Untouchability has been a crime since 1955. But it is widely practiced in urban and rural areas as well. In urban areas many so called high caste landlords will not give house on rent to SCs/STs. In rural areas it is clearly visible.
@@govindasethi7563 absolutely correct bro, Hindus are full of contradictions. A nation can only move forward if equality is present in society, without meritocracy how can we become a developed nation.
An entrance exam Cannot test Your capabilites, In couses there are no reservation. In India entrance exams are to reject 99% of appilcants because of lack of good colleges and schools. Any one like gaurv thaneja can do mindless question solving go to iit and say havan se air purify hote hai😂😂.
Spreading superstition has become an easy way to get views and likes these days. I wanna see if Gaurav Taneja will depend on yagna instead of modern medicine when his child is sick. You are right - people rage about reservations where they should instead be asking the government to create more seats for education. And more jobs.
@@TheIanPandaNow in jee prep even teachers are saying try not to selected through category because you will get a caste tag and companies will prefer you less. This is so unfair an entrance exam cannot decide whether you have skill set for that job. it's merely a tool to filter students it happens even in China, South Korea because of limited quality education.
@Kaiju-p2j - I am not aware of what is happening with the world of jee and neet. I was never in that rat race, even when I was younger. There's plenty of career routes other than these traditional ones.
@@TheIanPanda I too don't want to be in a rat race but in this country to To be a engineer you have to. You have to either go to iit, nit or in tier 2,3 colleges where they teach floppy disks and projects are bought from markets. IIT is a tag many students just go even if they don't like field just iit tag gives you more preference than a skilled engineer from other places.
@Kaiju-p2j - If you don't want to be in the rat race, then don't be. There are other fields, less explored ones. All depends on what kind of life you can make for yourself. When I passed out from school, I did hotel management and then worked 10 years in retail operations. But if science is your calling, do consider going the core science route - BSC, MSC, research, etc.
Social upliftment addresses fundamental human needs like education, health, and equality, creating a more just, skilled, and empowered society. This, in turn, forms the backbone for sustainable progress, including advancements like 5th-gen aircraft, which require a strong, well-supported populace to develop, maintain, and utilize effectively.
People who say Untouchability doesn't exist are the one from the General Category. I have openly asked people who deny, that whether they would sit with a dalit and eat with him. they never opened mouth after that.
I do understand your point sir but i feel defence jeyse sector ko merit based rakhe to hi behtar he. Wese bhi drdo me jake kisi ka kya hi social upliftment hoga? Moreover do u have any data that these sc/st perform better than general in whichever field they go. If they do then no issue but defence doesn't have a reservation for a reason. Social upliftment karne ke lie kisi dalit ko drdo me ana jaroori nehi he . I feel everything related to defence must be kept on merit to bring the best of the best in the service. Social upliftment and prosperity can only happen if their is peace and stability and protection hence it is very very crucial to prioritise our safety and upliftment then anything else. Just my view.....
People keep missing the point. Merit ka jo idea leke chale ho woh hi galat hai mere bhai! Jinn logon ko neecha dikhaya jaata hai, jinko education se door rakha gaya sadiyon se, unke marks tumhare se equal kaise aayenge? Toh itne inequality hone ke baad agar merit merit karoge toh tum ussi inequality ko badhate chaloge. "These sc/st" - tumhare bhaasha mein hi discrimination hai aur tumhe lagta hai unse acche marks aa gaye toh tum meritorious ho? This mindset needs to change. And I genuinely believe we overhype the need for military power. We have been in war only a few times and any smart nation has to avoid war anyway.
I mean we will see that soon every caste in India gets equal right to education , healthcare and respect according to their worth not by a specific imposed caste of society and I agree with you on point that merit should be the one to decide this but when everyone gets to start equally we will see the reason why social upliment especially for lower class was important.
@@TheIanPanda i whole heartedly apologise for my wordings but the thing is that i am not against reservation all i said that the only sector that we can seperate from reservation is defense and that also becuz i feel this can impact their performance if their is any data that can say that their performance is on par with their general counterparts then no problem. Moreover we have been in 4 wars within 75 years i wont compare it with other countries but it is not less, secondly we have alwaysed avoided war it was always the other party who had attacked us . Also if u want to avoid a war for that also we need a strong military which can make your enemy think twice or thrice before launching any attempts of aggression upon us . Our neighbours are hostile and they wont hesitate to attack us if we lower our guard . I never said we should develop our military on the ruins of our underprivileged brothers and sisters. They should get whatever they deserve the only sector i am excluding is defense cuz i dont think by joining army or defense is or will by any means is going to improve their current status and also for some other reason which i had mentioned above and that is performance in the field not in marks or theory(just to be clear). Social upliftment, security and prosperity all these three are most important and are interlinked for development of a developed country in TRUE SENSE. Only GDP scores or Military rankings are not going to define us Social upliftment is necessary but that doesn't excludes the other two . Thats all i am saying . No offence, or discrimination to any caste or class. And i once again whole heartedly apologise for my wordings used 🙏🙏🙏🙏.
@SwargamBorkotoky - I believe we should spend more on education. Because that's real power. What is the point of guarding our borders when we are only spending 2.9% of our fiscal budget on education. For reference, Sri Lanka spends 11% on education.

