I saw the thumbnail, and was like, I need to check out that beard. Then, I heard that intro, and was like, this is pretty dope. But what really did it for me was when you punched that PS5 in the face. At that moment, I was like, yeah, this dude is pretty cool. Then I heard the intro music at the end, and subbed. Very true story, Bro.

I Agree With Your Statement Brosky This Generation Of Game Consoles Really Do Suck Hands down Literally!!
This generation felt like nothing really happened
We got Spider-Man 2 lol

Worst gen: agreed. Businessmen are killing the game industry.
Indeed 🤦🏽♂️
Yup
Thats how I feel when I tried playing 90s games on emulator. All of those games are horrible and I would not of been a videogamer if games were still like that
nah game industry is fine. Steam is booming. Console industry? maybe. Game industry? nope
I'm not sure it's business men. I think it's development time and cost. It's taking FOREVER to make games now days. Example, we knew about Hellblade 2 and even saw the trailer BEFORE the Series launch. More than four years later we are finally getting it. It seems like in past gens if a game was announced and we got a trailer that game was coming out in 24 months MAX . Triple AAA games are costing 2x the budget of a top tier Marvel movie. So at 1 game per console generation, failure isn't an option anymore.
I miss the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 days 😢 that was such a fun time to be a gamer
Trust meee!
I was around for the whole PS1 to PS5 era and let me say the ps 2 and 3 were crazy fun times.

Yes, you should.
@@dark_nightwing_xl2797 who knows how the ps6 will do. could be the same as the ps5.
Just don't buy an Xbox, it's literally worth nothing, you can play all of their games on your cellphone with Gamepass. You still have to look on the list for anything interesting tho, it's like 99% shovelware with some older titles like Halo and accidental good games like High Fi Rush or High on Life, both of which are on PS5.
Next Gen will be a waste too.
Hellblade II is almost the only game this gen that utilized a console, and the gen is almost over.
It won't be better with new consoles, because the developers are the same old doing the usual with no extra effort.
i miss when consoles were better than PC
😅 times have definitely changed
They still are price wise
@diltberg9627 not really, cus your paying a fixed price for a limited graphical adjustment while a pc can do more than just gaming
If you take into account long term PC is far cheaper than console, when you take into account:
>Paying for online
>Cheaper games due to a competitive open market and key sites
@@NE-oj4be that’s a fair point. People don’t take in account that paying for online services over time could have contributed to purchasing a PC

I think the biggest problem is games take so long to develop now. You're not getting GTAIII, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas all in one console generation anymore.
Big facts! Even with the games taking longer to make, they still rush development and release buggy/ unfished games just to make a buck.
If it has to do with hyper realistic graphics, couldn't they just downgrade it to compensate the cost and time?
@@cliffturbo2146 not without massive backlash from the gamers that can't handle anything less than absolute perfection in their games
@@cliffturbo2146 I suppose they could lol indie studios do it all the time and make great games just the same 🤷🏽♂️ not everything has to be hyper realistic. But I guess they feel the need to focus on graphics since the consoles are powerful, might as well take advantage and make games look stunning… at the cost of resources and time, making it more challenging to be profitable while selling millions of units.

Valid argument but the issue is the companies keep making new systems, this should be good but it ain’t because what all do they do better ? You can’t even run these old games at 60 FPS because internally the games are capped
@@spadesofpaintstudios1719 valid argument to you as well I don't think it has anything to do with this generation I think it has to do with games moving forward that the jump from Jen to Jen we all can agree has gotten less and less impressive after games entered the 3D environments. That's not to say that the jumps haven't been impressive but the jump from the 5th generation to 6th generation is still the largest jump we've ever seen and the jump to each new generation has been decaying exponentially.
In my opinion the video talks about the consoles themselves when really it should be directed at the gaming industry as a whole. The reason Nintendo is able to put out as many games as quick as they do is because they're locked at 720p and 30 frames a second. Also, they play it safe and pretty much just make iterative sequels that don't really do much then the previous version of that same game did. How different really is Mario Kart 8 from Mario Kart 7 or how much different really is smash ultimate versus Smash Wii u.
Game development costs and time to create are at an all-time high so why would they not release cross generation games when they already have a dedicated market for those consoles?

