Thank you so much for this!! You can't really be too sure with older ps2 jailbreak videos, I mean no offense to them but having a new 2021 tutorial just makes me feel more at ease. Cannot wait for part 2!!!
This is, without a DOUBT the best emulation/video game hacks channel on TH-cam. I have been on here since 2010 and you my man are the best! Have a nice day and hello from Japan!
BLAINE, please upload your videos to a website in correlation to your usual TH-cam videos. You can easily do it nowadays. Who knows if Sony/Nintendo will contact TH-cam to take your videos down. Your videos are highly educational and I’d hate for something like that to happen to you. You can even run ads and donations on your page! I’m sure a bunch of people will appreciate it. Thanks!
Just followed your steps and set mine up. Cheers from Australia my dude! Mine also has a SNES, NES and GBA emulation and the Ebay seller sent me a usb full of roms for them too!! Looks like the remaining time I have left on my holiday from work is taken! Much appreciated.
Loooosing my mind over here, Ive been at it for over 4 hours now. This stuff is rocket science, and my occupation is dealing with electronics and computers. Neither OPL or HDL will recognize my drive, no matter if i format to fat32 and use simple DVD folder, or if i use OPL manager to format it and add the games. Nope, I pretty much havent seen a single sign that the ps2 is recognizing my drive so far. AHHHHH
Great video. I have setup my PS2 with the FMCB and PS2Loader - a special version that can also use the PSOne emulator to boot PSOne and PS2 games off the NAS on both PS2 and PS2Slim. Works even better than from USB I'd say. It does require a specific set of folders on the SMB share but it basically functions identical to the USB solution. PSOne is a bit tricky though. The NAS should be on a fixed IP as well as the PS2 (possible DHCP environment by assigning these in the router and the systems themselves). And the IPs of both NAS and PS2 need to be configured in the PSOne emulation config files. PS2 is pretty much perfect - PSOne is not perfect but a lot of games run well.
This is dope as hell.....I like this alot so now basically its a setup similar to PS1 mini classic......im definitely gonna do this to my PS2......thanks for sharing this bro
@blainelocklair thank you so much! I have no clue how many thousands of dollars my in-laws have spent for my autistic brother in law. He loves to carry his game discs around and as you may guess they break and scratch easy. With your video being a simple walk through I was able to get him up and running with ease. Thank you so much!
Thanks blaine, although I had to watch another person's video to deal with files over 4gb. Should also note that the free mcboot card I bought (from your link) doesn't say opl loader it's abbreviated as OPNPS2LD with different versions. I clicked the (v0.9.3) version. and it worked. I thought i was doing something wrong since i didnt see how it is in the vid, so i'll assume its because this vids a little outdated in that regard. Now, i have the issue where the cutscenes are laggy..gotta look into the other methods
Only if you buy the memory card. I used Blaine's video to make my own mcboot card, which worked but has no OPL on it at all and he won't tell anyone how to install it
Such a helpful guide! Now this may or may not be a silly question as I am new to all of this, but will my game saves go to the card with the FMCB on it or will they stay on the USB drive that the games are being played off of?
For those who came from "How To Make A Free McBoot Memory Card PS2 Guide". A step was skipped, you need to add OPL to your Memcard before this tutorial is relevant.

hi blaine, i know this video is kind of old, but does it matter what type of usb drive you use for free mcboot? and also what size would you recommend?
