The gaming industry misuses and exploits their employees to reap the profits of their hard labor, and fire them after completing a game project. This is outrageous and needs to stop!

It’s also sad when servers shut down and everything needing an online connection; it leaves games as a finite experience and developer’s hard work gets disposed of as if it was trash.
Like imagine if you brought a phone, then the company it’s from came and took your phone back because they don’t support it🤦🏾♂️
Yup! We basically rent games at this point. It's pretty much an online blockbuster with the uncertainty of when your lease will come to an end.
I miss the old days of gaming
I right there with you!
This was a great video. When companies lay off her employees, there are no more experienced game developers, who can make great games. Nintendo understands this.
I get sad when I see game developers make a great game (for example Gravity Rush) and then get fired because it doesn't sell well.
I would rather say that the marketing for that game wasn't good enough, but who am I to ask that?
The question for me is, why should I support such companies when you see that there are more ways to save money, as Nintendo has already shown.
That is a really great point! I can imagine there are a lot of highly anticipated games that have been developed by inexperienced game developers.
I would have to agree today’s gaming is about business , corporate , money , and greed , the higher ups are not making it any better gaming is just not the same gaming supposed to be fun
Today? Its been like this for almost 20 years now
@@homeslicehomeslice 🤣 This is true.
These issues have been around for a while. However, it has definitely been magnified over the last few years. Maybe things have to get worse before they get better 😒
@@anOccasionalGamer it all started with the internet.
I agree with all the business stuff. But I dont think art direction doesnt sell games, I think HYPER REALISTIC art direction doesn't sell games. Games like Gris, Stardew Valley and stray are beautiful and the art is part of the hook. We're over beinf impressed by realiam we just want fun worlds to play in.
Yes Yes! Hyper realistic games aren't a selling point. I actually love pixel art or hand drawn art styles for games. I would love to see an Okami art style return to gaming 😅
I hope Astro bot game change Sony‘s mind and make them invest more resources for smaller games I love games like Spider-Man two and the last of us but seriously, these budgets are crazy I think Sony should take some of the Nintendo strategy when making games because these games take too long and today graphics don’t sell game
And when it comes to remake I don’t think they should remake anything that isn’t lower than seven generation. If they try anything do it like remake an PS4 game that just be a waste of resources
I mean, technically, they still put resources for smaller games with like the Indian and Chinese hero project, but I want more in-house small games made my Sony
You know what's crazy 😅 AstroBot has me interested in buying a PS5. That game looks AMAZING and I would love to see more creative approaches to IP like that moving forward from Sony. And I agree, remaking games from the last generation is a waste of resources. Half their players base is on PS4. I can't imagine those remakes being successful.
@@anOccasionalGamer also I think they should start reviving old franchises like sly Cooper considering gaming is way more popular today then back then I know why they stop making the sly Cooper mostly because not single sly Cooper game sold over 1 million copies and it under perform sales wise but it still had a chance to make a comeback especially considering how big gaming is today
@@mr.cheese9571 that would be a great move for Sony. Sly would easily get over a million copies if it had a return! Don’t has a lot of IP that they don’t use anymore.