@@spadesofpaintstudios1719by making new systems, developers are less stressed by limitations and overall have an easier time releasing and producing games.

This IS the worst and honestly I cant see it getting any better. These companies and some developers are greedy af! They forgot what it was like to create and put out a COMPLETE game without all the micro transactions, etc. Bring a system back with cartridges so we can feel like we own what we purchase or just physical media and not straight digital. This generation got gaming down bad bro!
Sony sold you games you already owned on PS3 for full price during the PS4 generation. There was also a period of time between 2013-15 where most of the games that came out on PS4 sucked. Also, the games on PS4 had terrible frame rate, would crash a lot, had terrible online and you couldn’t do nothing about it. The PS4 was the worst.

@@davidaitken8503 Yes. Nintendo are mainly releasing complete games with minimum number of bugs and sometimes no bugs at all.
Unlike Sony, Nintendo think games should be games, and not wannabe movies that cost 5 times as much as the Blu-Ray.

Elden Ring, Final Fantasy 16, Baldurs Gate 3, Palworld, Helldivers 2, and more came out this generation. First party titles only matter to console wars folks. Also when the PS4 came out it was using old tech since it was supposed to come out during 2010-11 but it was delayed due to the price of technology at that point (2008 recession). There wasn’t a real generational leap in graphics and when there was the frame rate was cooked because the PS4 couldn’t handle it.

Back in the day, when a SNES game came out, the reason you wanted to buy a SNES console was because they were newer, bigger games that the original NES couldn't play. The games required a new system. But now, the consoles are so powerful that you can still make games for the PS4 all day long and there is no reason to buy a PS5.
You have to make games that run exclusively on the new hardware so that people will buy the new hardware. The experience is supposed to be something such that if you are playing a PS5 game, then that game can't run on a PS4.
Some of the PS5 games look like PS3 games. I got Rise of the Ronin. It is a fun game, but looks like it could have come out on the PS3. or been a PS4 launch game.
@@marks2807 facts
The reason so many games are also releasing on PS4 is due to the microchip shortage which led to a shortage of PS5 consoles. A similar situation happened with the Wii U. The original Wii was so incredibly popular that developers kept making the same new games for both the Wii & Wii U for years.

Xbox and PlayStation have both become obsolete. Both their exclusives are on PC and PlayStation exclusives are overrated anyway. They’ve become the same repetitive cash grabs
That’s the sad truth. Hopefully there are better days ahead.
How are they obsolete? They can still play the games you buy. I’ll never understand why pc releases affect console gamers that only play on console. There are people that prefer consoles and there are people that prefer pc gaming and the overlap is fairly small. Having more places to play a game is only a good thing for consumers

This is the woke generation.
Consoles aren't consoles anymore, but rather extremely restrictive PCs that lack customization options. IMO consoles should play offline features of games out of the box with no patches/updates, split-screen local multiplayer should be a given where possible, transferable data via memory cards (so you can bring your full Tekken roster to a friend's house) and PHYSICAL GAMES. Xbox is more interested in developing gaming services and swallowing the industry to ensure a monopoly. I've heard rumours they want to acquire Nintendo. PlayStation has ZERO respect for their brand's history. Can you imagine an NSO type service for PSN? PSP, Vita & 1 - 4 library extensively covered. Classic editions of past PlayStation console's controllers with modern compatibility available to buy online? That would be the bare minimum of what I'd expect when paying for PSN. But they'll probably never do it. I think it's going to take PlayStation going the route of Sega for the brand to become even a shadow of its former self.
Wow… well said. I like your take on this. Games were more thought out and developed with the pressure of not being able to patch the game. As a result, franchises were made. I hope Sony doesn’t take the Sega route but I guess anything is possible 😅
Exactly. Offline, split screen, plug n play is what consoles should be about. Instead if this fixation on hardware power and photo realism.

