You are right and I apologize for the oversight. My comments about Redwall mostly come from people I know worked there and my own communication when I went through the hiring process for a Senior combat designer role.
You should have well over millions of followers… your perspective in the industry is far away from the other guys … where most people are whining and complaining about Xbox you put together very cohesive perspective on the current issues of the Xbox landscape

Absolutely 1000% the Xbox and Windows platforms should be the same platform. Microsoft has been experimenting with UI accessibility in Windows since the early 2000's. Absolutely crazy with all the R&D money they throw around that we don't have controller-driven Windows UIs slicker than iOS gestures by now. We're more than 20 years in now. There's no excuse anymore.

That Showcase will bring new customers to Gamepass. Everyone that I know that plays games is a monthly subscriber. So while some may do the 1 month and quit model I doubt most people do. Gamepass is way to good to not subscribe as a gamer.
I did a couple of free months, and then quit. I game on PC.
The Xbox client on PC is terrible. You don't get to keep the games. Save files are encrypted and non-transferrable.
15 bucks a month on gamepass in the long run costs more. Plus, you have to pay even if there's nothing you want to play that month.
Other stores sell legit steam keys for the same games at 75% off all the time, and you get to keep them. I can play those in my Deck.
Xbox needs over 100 million people on game pass and they can barely break 30 to keep the service profitable. They are going to keep raising the price as a consequence. It just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

I agree that Xbox should take a step in the PC direction - I mean, for how long now have games been graphically "dumbed down" just to hit decent frame rates on consoles? Looking at the current game engines (and the direction they're heading), I just don't see how console APU's can handle what's coming....unless, of course, there is some revolutionary processor/hardware progress being made that I'm unaware of. That said, I think the future of console is going to be in the handheld market, because they can still use the stuff they've invested so much money into (operating system, subscriptions, branding, etc.) while allowing future graphically intensive titles to be played at decent framerates on smaller screens with lower resolutions.
[EDIT] After re-reading, I should clarify: strictly looking at the hardware requirements, in order to have a "traditional" console (fancy box connected to tv) that can run future games @ 4k 60fps+, you would basically need an Xbox pre-built gaming PC with dedicated GPU (I'd like to see that). But, with the way things have gone with other companies, I can easily see them getting Xbox into the mobile market via retaining their OS/subscriptions/etc. & just force the future titles to be played on lower graphics with smaller screens/lower resolutions for decent performance.

Videos like these needs new viewpoints and make takes without denial. You can't deny Xbox is 3rd place, so stop seeing them as a constant dying brand. Buddy you dont realize that Steam/PC is the biggest competitor to Playstation and Xbox. Microsoft has correctly realized this before Sony, and MS is the only company with a major position in the console gaming market, PC, cloud, subscription service, and game development. It would be insanely stupid to just walk away from the console market and it's console OS platform. That would just make them more like a Valve Steam or Nvidia.
If MS comes out with a handheld it will sell and thats how they can capture users that are currently Playstation users. If they abandoned the Xbox OS platform there wouldnt be anything differentiating from Steamdeck, Rog, Lenovo, and all these other devices.

The answer is the ease of interface and quality of service. Valve doesn't bar you from installing Windows on the Steam Deck and using it to play Game Pass instead of buying from the Steam platform. But they know that the quality and ease of using their Steam OS UI is so convenient that many will just forego the extra work to put Windows on there and just buy and play the Steam games.
All MS needs to do is make a really good UI for Windows that you can easily operate with a controller. Yes you can potentially install the Steam client onto there but if the interface is already slick and set up to run any Windows game (dramatically boosting the library), and easily usable Game Pass client to boot, it will feel very jarring to break away from that in managing a clumsy Steam client interface. The ease of use is a strong way to encourage people to keep buying the games from MS. *Especially* if they don't abandon physical games and start selling PC-build games in Xbox cases that run on the new machine!

@@cooleyYT I'm saying it needs to literally run Windows too, just controller-driven. It's great that consoles like OG Xbox, Dreamcast, and PS4 have computer architectures and even hardware, but you can't just grab a Windows-build game, transfer it, and run natively.

Call of duty makes around 500 million dollars yearly... compared to 60+ billion of the acquisition... I don't think cod will make the money back, specially counting that it's revenue... not profit.

@@Xenosantia Bro, Call of Duty makes $3 Billion per year between sales and micro-transactions....Google it. Add in another $2 Billion per year between Candy Crush and World of Warcraft. Not to mention Call of Duty will be going to the Switch. Just off that Xbox is fine. No one invests $70 Billion and expects to make that back in a year.

You can literally spend 4 times more in Sony or 5 times more in Nintendo and end up playing less.
Xbox is just slowly climbing up to be king. And I’m saying this as a Sony fan myself since I only collect and play PS3/5 games, yet I see what Xbox is doing as is literally on the road to victory, and their showcase was the best one ever.
And they are even being the good guys here bringing almost every game to multiplatform.

@WuAgent He is right. For the past decade PC's have made more sense over consoles. Playstations and Xbox's have become PC's that restrict you. You think in 20 years a Playstation device will exist like the current business model? No, and Microsoft know that. MS is combining their positions in the PC Windows space, cloud, subscription service, game development, console device manufacturer, and console OS platform into the largest position of power in the gaming industry. Sony has lagged behind in realizing the threat of Steam/PC.
@@duderdude4831I think PC gaming has been on top for at least 10 years, but console gaming always has a place. Tinkering with games settings, drivers, and the OS itself is tiresome. I have been a primarily pc gamer for years now, but many just want a platform that works, no nonsense. Unless you use Linux, you have made that same decision: Convenience vs power. Linux is great, but most dont bother learning it. PC vs consoles are the same way. Plus, consoles are already doing great. You can emulate switch games, yet switch sales are still doing great. Console gaming will always have a place, due to being pre configured to work for gaming.
