kieselack is a German. Germans are used to work hard. He will clean that mess up.
Cedar Rapids/Marion/Hiawatha no power for a week. Thank God for our neighbors pulling together. IOWA STRONG!

Now wtf we gonna eat
Not the crops that were destroyed. There’s other food in the world-
Still no power here in DeWitt. Haven't seen Alliant here since tuesday.
It's nice to see no one wearing face diapers.
I wonder if derecho insurance exists
Looks rough
That’s putting it lightly
Zac ( in construction ) might have learnt ( but being American - who knows ) that all sheds should have a steel girder frame
I would've named it Greg
I would call it Joekamala
Looks like Beruit