PS2, Dreamcast,Xbox, GameCube era was peak. Been a downhill slide ever since.
7th was way better, in my opinion. It might be the generation that introduced DLC, but honestly there's nothing wrong with DLCs as long as it adds a ton of new content. 7th, 3rd and 4th are my favourite generations.
I'm nostalgic for the 6th gen now, but when it was going on I honestly thought the video game industry was in decline.
@@Aewon84 Opinions are opinions, but Im not sure how you could have thought the industry was in decline lol. There were a ton of games in that generation. There was a ton of innovation in games such as open world in the GTA and Shenmue saga, Splinter cell lighting effects etc etc. Halo really reinvented FPS on consoles. Then that generation introduced interactive and destructive environments. Not to mention you had to be optimistic about the future of online gaming. That generation made you think gaming was only going to get better. The next generation introduced the red ring of death for Microsofts console, and that was probably sonys worse generation with Nintendo stepping away from the competition. Improvement to Online gaming in the 7th generation is the only thing that saved it imo...I respect opinions, it's just when you think about it your opinion makes no sense lol..

This console generation actually made me decide to switch to pc. We are just now starting to stop “cross gen games”. There’s been no absolutely amazing games that made me think “wow I totally could only play this on this powered hardware”. My ps5 has problems with its hdmi port, the special pa5 ssd expansion I bought for it randomly bricked itself, games and applications constantly crash. All in all console gaming doesn’t feel like the cheaper or more simple option anymore. And exclusives aren’t anything amazing and the ones that are always end up on pc anyways. I’ve grown up playing PlayStation but this generation really made me realize that pc might honestly be the better route
Yikes, that’s really unfortunate. Sorry the console gave you such a hard time :/ if you aren’t in a super rush to play what’s new, pc is definitely the way to go. ghost of tsushima just dropped on pc, and I can see spider man and the rest coming in a few months too

@anOccasionalGamer Thank you. I've officially finished the video and I disagree, for the most part. I look at my installs on PS5, and it says 150 in console storage. It says 442 in USB extended storage. It drops down to 147 and 19, respectively, when applying the PS5-only filter. That says to me that I have plenty of games to play, whether they are games that are third party, some of the newer PS1/PS Pre-releases, upgraded versions of PS4 games, or all-new PS5 games. Sure, you brought up the games that are also on PS4, but those are worse versions of the games. It's like saying there's no reason to buy a PS4 because you can just play Metal Gear 5 on PS3.
I will say where I agree with you, is that I bought the PS5 expecting more games like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. More new IPs like Returnal. More games in established universes like Horizon. But, thus far, this generation has basically been carried by Insomniac, as they are the only first party studio to release three PS5 games (yes, including Spider-Man Miles Morales). I don't know what happened to Naughty Dog, as they have brought nothing new. We're not seeing anything from Sucker Punch either. In that regard, which is admittedly the main point of your video, Sony has been disappointing with the lack of first party games.
I don't particularly care if PC gamers get the games two years later on or whatever, because to me they are still PlayStation games at their core. But, they do at least have to be there.
P.S. I don't regret buying my PS5 at all, but I do regret not waiting for the Xbox Series X to drop in price before I got one too. I just wanted to be able to play everything, for the first time since being a kid all through my 20s last decade, where I only ever just had a PlayStation and never went out of my way to get an Xbox.
As of today, I have 19 native PS5 discs (and an unknown number of PS4 discs with PS5 upgrades). There's one advantage over PC gaming, where there's no such thing as physical there anymore.
Sorry for the long read.

