      A little late to the game, but this reminded me that I tried watching Ghost Town Terror Season 2 on D+ and was done after the second episode when they found the symbol of Venus at the bottom of a cave and proceeded to call it a circle with an upside down cross. We literally use this to represent the female gender in pop culture and they acted as if it was something demonic. What a joke. This is definitely a step up.

    My boyfriend lives in Elkhorn Creek, about 10 minutes from Hellier. His house is surrounded by mountains and woods. One night, he was telling me about how Bigfoot communicates by knocking on trees or whatever. I decided to scare him by taking a stick and whacking it against a tree, mimicking a knock. A few seconds later up in the mountain, we heard a response. It wasn’t an echo because of the different frequency and general noise it made. We never ran so fast back into the house. It was dark outside when we did that and there was no possible way that an animal could have mimicked that sound.
    Also, one night my boyfriend was coming back into the house after a major storm caused a power outage in the area. He came back in scared to death, which only scared me even more. He claims that as he was jogging back into the house, he felt/saw something running with him. Could see the shadow out of the corner of his eye and hear the breathing. Didn’t get any sleep that night.
    Weird things happen in Eastern Kentucky. Maybe it’s the Appalachian mountains.

    I saw a "brownie" peek around the corner at me when I lived in Cornwall. It was no more than a foot high, lithe, and quick as lightning. In the Orkney Islands of northern Scotland, fairies are still fed by farmers, so they don't cause trouble - and even help out around the farm. There are all kinds, many races and cultures, like humans (see "The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries" by Evans-Wentz). Germans call little men who live in the mines "Kobolds," and we derive the name of the mineral "Cobalt" from that race of beings. It's embarrassing, but when I was younger, I had a crush on the Icelandic singer, Bjork (she's a bit of a strange attractor). During that time I had numerous vivid dreams of tiny men in piebald suits living underground; they invited me into their tunnels, sang to me and drank from little mugs - and as a result, my schoolboy crush on Bjork dissolved like a morning fog. When it finally did, I had no more such dreams (but long for them still - while the pop singer is largely forgotten).
    There is so much space within you. A universe. That is where you will find what you are looking for.

      This is what I was thinking! I don't think I'd believe any of these things unless I saw them for myself, but I've heavily researched the Tuatha De Dannan, Celtic myths, and everything in between for worldbuilding purposes. It's crazy how many cultures share the same entities under different names. It's hard not to imagine that it's all connected.

      There are faries here in Ohio. My great grandmother came here from Hungary. She used to talk about them being here too but not as open to us as they were in her home country. She once told me a story of a little boy that lived in ome of the market shops. She said he had a tail and climbed on the walls like a lizard and his eyes looked odd. She never got too close and always ran past the place. Whats strange to me is how do all these stories slip through the records of history.

    Loved the series. However, I have some unanswered questions: what ever happened with that woman's nephew who knew where there was a cave? Also, I was hoping to see the Corn thing that townie mentioned, what happened with that? Also I would have liked to have known why they ended up picking the train tunnel... it seems there were a lot of leads that were dropped without knowing the why of it... there were a lot of unexplained segues... Great stuff though. Really like how you explained all of the inner thought processes and different ways to interpret strange events...

I didn't grow up there, as I was moved out as a kid, but my mother told me that her parents and grandparents even talked about "gremlins" throughout her childhood. Live your life in a way that brings you incredible experiences, however they manifest in a way that brings you heart pumping moments to remind you of what it means to be human. Because ultimately, no matter what other beings we share this space with, *we* are human, and that's pretty damn amazing, too.

    Just finished my second time through the series, and I have no doubt that I'll watch it again. I would have to disagree with those who said it's too long or too "fluffy". It would have been impossible to convey the emotion, frustration and wonder of the team as they went through the event if parts had been cut out. This series gives a whole new (at least to me) perspective on paranormal events and the continuities and similarities that exist between different expressions of the paranormal. Also look into the Kentucky blue people, mounds, and giant bones discovered there. The rabbit hole of Kentucky is deep. I have stories I could share that would blow your mind. Great series. awesome bit of entertainment :) I don't know why people get so bummed about a proper ending - its not a movie, its joining people trying to experience something bigger than themselves. also STELLAR production. I think maybe one (if lucky) we shot/produced paranormal doc comes out a year that doesn't want to make me die inside with cringe

    [Some spoilers, but it's been 4 years, so..]
    Can't believe it took me re-watching this whole docuseries like 4 times to connect Greg hearing cheering with the clapping at the end of Season 2. If what Greg hears wasn't just normal audio hallucinations as the experiment begins, then maybe that was their way of hinting at the Pan ritual, or conducting an initial greeting of their own.

    I can relate to so much of this, living in the Ohio River Valley & coming from an area that goes from being destitute & desolate to being a booming mini-metropolis about every 5-10yrs, & also having had grown up in the hills of WV, on a mtn top, experiencing things that open-minded folks find interesting & want to experience for themselves while those full of cognitive dissonance just blow it off & call ya crazy for claiming to have such experiences. I loved the series: it made me want to watch more & be hopeful that your group, this specific group of ppl, will reconvene for another documented trek into the unknown. I don't personally know any of the people involved, but they seem like a very fun, dynamic, wise group of individuals that I can relate to on some level.
    Great work!!

