      I agree. But he either made two mistakes which canceled out each other (using 3% instead of 0.3% and miscalculating) or he was thinking right and only used the wrong words 3 percentage instead of 0.3 percentage.

    • @MrCrystalm8
      @MrCrystalm8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      But isn't 3% of 70kg = 2.1kg?

    • @qbtc
      @qbtc 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Lord Humungus, you are right. It was multiple choice so Dolph chose the answer closest looking to his own.

    • @Navajonkee
      @Navajonkee 6 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Except that 3% and 0.3% are quite far from each other. He made a mistake in the calculation, so he thought that 3% of 70kg is 210 grams, instead of 2100 grams. Since the answers were 1000 grams, 500 grams, 250 grams, and practically none, if he makes the calculation correctly, and he gets 2100 grams as a result, he wouldn't have been any closer to the answer. He screwed up, but got lucky in the end.

    • @urielnascimento3567
      @urielnascimento3567 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      His mistake was calculating the 3% as if it was the weight percentage of body mass that was salt. Its around 0.4% which would equate to 280 grams in a 70kg person, closer to 250 grams.

    Hitting somebody with science questions even just a couple years after graduation can lead to some disappointing results. Sometimes you get disappointing results if you ask them two months after their final exams. I am surprised and impressed that Dolph still remembers so much of this stuff DECADES after he finished college. It would not be so impressive if he had taken his chemistry degree and pursued a career in chemistry all these years, but he went to Hollywood and pursued a completely different career. So, for him to remember science that he has not used in almost 40 years is very impressive. There's guys in my lab who have to stop and look up ANY formula we haven't used in the last 3 or 4 days, and some of them have PhD's.

    • @shantanab2008
      @shantanab2008 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Good education has nothing to do with how well you remember exact formulae or information...Its more to educate yourself so that you can work out practical problems yourself and know where and what to look for the necessary formulae and information for that (or maybe how to find that out for yourself by experiment). Education system is in a way a bookmarking process

    He had a TEDx talk where he talked about growing up, emotional problems and how things spiraled out of his control leading to an eventually healed estrangement from his wife and daughters.
    He did a lot of martial arts especially karate which helped him during a troubled child hood with an emotionally absent and physically abusive dad, so abusive that he was taken to his grandparents where he thrived.
    He was an A-student in the United States, which is not much of an achievement, since the U.S. schools do not really demand a lot in comparison to Europe today. He did one year of studies in the U.S interrupted by one year compulsory military service in the Swedish marine before he completed his chemical engineering degree in Sweden.
    He then enrolled as a Fullbright scholarship recipient to the MiT but was spotted and hired away by Grace Jones and this distraction led to a quick dismissal from MiT which he does not really complain about since according to his words "all of the sudden the MiT" was not that exciting anymore.
    He entered a relationship with Grace Jones, nine years senior to him, officially hired as her bodyguard, but he rather helped her work out in the sheets in between her musical performances.

    Ok, I'm starting to write a buddy movie with Dolph Lundgren and Neil De Grasse Tyson in the lead roles right now.
    It's gonna be about two divorced 50-something science nerds that start a science youtube channel together, out of boredom, and accidentally uncover plans of world domination by an evil mad scientist played by Stephen Hawking.
    They're hired by the Miami PD to help them defeat the evil genius, and then partner with undercover cops played by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. Chris Hardwick is gonna play the evil russian henchman, Ivan Striko, who throws bowling balls at his victims (and he always aims for the balls, and calls this deadly technique : E = MC Spare). Louis CK is gonna play an evil mexican warlord who wants to buy weapons of mass destruction from undercover Key & Peele.
    There's gonna be explosions, bikinis, Miami Vice-like wardrobe, one liners, a visit from the ghost of Nikola Tesla, Sarah Palin playing Dolph's anti-science ex-wife, it's gonna be a hit.