I hope so too!
Back in the 1980's and 1990's each console was different and had different CPUs and other hardware that wasn't directly compatible with each other. You could port one game to another console, but you had to actually do the port.
Now-a-days we have more standardized CPUs and software. This means that whatever game you are making, most likely its compatible with all of the current gen consoles.
Also for PS5 and Xbox Series X, these consoles arrived during the pandemic and due to supply chain issues, even if you wanted to buy one, you couldn't find one in any of the stores.
You almost said everything.
I absolutely agree. It's the worst generation.
That’s why when they Announced that E3 was going away it was a sad occasion!! E3 forced each company to show up with their best!! Now without E3 these companies can drip feed us information or with hold information from us completely. Summer games fest just isn’t enough.
Aayy you have a solid point there!
There hasn't been a good E3 since probably 2010. And I mean a GOOD E3, not a mostly bad E3 where one or two companies come out swinging with bangers after bangers. The death of E3 is not the issue.
E3 showcase was🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏👍👍 thanks man for reminding me of good old days.
Nintendo doesn't try to be something it's not. It knows its limitations. Indie devs port from pc to a handheld format. Fun is the focus!
Ps5 has the same issue as the ps3 did later on, when they removed ps2 game compatibility. Xbox360 came out earlier if I remember right, so more people rolled with the 360, and just felt like a more quality machine (i was a ps fan, but 360 with oblivion and halo was the goods). The library for ps3 also felt so small compared to the 360 because of the console release times being a while apart.
The time to develop these hyperrealistic graphical games takes a looooong time, and the fun part doesn't matter. Gaming has kind of lost its way (except for indie titles).
That's exactly why Nintendo is the G.O.A.T for me right now. They prioritize fun and their games are a blast to play!
I was a ps fan back then as well lol but I eventually got a 360. And I 100% agree with you.
I mostly play indie games now adays for that reason. They're fun, well thought-out, and provide unique gameplay/ story telling experiences. The gaming industry just isn't what it use to be :/
@anOccasionalGamer 💯! It's been so much fun with things like omori, sea of stars, the escapists ports and all the other games that should be playable anywhere. Nintendo found what theyre good at and make games for fans of entertainment!
I don't really care about graphical upgrades if the game is bad, sony game devs need to back up and think about making fun stuff! Resident evil was scary. Final fantasy had good stories, and metal gear solid was like a movie you got to play! It was fun, because they couldnt use graphics as an excuse for bad gameplay.
Sony and microsoft both need to start making new exclusives and take risks, cause the 50th release of skyrim is getting oooold

Last console I ever bought was the 360 and I still play it at times and collect games for it. I noticed gaming going downhill since 2013, and it's only gotten worse today. Seems like there's no incentive to pick up a PS5 or Series X since all the exclusives can be played elsewhere and asides from better graphics, gaming hasn't changed much since 7th gen except for DEI propaganda and ways to nickle and dime you. Even the PS4/One gen was a disappointment with the exception of Falllout 4 and RDR2. If I do go back to modern gaming, I'll go for the Switch 2 and maybe a gaming PC for games with extensive needs. Nintendo is not a good company honestly because they don’t release retro games like that and they keep rereleasing the same games with a high ass price on top of that the switch graphics processor sucks only Nintendo branded games look great on it games from other consoles that get ported to the switch however the graphics look terrible as hell.
Nintendo be like Kendrick in this console race.
“Muthafuq the big 3… Ni$$a it’s just big me!!!”
This is the best console generation in terms of power, but in terms of content and games it’s the absolute worst. Not only is this the worst console generation, but it’s the worst generation period. The world is getting worse by the day with prices going up, less organic food so we eat poison, rumors of war everyday and the most bland follower generation not to mention entertainment is unbearable nowadays. I seriously don’t think there’s anything much to look forward to and it’s only a matter of time before the nwo sinks in and Christ returns. Only thing to do now is to pray and turn your life around and get right with god, you have no excuse when you don’t even have any good distractions now.
Amen to that! Well said, I agree. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽 Christ is coming back and we have to be ready! We know not the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. It’s no better time to get right with God. 🙌🏽