      I enjoyed the idea of the series and consider myself an avid paranormal enthusiast, but I thought the investigation could be much more pragmatic and grounded. Boots on the ground investigating, investigating the abandoned house, use of trail cams, more interviews, etc. They ended up using alot of ghost hunting methodology that allows alot of "woo" in, and while it may be exciting for the experiencer, it's not as exciting for people watching. Would like Season 2 to be investigated more like real detectives would.

    So my friend Merr turned me onto this yesterday, and I've binged the whole thing. This is beautifully shot, well put together, comes across very professional and I think definitely lends you a lot of credibility. I have really enjoyed this series! I really appreciate the way you guys conducted the spirit box. I've not seen anyone else do that and I think it would be fascinating to try out. Just, great work! It kept me riveted, it's creepy but also has this bigger conspiracy feel. This was really just so well done. Thanks for putting it up here. And I could really see in your faces, this has changed your lives a little, like it made you all question some things you had probably always held as true. Either that or you guys are the best actors I've ever seen. lol

    I was a little stalled by Dana's interpretation of the Hanged Man Tarot Card. Most of the time, the meaning is not to look at the world or circumstances up side down or from a different perspective, but to stop and take inventory of why you are feeling stopped, stuck, or feeling that things are up side down, and then stop what you are doing; cease going forward for the moment as a possible indication that you, yourself have hung yourself of your own free will and now must stop or reverse the actions and plans that have you there now. The Hanged man is not represented on the card as in some bondage or torturous pose - in fact he is represented hanging by his ankle with the other leg casually behind him, and his arms are also positioned calmly behind his body as if hanging of his own free will. He got himself there, now, stop and make plans to go back, reverse, retrace and pay attention to how you got there. Just an old witch with another old and standard interpretation.
    Thanks, I appreciate and respect your determination and hard work.

      I have Tarot cards, not very good at reading them but then again, I just started not that long ago. You sound like you know what you're talking about with those cards. My question is: Isn't the Tarot Cards like the Ouija board? I KNOW the Ouija board calls to things you probably don't want to see let alone experience what they can do to you but do the Tarot Cards do the same thing??
      Aren't you in an "open" mind frame while using them-- meditation - & will something attach to you from them? Thank you so much-I really look forward to your answer.....

    • @Rose_Macabre
      @Rose_Macabre 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed, Rachel. Because of the Odin mythological symbolism associated with The Hanged Man, it can also mean a great personal trial, or self-sacrifice to gain better understanding and wisdom. The "death" of who you were, in order to become a better version of yourself.

    • @FreemanPresson
      @FreemanPresson 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      After absorbing the basic meanings of the cards, you go with how the symbolism works in the particular context. That's why they're inexhaustible.

    Hey guys & Dana, I loved your series!! It was both haunting and beautiful to watch especially to someone who pays extra attention to synchronicities. A thought came to me and it's that both people and animals alike are drawn to music and or musical sounds.... maybe that would draw the creatures closer. I sooo can't wait for season 2. All the best in your future endeavors! KR

  • @danndeelion

    I binge watched the entire series from beginning to end all yesterday and I do have some questions.. well one important one that sticks out to me right now - was this train tunnel location in this last episode the location given by the original coordinates that were thought to be a credit card number? Remember in the beginning I think it was Terry Wriste that sent them? These coordinates were supposed to be the "window" as the cave you previously explored with the unnatural stone slab was blocking the "door" which Terry said was "closed" but the window was "open" then sent you those GPS coordinates. Like, if the door is closed crawl in the window? I just wanted to know if you followed up with that location.
    I am also curious as to why there is no folklore brought up concerning mine spirits such as the Kobold & other types of old European spirits which almost mimic these Goblins you were searching for? In fact even down to them being called children or taking the form of children is almost identical as well as all the knocking you heard. I am curious as to why none of these connections were made in the show. Thats all - thank you!

    There are so many comments I would like to make, but I'll try to be brief. My father was from Hinton, West Virginia, so my ears always perk up when the "odd" shows up anywhere near that general region.
    All of you did a wonderful job and I felt I got to know you all a bit. From Randall's music, to Karl's style of film composition, even Rashad's bravery to stay behind in dark places to film.
    I know how much you all would like definitive answers, but my supposition is that we don't know what to believe; however, they know we exist and we just don't matter that much to their existence. Like us, some are shy, some are mean, some like to poke us with a stick, some want to be left alone, some don't.
    I'll be looking up synchromysticism as I have had similar strangeness across my 62 years.
    Keep looking and stay safe.

    As much as I wanted a creature feature, this doc brought up even more interesting subjects. When a group of people spend a lot of time around each other in pursuit of high strangeness, this sort of thing always seems to happen. Pagan college kids getting into deeply involved witch wars with a neighboring coven that seems like life and death until it just fizzles out. Ghost hunting groups that go into what they were told was a derelict asylum, have wild garbled and frustrating evidence, and then find out that the building was really a naval office building. I don't know if it's the power of a circuit of human minds that forces out discordant "evidence", or another force altogether, but it sure is interesting to think about, and this is the first doc I've seen touch on it.
