hi i have a question, i am using LA custom C7 Grand Piano preset in Keyscape but i cant see the "Tweak" section on my screen as i could in this tutorial. i am searching for "how to get the sustain Release" effect activated on this piano sound and landed up on this tutorial, i learned many other things, just not able to find that Tweak button, please help. thanks alot!
Hello Madhavas. I'm glad to hear you were able to learn a few things from this video. Just to be sure I loaded an LACustom C7 right now and clearly there's a "Tweak" tab right under the Piano picture. From Left to Right this is what I have: 'Main, EQ, Comp, Tweak, Settings and info'. There's a number of parameters under each tab.
You’re very welcome. Honestly that’s really not a Keyscape question in particular. That would be a ‘how to load any sample library in Ableton in general’ type of question...that is probably answered in an Ableton instrument tutorial video. Hopefully an Ableton user would see your question here as well.
Keyscape is an exceptional program. In general, working with ANY acoustic piano sample, I still find they are sonically fragile to work with. One or two wrong turns even on the right knob, and you've got a toy piano sound.
Yes Keyscape is absolutely wonderful. I guess you could use those parameters either for sound design, or as a tone shaping tool to make your piano fit in a mix. If it's a solo performance, then yes you could totally make it sound un-natural on its own pretty fast.
Thanks. So you can't even see the dropdown menu with scale names at all? Or you see them, but they're grayed out? Does this happen with all instruments/presets?
@@InTheMixReviews I heard back from the Spectronics support. It's a known issue with the new update. He had me downgrade to an earlier version and now it's working. Honestly, these are not the scales I need anyways. I wish there was a way I could custom create a scale. Thank you for the response.
Thanks for the video! Haven't purchased yet. Basic question: does the audio still run from the keyboard or is all the output going from the pc once you're working with Keyscape?
Hi! Great video. What's happening is when I load a sample, let's say the LA Custom C7 Studio, the Preview Ready bar finishes, but starts from 0 again. And this keeps on going. So my patch never actually gets loaded fully. At the end of the bar, everything sounds good. But when it restarts, so does my sound. I experience stream breaks and some notes don't play if I'm already playing other notes at the same time. I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro, have 8GB RAM. My library is on my external Samsung T5 SSD, while my internal drive is also an SSD. I've lowered my Pre-Load Memory Size to the minimum possible and haven't tampered with my Stream Break. Any idea what might be causing such massive wait times?
I don’t think you’ll be able to have good results with that type of external SSD drive....especially with Spectrasonics libraries. Those are really meant as storage drives for day to day business...rather than sample steaming, unless you work at high buffer size and use the compressed version?
Not all patches have the "Tweak tab" though. Not all parameters are available for all patches. Example. The tweak tab is there for the Acoustic Piano C7 but not for Rhodes Piano Bass under KeyBass.
This is so weird! Yeah, you're missing the Tweak tab! I just loaded the same exact patch and clearly I have a TWEAK tab right there between 'COMP' and 'SETTINGS' tab. Did you install the full version? If not, I wonder if that has something to do this.
Just watched your video. Im planning to buy a nord piano and trade in my yamaha dgx650. But nord is too expensive! Can I use the dgx650 as my controller for keyscape? Thanks.
I don't know about dgx650 but as a general rule any midi device that can transmit midi data (midi out or USB), CAN be used to play any sample library that accepts midi input. That pretty much includes all midi devices that are made over the past 40 years. In other words when it comes to midi connectivity, there's no difference between a $50 midi controller and a $5000 Nord when it comes to triggering a sample library. Of course a high end keyboard will have a much better keybed and stuff like that, but that's besides the point.
i have a question regarding keyscape. For these files and USB plugins for keyboards, does it work on any keyboard. I own a Alesis recital but I'm not sure if this would run on it. i have a MacBook so downloading isn't a problem. The problem is my keyboard and I'm not sure if it would load into any keyboard. It does have a USB port so I can connect but I'm not sure.
Hi Noah. These type of instrument libraries are actually installed on the computer. Nothing gets loaded or installed on your keyboard or midi controller. You can use any midi enabled keyboard (which is pretty much any keyboard made after 1980s) to play these libraries.
I love Keyscapes!!!!! but every time I select a sample, a note plays and lingers. I can't find out how to stop this from happening and don't know if it's Keyscapes setting or Komplete midi keyboard.
At the bottom of the panel showing the instrument names, there are six buttons. “Sort” is to the left and “audition” (which looks like a “play” button) is to the right. Just to the right of the audition button, there is a very small down-arrow - click this and you can turn auto-play on or off.
With the latest updates that came out a few years ago, you can use Keyscape on its own without having to use a host. That wasn’t the case with earlier versions.
It’s been a long time since I’ve used Keyscape. I know for fact you can create a list of your favorite instruments but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking. Are you wanting Keyscape load an instrument automatically every time you launch the library?
I'm having some trouble with connect keyscape to my modx8, I have all the requirements but a Vst 2.4 or an AAX but I'm clueless on what either of them are. I already have everything downloaded, anything helps 😁
You mean just the regular on/off sustain pedal? Absolutely! It’d be no different than using an actual sustain pedal. If that’s the CC# associated with that controller, then I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to do that.
@@InTheMixReviews yes, but the keyscape does not react to it in any way... It reacts to it if I make it "learn" any parameter using CC#64, so the DAW and Kescape are talking to each other... but I can't find the sustain control on Keyscape to make it "learn" the CC#64... I wonder why...

Absolutely. It’s totally possible. You can use any midi enabled keyboard 🎹 to control Keyscape. I even used a Casio keyboard to play NI’s Noire. Check my latest video.

Hi, I had this issue with some of my keyscape instruments not having sound, I searched online and they said that it's not connected to an output or whatever, this was their message "SOLVED: under FX all of those patches have no mic selected on the cabinet. click the X in the top left corner and go to fx, find the amp, click cabinet and choose a mic from the drop down menu. " The problem is that I cana't find the cabinet or amp or mic whatever he's talking about, can you help me out with screenshots please?
That's highly unlikely! Some of keyscape presets have an amp/cabinet associated with them. It's just part of their sound and how they were sampled in the first place. It has nothing to do with routing the main audio output. They're type of parameters for you to tweak the sound to your liking. That's all there's to it.