There is absolutely no reason to have a console anymore none. Just get a PC u will enjoy way more. Pc is really the only way to go, i dont see why i would want a ps6 or any futute console when all the exclusives are on pc nowdays . Plus u can always uprage ur pc and just get a new graphics card. My 4090 is beyod any PlayStation console that will come out in the future
Nintendo has been killing it 100% this generation. A severely underpowered hybrid console backed by some fantastic exclusives that have been genre-defining.
Facts!
We’re in the middle of the consoles life cycles another reason is games take time to make a lot of time in fact. As technology advances will see games take longer to make. My suggestion would be to check out indie games and old school games.
That’s a great suggestion! We’re on the same timing 😅 I’m always on the hunt for indie games.
this generation barely even begun; every console generation had a handful of games of that defined said generation
7th gen; Wii Sports, Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Skyrim, GTA V
8th gen: Doom, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Witcher 3, Last Of Us Part 2
9th gen: GTA VI ??
yeah, we're just getting started now.
current gen more like the filler generations
Ima start saying that Lol 🤣
@@anOccasionalGamer by all means please do😂
Truth, and anyone who doesn’t agree is too young to know better. First generation I’ve owned all consoles, yet I’m going back to play the classics to fill in the gaps.
Ain't nothing like the classics!
Oh, the irony of this comment. Remember the console generation that was so bad it caused a Crash? Or what about the one where all games were just copies of the same game?
@anOccasionalGamerTrue.I always back to clssics! Best one's❤💪🤘
Returnal and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart are my only highlights of this Generation
As someone who's been around since console generation 2, I can tell you that there's never before been such a lack of enthusiasm, excitement, innovation or entertainment in the industry. At least during the crash of 1983, we had the Atari fire sale where we all loaded up on the dirt cheap games
100% correct. Haven't gotten any of the consoles yet from this lost generation. Not sure if I even will.
The PSN for Helldivers 2 controversy is still fresh in my mind
Yeah, that was absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary smh
@@anOccasionalGamer yea, completely unnecessary 😑

After playing FFVII and FFXVI I can say the 500+ dollars was worth it. Alongside the new Yakuza games. There’s games you’re just too lazy to find them and to actually enjoy them. I rather have quality games like mentioned than quantity.
I like you take on this. But not every game suits someones interest. I hear you though, it wouldn’t hurt to checking out something I wouldn’t usually play. 👊🏽 thanks for sharing yo
@@anOccasionalGamer If you’re saying “someone’s interests” then I can only guess it’s only First Person Shooters or Shooters in general. If you get out of your comfort zone you’d see there’s a shit ton of great games coming this year plus I’d just play my old games I’ve collected but never beaten by the time something like Kingdom Hearts IV comes out.
The marketing around Ps5 was absolutely awful. It should've been released after the pandemic like a year or two. I bought it to play spiderman 2 and FF7 REBIRTH. Now that I'm done, i dunno what to play with
It's bc Sony and MS have done nothing to innovate, it's just better graphics and that's boring
anti-consumer practices - wise, yes it can definitely be considered the worst. but gaming-wise i would argue that the 7th and 8th gen were worse
Lol I was waiting for someone to say that 😂 I hear you
I stopped listening when he claimed no reason to buy a PS5, but a slight incentive for Series X.
Man some people just be talking because there probably in there feelings or whatever. What that being said. They still are making millions off of there franchises, maybe billions. It ain't like there going to stop making them because some people are complaining about this and that. But I do agree with the games taking a long time to develop and having bugs, but that's all games. Ain't no game perfect. If they feel that way just go to a gaming PC.
I agree I picked up a PS5 a few months ago and it seems all of the games I've been playing are ps4 games with 1089 upscaling. Dead space, returnal, a plagues tale reqium, Allan wake 2, stellar blade are really the only games that I own and play on the PS5 that I couldn't get access to on the ps4. There should easily be 20 plus standout titles in the ps5 catalog by this point in the systems life cycle. Only thing I'm looking forward to is mgs snake eater which is supposed to drop late this year and gta 6 which is multi-platform and that's slated to release late 2025-2026.
Most of the Ps5 exclusives took time for them to be ported to PC and we still haven’t got Ragnarok yet and I almost bought a ps5 just for the tiles u mentioned and as of now they got Rise of the Ronin but instead just picked up a Splatoon Switch so currently exploring titles on Nintendo one thing I can admit a lot of they games hold value and I buy physical cartridges vs on Xbox or Ps the disc just acts as a key then u have to download the software defeats the era when the data was all on BLU ray disc
I rate Nintendo cartridges for that. Disc being keys is ridiculous and it’s pushing the industry in a direction I’m not looking forward to. I stand by owning the entertainment we purchase. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if more Sony games come to PC down the line.
ghost of tsushima just came out on steam the other day.
Well basically the PS5 is backwards compatible to PS4, because that's all you can play on the system. Now they want you to buy a PS5 Pro? Pointless!
Buying a PS5 pro to play PS4 games is crazy 😂😭
I'm glad i actually waited to see if the PS5 pro would actually come to exist after speculation for 2-3 years. Im still not convinced to buy a ps5, but i will probably fold and get the pro (as much as it is a thorough and lazy disappointment), and i already know all the games i will and will not get for it. Lets hope sony and microsoft step up next gen.
Yeah I bought the ps5 for the hardware boost because I never got the Ps4 pro. I wanted that 4k and performance.
@@anOccasionalGamerYea.😂 its pontles to buy Pro version if you have Ps5 original or Ps4 that doezn't have errors.
WELCOME BACK TO NINTENDO EVERYONE!!!😂😂😂
And really ask yourself, did you really bought or were interested in all those high end graphical games which the Switch got scrutinized for?
I think the PS5 and XBSX are amazing machines, but the functions they have is more so 'PS4-Pro plus' than it is PS5.

