PS2 Games On USB - Play Your Games With Free McBoot - เกม
Oh yeah, the PS2. The best console of all time.
Naaa bro you are incorrect....that title belongs to the Sega Dreamcast..
@@vadergamer7722 what makes the dreamcast better than ps2? which is one the best consoles ever of course right next to the ps3
That Dreamcast memory card is legendary 😵
@@jinkageyama1907
Dreamcast set the example first 😁
@@jinkageyama1907 xbox 360 was much better than the ps3 imo
This is, without a DOUBT the best emulation/video game hacks channel on TH-cam. I have been on here since 2010 and you my man are the best! Have a nice day and hello from Japan!
Agreed. This guy is a hero!
Thank you so much for this!!
You can't really be too sure with older ps2 jailbreak videos, I mean no offense to them but having a new 2021 tutorial just makes me feel more at ease.
Cannot wait for part 2!!!
Hey Blaine. Just wanted to say that all of your guides have really helped me. Thanks for all the videos and keep being awesome
Just followed your steps and set mine up. Cheers from Australia my dude! Mine also has a SNES, NES and GBA emulation and the Ebay seller sent me a usb full of roms for them too!! Looks like the remaining time I have left on my holiday from work is taken! Much appreciated.
Do know you the seller name. Wondering if they are still selling more
That's amazing man. That's a cool seller right there
Thanks for the tutorial! I’m getting old so this was simple and awesome and again thank you !
Man you're leveling up all the consoles that I have!!!! Thanks for the great job 👍
Same here it's amazing
BLAINE, please upload your videos to a website in correlation to your usual TH-cam videos. You can easily do it nowadays. Who knows if Sony/Nintendo will contact TH-cam to take your videos down. Your videos are highly educational and I’d hate for something like that to happen to you. You can even run ads and donations on your page! I’m sure a bunch of people will appreciate it. Thanks!
agreed
This is dope as hell.....I like this alot so now basically its a setup similar to PS1 mini classic......im definitely gonna do this to my PS2......thanks for sharing this bro
I have never seen a video by this guy before, but in under 15 seconds he convinced me to subscribe since he already sounds so nice :)
Thanks for your videos found you a couple weeks ago and subscribed.
perfectly explained... could not be more clear, tnx man :)
This was an awesome tutorial! Now I can play my PS2 games via USB! Thank you!
thank you. i missed the part where i put the ISO img in the DVD file. great tutorial!
Thanks to these video's you made, I bought a Wii, WiiU, PSX, PS2 and a CRT! Now i'm playing games like the old times!
@@blainelocklair Cool thing! Mine 21" trinitron got only scart and composite but still, running emulated games on softmodded Wii looks amazing!
Thank you so much Blaine with your help I modded my PS2 and PS3 nice vid keep it up✌
Great video. I have setup my PS2 with the FMCB and PS2Loader - a special version that can also use the PSOne emulator to boot PSOne and PS2 games off the NAS on both PS2 and PS2Slim. Works even better than from USB I'd say. It does require a specific set of folders on the SMB share but it basically functions identical to the USB solution. PSOne is a bit tricky though.
The NAS should be on a fixed IP as well as the PS2 (possible DHCP environment by assigning these in the router and the systems themselves). And the IPs of both NAS and PS2 need to be configured in the PSOne emulation config files. PS2 is pretty much perfect - PSOne is not perfect but a lot of games run well.
@@blainelocklair And it could also be from a shared folder on a Windows computer on the network. :)
The new modded Dragon Ball Z games are the best at least until Sparken zero comes out
@blainelocklair thank you so much! I have no clue how many thousands of dollars my in-laws have spent for my autistic brother in law. He loves to carry his game discs around and as you may guess they break and scratch easy. With your video being a simple walk through I was able to get him up and running with ease. Thank you so much!
Dude your knowledge is amazing thank you for this!
This tutorial was five stars ⭐️ like and shared thank you again
This worked perfectly! Thank you so much!
just found your channel and geez these are such great quality keep up the great work
You just made my ps2 10 times better. Thanks bro.
Hi Blaine, thanks for the help!
Thank you very much for this after realizing how much money used ps2 games have gone up this is way better
wow this helped so much, thank you!
Dear Blaine, I really appreciate your work and have made such progress thanks to you!
Will you make a video soon on how to minimize PS2 ISO:s?
