    I have dislexia, though I do not see words like that at all, on very rare occasions words will seem blurry but for me its more like a word is not there, or a word on a line above/below is before the word in a sentance. Example 1:
    you would read: the dog chased after the cat.
    I would read: the chased after cat.
    example two.
    you would read: the man said hello
    and waved at the children.
    I would read: the waved man said the hello at the children.

      It can be both. For me letters will often switch around to. So in the example he gave I some times see "cat chased after the dog" yeah its annoying lol

    I have Dyslexia I believe with all my power, I see words go up and down, side to side, and are foggy. I cannot read or spell out loud. I write backwards.

    I'm dyslexic & I have irlen syndrome. Without my irlen coloured filter I wouldn't be able to get through school. If I don't have my coloured filter words move all over the page. It's especially a struggle to get through a day at school as copying from whiteboards is a very big strugle for me. Spell checaker is the one thing that helps me when doing homework! I hope anyone whose dyslexic beleives in themselves and know they can get through life even if dyslexia is standing in there way!

    Nice! A few other problems: Getting my eyes from the end of one row to the beginning of the next row - not the one below it, not the row I already read, the next row! Also: dividing the text into words correctly (not seeing words as running into each other).

  • @lexihessi

    I’m dyslexic and I don’t think you quite understand how we read. Dyslexia does not effect our vision. I know everyone’s dyslexia is different but for the most part it’s just hard to process it takes us longer to read. People believe they know what dyslexia is because yes we get words mixed up and stuff but we don’t see stuff like this we see it just like everyone else. Whenever I mention I’m dyslexic I usually get the response like “oh so you see words upside down flipped around and mixed all over?” And I’m like “no I see them exactly how you see words” dyslexia effects the brain that processes language, not sight.

  • @idkpoop5713
    @idkpoop5713 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I'm dyslexic but only see words move when I've been reading for over 20 minutes. But if I look at a sign on a street or something to read it the words don't move. The words only move for me if I have been reading for a while and get tiered. Dyslexia doesn't even effect vision. The real reason dyslexics read slow is because of how they process words, not see them. I hate it when people put incorrect information about dyslexia online because then everyone without dyslexia will think it's actually true. You really should have done more research on dyslexia instead of just looking at all of the myths online about what dyslexics see. If that's happening to someone they should go to an eye doctor, not go get tested for dyslexia.

      The person that made this is dyslexic.....

    • @idkpoop5713
      @idkpoop5713 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dyslexia doesn't effect eyesight at all! It's simply just looking at the words on a page of a book (words looking normal) and as the dyslexic processes the word, letters like q, p, b, d, u, and n get mixed up in their head. The letters get mixed up in their head because the letters and not 3D. Since all dyslexics think visually, when you say the word box, the dyslexic thinks of a 3D box in their head. But when you say a letter like b, the letter b is not a 3D object and sense it is flat like paper, it can be flipped in the dyslexic's head as they are processing the word. Do you understand?

      Jessi Tunes The person who made this video may have dyslexia, but that doesn't mean that dyslexics see what is in the video... it just means that if you see that, then you probably have problems with your eyes and most likely don't just see words move, but also everything els you see. Dyslexia doesn't effect eyesight at all, it just effects how they proses the word in their head. The person who made this video obviously isn't an expert and doesn't know what they are talking about.

    I took a online test to see if I had this because I always mix up letters such as b and d and I really suck at math to a point were I'M on the verge of crying. I can easily get words that's spelled alike confused. But I often see these things online were the letter are out of place and read it with no problem. I'M so confused.

    I have dyslexia and actually when I read the words form together so when I'm reading sometimes I say the wrong word because I can't see it if I don't focus on each word which takes a lot longer then usually just reading really fast and sometimes when I read a whole paragraph the words will look like a bunch of o's

  • @michaelcope1943
    @michaelcope1943 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What about seeing & writing letters upside down, mistaking the letter b for d, g for q, a for o exe or like at the beginning, middle, or end of a word has the letters le for example but when your reading it you see them switched around el
    Also you have a hard time with how letters sound even if you can clearly hear the letter
    Also have a hard time with math reading those numbers writing & seeing those numbers sometimes upside down, backwards

      Typing is actually a great tool for dyslexics. So I assume you just can’t type well, writing by hand is much harder. Personally I feel the letters and words when I type, I can skip the step of having to illustrate every individual character in order. When I write fast (average), I make a mistake every word.

    I'm convinced I have it because I struggle to read for longer than 10 seconds without having to look away and 'resetting' my eyes. But I just can't work out what Dyslexia actually is?!

    • @miked6930
      @miked6930 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cream Soda Might be both because my vision does go blurry and the letters move

    • @miked6930
      @miked6930 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      S Miller then you need glasses because that is not what dyslexia does
      but if you do not want to take advice from a soft drink over the internet you can get tested for dyslexia
      you also might want your eye sight tested too if words/letters seems blurry and move

      Cream Soda I agree with you, if you see words moving and getting blurry you should go to an eye doctor. Don't trust videos online made by people who don't know what they are talking about.

      +Zippers !!! AUTO CORRECT IS AMAZING!!! Thank god we have it in todays society! Yea I use Google Voice features but the computer doesn't always know what you're saying. Being dyslexic is a gift outside the classroom! You're blessed!

      +Zippers !!! Because even though you aren't gifted in the academic world. you are gifted in the real world. Just because we are slow at reading doesn't stop us from being successful. You should take a look at my TH-cam Channel and you'll see it for yourself. Im as dyslexic as they get and I absolutely hate reading thats why I get all my school texts on audio.

      @JoshKrier  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    To respond to some of the comments here: Dyslexia is a general term for reading difficulty in kids who are otherwise functioning "normally". There are different kinds of problems which cause dyslexia. Some of them have to do with visual perception, others with concentration, still others with comprehension. The first thing a diagnostician has to do is discover the source of the reading problem, and then he can suggest a learning plan.