The Anbernic Powkiddy War is more awesome than today's Console Wars.
For me the worst gen for xbox, I just can't get over the lies from Phil Spencer, PS5 has done better than they should be given credit for. Some shady things going on with certain games like The Last of US 2 remastered that nobody asked for. Nintendo been great, but I'm still pissed no Metroid Prime 4. I bought the switch hoping to see that game on it. Yet it looks like that game will be coming to Switch 2
It’s really a terrible console generation. I just don’t understand why people try to justify its good smh
Beats me 🤷🏽♂️
pc with a nintendo switch 2 is all you need
Big facts
But pc eat all of them 😅 even pc eat ps1 to ps3,xbox og and 360,nitendo 3ds to switch all of them emoulator for pc and pc got many big IP of ps4
Yes, true. I think problem is:
1. They launched PS5/Series X in the middle of the pandemic, people went broken financially.
2. Most people are tired of six/seven years shorter lifespan of consoles.
3. Games development took so long these days.
4. Game consoles are too expensive. Even after 3 years of their lifespan price didn't drop. And price vary by country of which is also too expensive in my country at R12 999-00 in RSA thus making them unaffordable to most.
My advice to them is that they must extend the lifecycle of the game consoles to at least 10 years instead or 6 or 7 years to give game developers enough time to develop their games.
I also don't see the reason to buy PS5 or Series X to play GTA 6 at the last stage of their lifecycle. I better wait and budget for PS6 to play GTA 6 on a better console with better visuals and frame rates.
i wonder if the lack of exclusives happening is because there's this climate where companies are making huge bucks off of unoptimized, unfinished games, and just patching them later because, well, they can. they're not on discs anymore. and if you DONT do that, then you're leaving money on the table, as a publisher. so they all do it. cuz the next company will if you dont. and we are taking it. or are we... but yea you made some good points.
that's it right there! They release unfinished games because there's an audience of people that will buy it. I talked a lot about that in my most recent video. Thanks for watching!
And now theres news about a ps5 pro. Honestly, all these games could have been on the ps4, I think gaming peaked that generation with games like rd2. No games so far feels "next gen". There better not be a ps6, let this be the last and just make incredible next gen worthy games. Like fr, what more do we need? Better graphics? More frames? Nah man
Mmm i need to see each individual eyelash on Kratos