Thanks blaine, although I had to watch another person's video to deal with files over 4gb. Should also note that the free mcboot card I bought (from your link) doesn't say opl loader it's abbreviated as OPNPS2LD with different versions. I clicked the (v0.9.3) version. and it worked. I thought i was doing something wrong since i didnt see how it is in the vid, so i'll assume its because this vids a little outdated in that regard. Now, i have the issue where the cutscenes are laggy..gotta look into the other methods
Very clear information well thought out tutorial well done, and I’m difficult to please ,
thanks, worked like a charm!
Hey Blaine thank you so much :D ~ Travis
Worked like a charm
Thanks blair , your a Legend
I'm thinking about giving this a try for myself.
Oh I think I finally found the place. Got 2 systems sitting under the bed looking to get modded
Yo thank you so much, this is crazyyy
Many thanks for the tutorial
Hi Blaine, Great Video! When can we expect the Video on splitting the larger PS2 files to play? Some of my favorites are just over the 4GB limit.
This please
I agree
Then check this . When you download them this way , don’t put them in dvd . Put them in the root .
Thanks for the help 🎉
I just bought a PS2, this is awesome!
Thanks for the info
Loooosing my mind over here, Ive been at it for over 4 hours now. This stuff is rocket science, and my occupation is dealing with electronics and computers.
Neither OPL or HDL will recognize my drive, no matter if i format to fat32 and use simple DVD folder, or if i use OPL manager to format it and add the games. Nope, I pretty much havent seen a single sign that the ps2 is recognizing my drive so far. AHHHHH
I'm having the same problem right now lol I've been working on it for a few hours but still... anyway were you able to make it work and how?
hi blaine, i know this video is kind of old, but does it matter what type of usb drive you use for free mcboot? and also what size would you recommend?
Blaine 😁 thank you sir
Nice thanks
Such a helpful guide! Now this may or may not be a silly question as I am new to all of this, but will my game saves go to the card with the FMCB on it or will they stay on the USB drive that the games are being played off of?
They'll still go to your memory card
THANK YOU SO MUCH IMA SUBSCRIBE
It worked well thank you
Best tutorials on YT
THANK YOU!
Out of curiosity, will this work with imported games, or do I need to take extra steps for that?
Thank you so much for this video. Quick question. Is it overall better (faster, more compatibility, etc) to load PS2 ISOS via a usb drive or installing an internal HDD in the PS2? Or any other reasons that one option is better than the other? I'm guessing an internal drive is better? Thanks again!
USB is the worst for speed. Internal hard drive is faster and you can also run games through the Ethernet cable and that's also faster than USB also.
@@azzymcvayfan Epic. I really appreciate your answer. Thanks! 👍
@@shredbraahh8606 no problem bro. Game on!
@@azzymcvayfan hey, one more for ya real quick. Two actually lol... Do you know if any PS2 slim models have an expansion port? I know they obviously don't have the full size expansion bay, but I'm basically just wondering if you can hook up an INTERNAL HDD to a PS2 slim. I can't seem to find anything saying that they do, so I just wanted to make sure.
Also, do you know if loading times via Ethernet are faster or if an internal HDD is faster? Thanks again.
@@shredbraahh8606 nope slims are absolute garbage. Theyr literally "half" of the original model🤷♂️
Thanks!
See, why can't it be this easy to play PlayStation 1 games? Pop it on the USB as is, and off and away ya go.
Thank you for this video.
You're half right on the 90000 models, if the date code is 8A or 8B it'll work with Free McBoot, 8C is hit or Miss, 8D and later need a modchip.
Excuse me i tried to follow your tutorial on my ps2 but i have a problem. I run OPL, then select the game in the usb, the game starts but immediatly it comes an error saying that my controller dualshock2 is not connected and to re insert it. It depends to the game compatibility? Or must i choose different options?
Thanks for the tutorial! Can you use a micro sd, and usb sd card reader, instead of a pen drive?
Blaine, one question. Do you always need the mcboot card inserted? Thanks in advance
Thank you sir.
Thanks for video im going to repair my ps2s and emulate some games my slim I've had ever since I got it back in like 08 would be nice to bring back to life.. Also would this also work for ps1 games onto the ps2?
Just a question, if you are using the memory card slot to boot the console does that mean you can not save your games? Or can you mid game just swap to a normal memory card and save ? Thanks
Can you do one of these but using the originally called for: IDE hard drive? How big of a hdd can be used? What format does it need to be in?