I agree with most of what you have said; however, the economic war is very much real, not capitalist propaganda. In war strategy literature, it is usually termed as "Economic Imperialism". But, we can see it in front of our eyes. Just like how we can see discrimination right in front of our eyes.
The point was whether reservations are keeping us behind in the so called economic war. And that's just bullsh!t. Social upliftment should always be a priority - doesn't mean it will cost us economic growth - that's just savarna excuse against reservations.

I agree with the points and I'm completely in support of reservation. I'm general cast or whatever you wanna label it. I never really knew because cast landscape is very different across region. We are not Brahmins btw but I also won't call myself underprivileged. We are very poor tho. Atleast used to be but still that povertry I would say was because of circumstances and not caste because we were never denied any place in society or had any issue with other people. But we were and are relatively very poor. But my official cast is general, which is what I use. I'm prepping for JEE exam and sometimes even If only I my cutoff was 80% or less like for reserved people because if they deserve to get a seat at 80%tile or less then so do I. But tbh I had access to every facility and even tho we were poor my mom never let us have any problem and gave me all the facility even tho we were in debt. So me getting less marks will be my fault and I can't respectfully demand to get a seat at 80%tile. I can create a cast certificate since my father was from st/st but I would feel like a fraud to use reservation for my own shortcoming. Because with the facilities I was provided I should be capable of way more. Now my next point is are you completely anti-capitalism? I more of a pro capitalist because even though the execution is flawed it still seems like the best economic system we ever had. Problem is people exploiting it. But it is still more logical and sustainable in my opinion albeit with some limits and measures. 100% free market is not sustainable but so is socialism or communism. Communism is more idealistic, it almost certainly demand perfect cooperation of all humans which is very unrealistic. I personally believe I'm owed nothing in this world so I will not demand equal of anything handed to me. Except if I ever get in very bad situation in life basic human rights would be nice and some food and shelter. I'm born with no money, nothing to call my own so I feel like hardwork is the way. Concept of ownership itself is very tricky topic. In nature no one owns anything but human societies are so much complex. The first person to claim a piece of land is technically the owner but if he just happen to get it by luck. The first nomads to reach a place had created their culture around it and almost for generation they have kept the ownership of it. Later some raiders come and claim that same land for themselve by force. But modern soceity tend to be more "civil" so we just have to accept something even though unfair are just owned by some people. All we can do is provide our service if our work is properly rewared in the current system. To me it seems like capitalism brings people and their talent together, not because of goodwill but because of shared greed. I believe to an extent greed is good. it drives humans to create things. Greed, when channeled within ethical and sustainable limits, can indeed push people to create and innovate. but wanting to create a equal society where everyone is just "good" is very unrealistic