I agree!
@@anOccasionalGamer that's why I'm so hyped about the new 40K 2
Credit to you for replying to as many comments as you can.
In my opinion, I agree with you I don't think it's only about the number of games I think it's also by companies forcing us to play online and having shitty campaigns it makes playing the game for a long time hard to do. old cod I buy the game play the campaign to feel out the controls coop to feel out combat the go online to try out what I learned if I suck i can play the campaign again see what else I can learn. This goes for fifa, pes NBA 2k and so on but now the campaign are bad online it cool for like a month but that's it.
I appreciate the credit lol replying to comments is one of my favorite parts of being a content creator. And you raise a valid point. Campaigns were significantly better back in the day and having online was just an added feature to the already great campaign. As you said, games are cool for a month or so then die out. Creativity is defiantly missing in this generation.
It’s crazy with Xbox these days. You can play gamepass on anything. My new tv has gamepass and etc built in. Such a weird time to be a console gamer.
Yeah, this year everyone wants that trickling money that's meant to last forever,
BUT they have to go at it in a way that makes sense for you to buy their service,
you can't just say here is the subscription service and not have anything in it...
[I mean yo could do that but that's just dumb thinking everyone is going to jump in just cause] I know a lot if them think that they should just make profit changes but cutting out all the teams and ties you have just to make more money that'll get you nowhere if you don't have the TEAM to make the games you've payed them for, now I know what they thinking "I can up-charge and payout more for less" though it don't work like that and they know it.
"if you don't have the TEAM to make the games you've payed them for", speaks VOLUMES!!! That's so true. It's going to be very interesting to see where gaming is in 5 years with these money grabbing practices.

when i was in high school being so hyped that the Ps5 and XSX were going to come out. Now in college, instead got a pc, and i feel like, while i love this machine, its sad to say that ive had no real reason to get myself a ps5, other than literally 4 games that im interested in, and the rest just upgrading load times of my ps4. The only reason i will pull the trigger is because gta 6 wont come to pc for a good year prior, and then use my ps5 for that and the shit i still dust out my ps4 for whenever i have friends over. The magic faded away.
The only game that was “Hype” this gem so far was Spider-Man 2 & yes I agree Nintendo has been the #1 console for damn near 6 years now.
Bruh you just contradicted yourself PS4 games on PS5 lol The Wii U games on the Switch. There's way more games convert to the Wii U to the Switch and you guys counted as a new Switch game when it wasn't. Zelda BOTW, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon all Wii U game's the list is a lot longer but I'm not writing them all down lol.
I don't understand the mentality of exclusives it's an old way of strategy. Everyone should play whatever they like no matter what platform they are on. If you care about your plastic has something more valuable than the other then you're just a flaming fanboy.
I don’t consider Wii U games on the switch as new games lol. It’s lazy especially when Nintendo does it, however, it’s usefully for people who didn’t own a wii U. That isn’t a contradiction though. I’m saying for the people who own a ps4, I don’t see a reason to upgrade to PS5 as of yet due to the small list of PS5 exclusive games. Without a doubt the switch has many stand out games that attracted people to the console.
I enjoy exclusivity, it defined the last 40 years of gaming, which lead to developers to be inspired to create bold experiences and out due their competition. I respect your stance on it though 👊🏽
I personally agree and disagree. The PS5 gen so far has been better than the first half of the PS4 gen in my opinion.
With a family and a full time job, I don't have a huge amount of time for gaming, so I'll always have a huge backlog of games to be playing. I'm actually struggling to keep up with all the new games that release. Add the fact that the PS5 plays crossgen games and most backwards compatible games better than the PS4, it becomes a no brainer for me. I've enjoyed the time I've spent playing first party and third party games on my PS5. If I didn't have a backlog and had a huge amount of time for gaming, I might feel differently about this.
As far as exclusive games going to PC are concerned, I couldn't care less about that. It means nothing to me. I'm not willing to spend the money on a highend PC that'll be strong enough to massively outperform the PS5. I like the console experience.
My Series X was a dumb purchase as it never gets used. Nintendo style games have zero interest to me.
Could this gen be better, in terms of AAA game output? Yes. A big reason for that is game development time is longer in general now. Covid also added about a year and a half to most games that were in development at the time.
Could this gen be better in terms of game quality? Well, that depends on how you measure quality. You yourself seem to be somewhat of a fan of Gamepass, whereas Gamepass has zero value to me. Maybe, I'd see it in a better light if I was a fan of first person shooters or Forza type of games. The Indiana Jones game was the only thing I was really looking forward to on Xbox, but since they shown that gameplay, I'm no longer interested.
Overall, I'm happy with my PS5 as I like the first party games and it's where I play the third party games. I'm not happy with my Series X, and I'm glad I never bought the Switch. Look, I get it, people are not happy, and that's very understandable. A bigger issue I have with the gaming industry right now has nothing to do with console generations. It has to do with the fact that devs always seem to want to shoehorn certain things into their games, so they can appeal to a "modern audience".
Thanks for sharing 👊🏽 and I feel you. Gaming is about preference, and I’m not saying that my word trumps all and there is a right or wrong way to go about it 😅 So I appreciate your take on this. If the PS5 works for you, happy gaming man 👊🏽 As you said, there are bigger issues with the industry and I’ll definitely be dropping more content on these kind of topics
Without the backwards compatibility I have no reason to buy a PS5. They’re not going to force me to buy the same games I have on physical disc digital on the PS Store just to play those games on the PS5 and not truly own them. I lost everything I bought when the PS Vita stopped being supported. I’ll never invest in digital exclusivity.
What’s worse is that the games that are finally ps5 only can hardly run on ps5 which makes no sense… only reason Nintendo isn’t recognized is because they refused to get rid of the god awful current switch which can’t run a lot of games correctly. As an Xbox owner I can safely say the system was a waste of money, only reason I got rid of my Xbox one was because games were beginning to not function in it.
What games are you talking about that are ps5 only that "hardly run" on ps5 ?? Can you give us exemples ?

