Thank You for this!! I have the 1st Unseen, it's amazing from cover to cover and even the book jacket they included is his Flash Gordon ensemble poster. Also have Vallejo's/Bell's Titans which had to be an influence but moreso Rockwell I think and George Reeves Superman. It was Alex Ross' Kingdom Come is what got me into comics in 2008/2009...never knew entire books INSIDE & OUT of that caliber and print and color quality could exist, it sparked my reading of such, and then collecting, and now my general comic cover or interior artist appreciation...so many masters, and now I appreciate his golden age influences and the early works, and appreciate a wide array of styles... TY Andy!! And dude, I have a few of your books too! A signed 1st Man & ArmorX :)
While I love the Kirby Batman concept, the one that caught my attention was Alex Ross's Monster Mash. Many of those short-lived 60's comics riding the coattails of the 1966 Batman series ended up in The League of Regrettable Superheroes book. It's amazing how some D-list characters can shine brighter when given to a talent like Ross.
Alex Ross is one of the GOATS , the art in Fantastic Four Full circle is Amazing. 😎