1) Don’t blame today’s so called “upper caste” people who aren’t casteist, for what their ancestors might’ve done. If you make people inherit their ancestors’ bad deeds, that’s not much different from the idea of original sin without a scope for redemption. 2) Hindutva is anti-caste. That’s why even as a nonbeliever Hindu I support it. Just look at what the founders of Hindutva said. 3) I love and admire Ambedkar. But I don’t like it when people deify him. Deifying him would be like creating a pseudo-religious dogma with a central divine figure. That’s just irrational. 4) Social uplifting and growth in STEM can happen simultaneously. Two aren’t mutually exclusive. 5) Government’s job is to provide a safety net for those who are in a miserable state. Socialist policies work only to that extent. Beyond that, it’s inefficient. The government has no business to be in for-profit business.
1) The upper castes are still pretty much casteist - some might not be, but then, this tendency of not acknowledging the problem is also a part of the problem. 2) Hindutva was thought up by cowards and is a supremacist ideology. 3) People deify Ambedkar for his contributions to social justice. That's so much better than deifying people like Savarkar. 4) Indeed, but this guy was not talking about STEM, was he? As per him, giving representation to the marginalized was somehow detrimental to science and research - a thought that stems from a casteist place. 5) Socialistic approach is needed to regulate capitalism so that it doesn't become monopolistic and predatory. Nobody is advocating for absolute socialism here.
@@TheIanPanda 1) There are many casteist people from “upper caste”. No doubt about that. That’s why birth based caste system needs to go. But making a blanket statement without providing conclusive evidence shows that yours is an emotional response, not a rational one. 2) I disagree. Regardless, it doesn’t disprove what I said. 3) did I deify Savarkar or anybody else? Come up with a better argument. And btw call me whatever you want but I admire Savarkar as much as I admire Ambedkar. But I don’t deify them because I don’t want to be selectively rational. 4) there should be an equality of opportunity. But equality of outcome is again an irrational idea. I’m for caste based reservation for 3-4 generations provided that we also manage to eradicate birth based caste system and make inter caste marriages a norm. If these conditions are satisfied, then keeping the reservation would keep the caste system alive which would be regressive. 5) Are you in favor of government running or nationalizing for profit businesses? If so then that’s pretty much absolute socialism. For example Air India kept making losses and funneling taxpayer money down the drain while simultaneously pretty much becoming a monopoly (especially on long-haul routes) due to a sovereign power’s hand in it.
Sorry but I do not agree with your 4 points, there are upper castes who are also living in poverty also what are your excuses for them I think it's better to focus on all people of India rather than make it a caste spoon I saw upper caste people who's father income is just a normal woker in 10k monthly salary but their kid's is smart because they saw their father to struggle for everything so they work hard to get that high grades not because some teacher is favouring them because of some caste privilege, came out of your lala land start to sit with the poor people know about their life then you will find every caste people in poverty line, I am not against of reservation only thing I want if your socially left out from society regardless of caste and religion then it's your rite to be there but if you and your family already got a benefit of this and you are up lifted now so please leave that reservation privilege to someone else don't be like a sarkari babu
Typical savarna response. Even a dirt poor Brahmin has never faced caste discrimination - his life is tough, but not as tough as that of a Dalit person who's as poor as him. Even poor savarna people have well to do relatives, have education, have a history of education in their families. That is called generational social capital. You come out of your lala land and try to see how bad things are for the poor from the so-called backward castes. No Brahmin was ever attacked simply for existing - a Dalit man was beaten up just yesterday for being on a horse at his own wedding. They are not equal - that man could afford to rent a horse, but still was attacked. So go give this gyaan to your other Brahmin friends and feel sorry for yourselves.
The lower caste and other inhuman words used against the aboriginals to make them accept mentally. It’s a psychological game to keep people low. Aboriginals must reject any kind of label against them . Aboriginals must build courage and move forward
I believe that we need to embrace our diversity, be it racial or regional or language-based. The savarnas as well as the natives have both been on this land long enough to be considered natives - so this US vs THEM exists only due to the caste discrimination. And that needs to end. The government needs to amp up efforts to ensure education is made more accessible for the groups that have been sidelined for so long.
If reservation was the answer to educating lower castes and ending caste discrimination then after 77 years of independence caste discrimination should've been wiped out of this country Because this was applied systematically and absolutely no government institution can slip through But did it solve the problem? A big fat no What it did was to create more problems for the youth Reservation was never an answer to caste discrimination or to improve poor educational skills What it simply does is to promote mediocrity over hard working general castes. You might have gained privilege that stops you from seeing it, but that's not the case for 90% of the people. The government should definitely work to provide better education, but without reservations, things will quickly slip to the earlier trend. I am happy that you don't face discrimination - but maximum other people do. Reservations are meant to give them representation which will never happen unless it's mandated.