Honestly the only system I would like to get aside from my PC is a Steam Deck. I have a huge backlog of games that I would love to play in a handheld form. If Nintendo makes the Switch 2 basically a portable PS4 performance wise they are going to destroy the competition.
Ayyy that’s an interesting take. Especially with Nintendo getting a lot of 3rd party support and the switch 2 will likely be cheaper than a steam deck too. That’s definitely going to change the game
Nintendo needs to upgrade their system. I want to see a better, more powerful Switch. Better graphics! Only being able to push 1080p in 2024 is embarrassing!
Hopefully sometime next year those issues will be addressed. Nintendo loves to stay outdated for as long as they can before making the leap to what's relevant
Graphics, graphics, graphics…some people will never get it 🤷♂

From what we see this gen, graphics is not too important. Look at the cost to make games bcos of better graphics and 8k 60fps, its ridiculous. I agree some better performance us overdue but no need to obsess over it

I think it's hard for the systems to advance much further due to Moore's Law ending. PC graphics aren't really that far ahead despite all the extra money spent. It's also harder to come up with new ideas for games that have mass appeal (beyond the niche appeal that indie games are better at filling).

Exclusives don’t matter to me, what matters is that I have a box under my TV that plays games. That’s all there is to it.
Also, I’m not sure what you mean by the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles coming to an end as they’re halfway through their lifecycles - they’ve still got several years to go.
The consoles themselves are great. Cooling is much better, SSDs have gotten rid of loading screens but when it comes to new games it’s the worst generation.
They’re great machines, and it’s impressive that there aren’t loading screens. But where are the games lol
Exclusives suck. No game is better for being exclusive. Just make good games. Good first party games. They don't have to be exclusive and they shouldn't be. People should be able to play their games wherever they want. But they need games to actually be able to play, and nobody besides Nintendo seems to remember that. The only reason Nintendo can get away with making their games exclusive is they're the only ones consistently making actual videogames.