Hello, I ordered the FreeMcBoot drive that you recommended and I plugged it into my ps2 but when it powers on I dont have a different menu and when I go to browse and choose the 1st memory slot I can just see files that I cant access. Is it a faulty drive maybe or do I need to install somthing with the usb drive before it can work? Thank you
Why did I look this up 🤦 now I've added another project to my list lol
You're the best ❤
So if I'm understanding this right, I can use my PS2 for emulation without really installing anything on it? Once I remove the USB and memory card is my PS2 essentially the same as it was prior to using them, or will I need to uninstall something for the PS2 to work regularly?
keep one orginal ps2 memory card for ps2 discks,& the other memory card for free mcboot, the ps2 games will be on the usb drive 😊
@@amurray4036 But once I take off the memory card and the usb out, my PS2 is back to normal, right?
@@marcusdodd6903 yes if you have normal ps2 memory card, you can put a ps2 disk in & you continue playin it as it was a ps2 console, the freemcboot memory card, allows the system to play ps2 games off an usb, when you have the freemcboot info on the memory card,in one of the slots
What does it save it on? As In the video it says memory card not inserted when he booted it up.
Works in 2022 TYSM
Can you play PS1 games with this method? Great tutorial BL
Wow this looks cool because my disc reader on ps2 isn’t working right. But now I must know where do the games come from to put onto the USB?
I don't know or care who McBoot is, but I agree with you; he should be freed! /s
Now i can play the games I can’t afford :)
Amazing video. Would an external hard drive work for this instead of a USB?
Sorry it’s one year later, but I fan confirm that yes it does work
So can this work with an external hard drive? And how or what do you do with saves, other files? Do those just act normal in the other memory card slot on a mc? And any idea how this can work or affect using the action replay?
I followed another of your tutorials to get here but I don't have OPL or ps2 loader. Launch elf, launch disc and configurator are there though. Any help?
Yeah I had the same issue. I found another video that shows how to download OPL
@Blaine Locklair how do i get the OPL option to show up? i followed your other video on making the FMCB so thats what im using? any help is very much appreciated!!!
Well, I think you saved me $100. I was about to pay someone to install a 2TB HD and mod it. I'm pretty sure I can do this mod myself and a 128GB usb should suffice
Lol USB is complete trash. Super slow and half the games crash. Get the HDD man🤷♂️
@@MebbIraq I want a site to download games because every time I download from a certain site it becomes clear that the game is not working
Cool😂😂Your the best
Which is the best method to play isos from: usb from this video, dvd r or hdd? In terms of better performance and less lag
HDD
Do you have your videos on a separate site or is this your only platform? I ask because some your video's have been deleted.
For better performance, use a USB HDD/SSD with external power.
There is no difference.. it is because the usb read speed of the ps2 is limited to 1.1 this is why videos start to stutter that hard because of the data amount a video sequenz causes
what website do you get your Iso files from?
If i had my fmcb stuff on the hard drive i dont have to delete it right? I can just add the game iso's onto it?
Thanks
What should you do in the event of your games just black screening?
I tried playing PS2 games on a USB drive and then I ended up switching to the MC2SIO memory card. One game that you absolutely cannot play using a USB drive is Final Fantasy X. Especially during the first prerendered cutscene of the Blitzball game. And because you can't skip it, you have to watch the cutscene play out while it studders
THX! Now I can play MVC2 and DBZ BT3 Instead of spending 100 dollars
😂 I sold DBZ BT3 a few months ago for $185 now I’m going to do this . MVC2 is a great game .
@@Venom_DvbzYou're crazy for selling the best DBZ game in existence lol I would have saved it in a box as a childhood collection. Well at least you can get it back anytime through this method but still 🤣
How do you quit from the game? Do you turn off the console or there is a settings to press to quit from game?
Should I import all my isos to the USB one at a time or all at once? I can't defrag so I was wondering how to set this up so they dont defrag in the first place
Where do you get your iso files? All I can find in the internet is files for ROMS to emulate on computer, I’m getting crazy tbh
Same, my cartoon nw won’t run past title screens
I'll mainly use this for PS2 games I can't get a hold of because of rarity and price.
It's a brilliant idea really.
Great video! However, games aren't showing up for me on my PS2 despite following every step exactly. Help?
Blaine if you don’t mind me asking does this work with Japanese ps2 ? Would I need a mod to get region unlocked ? I’m new to this but have everything to do so if needed
Once you are on a automatic launch mode, how do you find the config menu back to switch it off? I can't access it anymore
Where did you get the iso files? I kept getting .CUE files when downloading PS2 games onto my Windows 10 laptop.
Great vid! But where can I download the games?
Working 100 %
Can I save games on usb ?
Or I have to pick a memory card ?
Hey Blaine I have a question, could I use a usb hdd?
Is an external hard drive through USB acceptable for a slim model PS2? (Yea Free McBoot works. I just want to load more up than a thumb drive would hold.)