Agree. Bro it's okay that we have reservation but what's the meaning of 75% reservation for lower caste According to the logic of opposition that reservation must be equal to the percentage of population of caste, I think this much reservation is also a discrimination for the upper castes
Why? The upper castes keep talking about merit and fairness - if you constitute 25% of the population and there are 25% seats left for you, isn't that fair? It seems like discrimination to you because you are used to getting a lion's share of all seats - and while you have always believed that it was your "merit", I am telling you that your merit itself was built on the systemic inequality created by your ancestors to favour you. In spite of reservations, upper castes still dominate most government jobs - because there's still discrimination in hiring and selection. Just because the unfair system favours you, don't fool yourself into believing that the system is fair. Anyway, these reservations will only be in government sectors, even if that 75% ever comes to be - since most upper castes claim they have merit, they should not worry, right? They will get great private jobs easily.
@millennialmind9507 - Don't get so worked up, buddy. It hasn't happened yet. And I never heard you complain about the hundreds of years where your ancestors (also mine tbh) had 100% reservations on everything.

Yes there is a law that makes it illegal but it’s for a society that’s full of bigots who occupy the positions of power. So reservations are required as the “upper” caste bigots can’t be trusted.
It is disturbing how people who don't face discrimination show a complete lack of empathy for people who do. It has been illegal for the better part of a century - hasn't stopped people from practicing it vehemently. Reservations are needed because otherwise, your folks will not let them into any jobs or institutions.

Capitalist propaganda - where all media & news hypes up industrialists and a system revolving around profits and economic growth, at the expense of quality of human life. This is so that these businessmen keep getting richer and the common folks don't mind sacrificing their precious hours hustling instead of asking questions on how their lives could improve. Read up on Karl Marx's theory of base and superstructure. FYI - I am not advocating for communism - I just feel that a strong socialistic approach is needed in governance, especially for a country like ours with so much social inequality. Because otherwise unchecked capitalism will lead to predatory monopolies that will bleed the common folks dry, in their list for profits.

The guy asked me about something I didn't even talk about, so I told him about what I said in the video. I guess that was too difficult a concept for you to grasp.
Like government can do anything. Reservations, freebies etc have all proven to ineffective. Better economy leads to automatic upliftment of downtrodden. I'm from OBC community and I've seen first hand how our lifestyle has transformed in past 15-20 years. There are more and more skilled professionals in our community, we are getting wealthier, have access to decent education and opportunities. What more can we ask for? We need to focus on deregulating and opening up our economy through tax reforms, help organize people to come together and build a strong industrial base. Social problems will slowly fade away when we have surplus economy. All the fault lines will break open when the economy is crumbling because people go into survival mode and start getting selfish
That's a very naive way to look at things. You are advocating for a China-like model. The problem is that caste-system isn't an issue China had to deal with - the worst impact of caste discrimination happens on the people at the very end of the spectrum. And it has been observed that this trickle-down economics that you're talking about fails to reach them. Unchecked capitalism will not uplift people - the last 15 years as an example - inflation has risen constantly, but median wages have not. Don't tell me your salary grew - that's not what is being discussed here. Canada is facing unchecked inflation because monopolies were allowed to form - so deregulating the market has disastrous outcomes. A surplus economy in a society as inequal as ours will just mean richer Adani and Ambani, not richer you and me.
@TheIanPanda even if you take all the money from Ambani, Adani and distribute across poor Indians we'll still stay poor. Stop thinking about dividing the pie within atleast for a while especially when our pie is so damn tiny and not at all what it can be. We'll think about social equity once we are competitive on international markets. Again true equality is just a dystopian pipe dream, equality of opportunity can be however can be targeted if basic necessities (education, free time to upskill and fair job market) are met. Over taxing and over burdening the Industrialists/ white collar high skilled professionals/ entrepreneurs etc will only encourage them to move out (we live in a free country, whatever that means) and we'll lose the steam to stay competitive in International markets.
@nandans2506 - Kuch bhi! I didnt say anything about distributing Adani or Ambani's wealth. I just said that such monopolistic capitalism has to be checked and people's basic rights have to be safeguarded. You seem to believe that only Adani, Ambani can create wealth - anyone can create wealth in a fair market. Let them run away and do business as immigrants if they don't want to pay taxes. The fact is that their businesses exist in India - where will they go? Ever thought of that? Basic necessities are important - that I agree on, but that doesn't seem to be the priority of any government. All I said in the video is that social upliftment can't be ignored for economic growth. We have become a large economy in spite of being one of the poorest countries in per capita terms - it means nothing to 90% of people if their basic necessities are not met.
@@TheIanPanda caste system is not something for government to solve. It's society's problem to solve. Society will take it's time, changes here are often generational. No amount of laws and cases can erase caste lines. Government/Courts have done whatever they can and also gone behind, infact they have taken a lot of stupid decisions trying to right historical wrongs. Implying we shouldn't invest in key advanced technologies because we have social inequity is a stupid, misplaced idea.
@nandans2506 - Well, let me tell you something - if caste discrimination was not criminalized in the constitution, we wouldn't even see the pretence of equality that we see today. You cannot impose inter-caste marriages, you cannot really solve caste discrimination, especially now when people are actively defending it. Affirmative actions will be needed as long as the marginalized communities don't gather enough social capital to counter the effects of the biases that the savarnas have against them. And I never said social upliftment has to come at the cost of development - that is how the guy who left the comment made it seem - as if giving reservations in education and jobs is what is stopping us from scientific advancement. And once again, if you think a system that's so rooted in this culture will go away, look around you.
sorry bhai but this vdio is pure sentimental , emotional . there is no real value or utility to this vedio havent seen the vedio which you made earlier capitalist propaganda lol even the literal communist party of china uses capitalist economic policies ccp according to reports some reports of singapore media has cut down on its national healtcare budget ccp literally usues everything capitalist to do buisness. eg alibaba , xiaomi , redmi , huawei , mg motors , lenovo , tencent , tik tok etc would have not even exist if it wasnt for capitalist reforms you would say look at germany for socialism but if you reaaly look the problem is there are more tax paying citizens then dependant citizens our country had reservation for all its post independence years but are still sewage we are. dalits are just the mouth peice /organ for parties including bjp . not to hurt sentiments but the cause is that instead of criticising govenment we are literally being parasites to eash other. eg cong vs amit shah dalit row literally any sane peron can look at contexy and say the protest were bs but you know aht happened. you said that general category or savarnas as you like to call are economically privelledged which is literally not true straight bs talking about social respect and social dignity yeah i am all in 100% my mom is obc from gujarat and my dad is maharshtrian brahmin respect for all should be unasked btw you can say that government should take steps against crony capitalism but capitalism is literally the only way reply would be appreciated
Why do people think comparing with China is a good idea? Indian society is different from China. And when I say capitalist propaganda, I am talking about a specific thing here - as I clarified in the video. And I said 'comparatively economically privileged' - all reports suggest that the development indicators are the worst for SC/ST - just you feeling you're poor doesn't make it so. And I am not talking about capitalism as an economic policy - that's okay, but unchecked monopolistic capitalism leads to disaster - this we have seen in action in countries like the US and Canada. Crony capitalism is the first step towards a monopolized market. All videos like these are sentimental - no policy change is gonna happen by some TH-cam video - but I just want people to see things for how they really are, instead of through the lens of PR that rich businessmen want them to.
No. Reservations are given because there's caste discrimination. A poor upper caste person deals with poverty but not discrimination, whereas even well to do people from so-called lower castes face discrimination. That's the basis of caste based reservations. Do watch my other videos on this topic to get a fresh perspective. If you don't agree, then also it's okay. But as a savarna, you should try to understand what I'm talking about.
Capitalism is good. It makes best use of our resources. Socialism has failed as there is huge wastage of resources. Reservation gives a bad name to all lower castes while only a creamy layer benefits. Reservation is also reverse discrimination of people who never practiced casteism now and their children forever. We are undeserving of Ambedkar's constitution. We have screwed it up. Airplanes vs social upliftment is a false choice. We can have both. You can stop your virtue signalling.

@@TheIanPanda
1) There are many casteist people from “upper caste”.

@@TheIanPandathe rest 25% seats are open to all, not just 25% UCs. They are not reserved

Caste discrimination is already illegal. There is no need to do anything else about it, like giving reservations
But still castism happens in India Still dalit people suffering from it . That's why reservation required
@@TheIanPandamost of the jobs needs skills not caste . What kind of dumb company do that.have you ever asked your caste in an job interview

What is communist propaganda sir

Buddy, I'd take your opinion seriously if you learn to spell first. Hypocrisy is when people who can't spell lecture others on knowledge and education. The guy asked me about something I didn't even talk about, so I told him about what I said in the video. I guess that was too difficult a concept for you to grasp.
@@TheIanPanda you are being exposed
And once again, if you think a system that's so rooted in this culture will go away, look around you.
sorry bhai but this vdio is pure sentimental , emotional . there is no real value or utility to this vedio
havent seen the vedio which you made earlier
capitalist propaganda lol even the literal communist party of china uses capitalist economic policies
ccp according to reports some reports of singapore media has cut down on its national healtcare budget
ccp literally usues everything capitalist to do buisness. eg alibaba , xiaomi , redmi , huawei , mg motors , lenovo , tencent , tik tok etc would have not even exist if it wasnt for capitalist reforms
you would say look at germany for socialism but if you reaaly look the problem is there are more tax paying citizens then dependant citizens
our country had reservation for all its post independence years but are still sewage we are. dalits are just the mouth peice /organ for parties including bjp . not to hurt sentiments but the cause is that instead of criticising govenment we are literally being parasites to eash other. eg cong vs amit shah dalit row literally any sane peron can look at contexy and say the protest were bs but you know aht happened.
you said that general category or savarnas as you like to call are economically privelledged which is literally not true straight bs
talking about social respect and social dignity yeah i am all in 100% my mom is obc from gujarat and my dad is maharshtrian brahmin
respect for all should be unasked
btw you can say that government should take steps against crony capitalism but capitalism is literally the only way
reply would be appreciated
So muslim killed hindus in past.so hindus need reservation over muslim. Is that your argument. Communist 😂
China keeps its citizens repressed Economic growth isn't everything when you work at sweatshop
Reservation should be on the basis of economical condition not on the basis of cast
