Replace Chris with Chipsa for an episode and see if anyone notices
You are so messed up for that lmao
Buddy just sits there with his fucked up internet
@@nephilim475unlucky
I thought that was chipsa the whole time
You guys should get rakattack on the podcast next so he can talk about his experience being on a team that never got a win
They should get Roshan and Rak for the double winless special
@@dengernoodle4391 just get the whole Shanghai season 1 team tbh
Jake having to step in to cast was honestly some of the most enjoyable casting this year. I don't know how updated he was on the scrims, the meta & such developments, but regardless it felt like his insight was well thought out. He didn't just cast it moment to moment, he explained the setup phase "they need to respond X if they use Y" etc.
He’s already a better caster than 95 percent of the OW talent let’s be honest. Him and Jaws actually understand the game at a high level
wait till this guy hears about when he was full time caster in 2020... wait till he hears about jake's legendary solo cast
I hope you guys stay unemployed so we get more uncoachable content
Got bad news
The streaming scrims thing is MASSIVE the amount of time I watched cloudy, astro and hadis streams is wild!
shame that the Chinese government beat Chris in the neutral fight, if only he flipped the firewall
Chipsa on when?
13:20 ChrisTFer failed his maths GCSE : (
Banger as usual fellas
It'd be really interesting to get someone on with experience playing with/ coaching chinese players. Nero maybe??
Best overwatch podcast
this podcast is NEVER beating the racist allegations
the fraud quiz is funny pls keep
Nah yall gotta keep that fraud quiz it’s the most entertaining yet
loved that quiz
The intro and "online impressions" of the coaches is hysterical.
Gunba is so blunt i fuckin love it
2:43:47 crusty is a fraud
I wonder if we'll find those guys who can save the game
Another very interesting episode, Gunba is as brutal as his reputation says I think. Would love to see Chipsa talk on some of these as such an experienced player
also gunba best guest so far
By far…
Guys, I need next episode
Same!
Yaki roasts never get old
Having gunba go off and basically list who he thinks is a fraud and who isn't for the quiz is a good idea
But the quizzes don't feel like a competition, I think some sort of catch up mechanic may be required for situations like this
And potentially bonus points for getting the harder questions right
In order to make it a tad bit more competitive
interaction boosting comment
People say you can’t “measure” coaching, I disagree. Gunba clearly created a clear system, many strats and game plans, every single time you see them they show new colors, good macro, flexible as a team, see massive improvement in players and macro, fast to adapt in game or to a new meta with a new hero and are the team to trust with weird strats and off meta comps. All massive indicators for brilliant coaching. He turned bottom team Mayham into champs in 2 years with medium to low budget.
Best guest
It's a mistake to think that any sport's casters succeed because of their technical competence. I'm convinced Tony Romo hasn't talked to a player or watched a minute of film in 2 years. Fans care about personality, not sports knowledge.
Anyone know what headset Gunba is wearing?
You should get vestola here
The only casters I’ve seen people complain about was LemonKiwi, Legday and Nekkra. Majority of the casters I never really had a problem with.
I still think the majority of the casters had no fucking clue what was going on and also where great colour casters, there’s like maybe 3 casters ever who I think where great
@@zachariahmarkusson7479 Uber and MrX, Bren and Sideshow were amazing to have cast and personally I enjoyed Jake, Jaws, Custa Avrl and Achilios.(Monty and doa back in the day are not bad either) it’s been recent years where the casters were like “how did they get the job” like when Nekkra straight up said Gator was the coach of Toronto.
Legday has good wordplay and nekkra has definitely gotten better, lemons voice is just not good when she yells.
Gator Toronto? Sheesh that’s a stretch. He coached team USA this year didn’t he?
I love Custa as a person but i dont know, he just seemes to say one thing all over again "he is best on the hero" or "he is not on the top level". That was all he had to say@@TemariTheKid
Very real for the desk & casting points. Would bet not a single sentient soul would ever watch the preshow, almost none of the segments were ever related to the game, they're not catering the segments to fans of the esport and instead just making slop for the people who's interaction with the game is making ship fanart on Twitter.
They loved to go on about "storylines" but then barely ever made team feature content, best part of the broadcast was the postgame interviews they started doing this season.
The best casters have and always will be people who have been involved with the pro scene as a player or coach etc, not some random freelancer who spends 80% of their career casting a polar opposite game and blatantly barely understands Overwatch at all. For casting specifically it set a really shit precedent for up and coming casters as well where they made their style similar to the slop that was in OWL to try and progress and made anyone with a palatable cast really few and far between.
I assumed lukemino mixed cx with the bald glads coach
About the thing for caster contracts being bad, Sideshow has said that Bren wanted to go back to OWL because they offered him a 3mil multi year deal (not sure how much he exaggerated) and Sideshow had to convince him not to stay on the sinking ship and come with him to Valorant instead. It’s mentioned in and is the main context of sideshows “casting rats” video
I absolutely hated the commentary and the desk analysis for 99% of the Overwatch League. That's the reason why I watched the Korean or Chinese broadcast. At least then I didn't understand what was being said.
The NA desk was an absolute disaster. Everybody had forced attitudes, possibly forced onto them from higher up.
It probably still wasn't the primary reason the OWL failed. Most people in the chat seemed to have liked the commentary/analysis.
Gunba calling out the casting is insanely based. I watch both top level Pokemon & Smash Brothers, so I KNOW that Nekkra and VikkiKitty come from those games. its clear overwatch wasn’t their priority, and it was reflected in the rehearsed, surface level casting. incredibly boring. Unter calling a mei ult dogshit was both more entertaining and insightful
Hearing unter say “these rail window combos are very NA” is actually pretty insightful. Like that shit is interesting.
The best casting ever is from smash/fgc where it’s hella grass roots, especially in a summit setting where players just sit on a coach casting matches
You guys should get someone that knows what happened to xqc in season 1. You guys could blow up if he watches a clip
Thank you for calling out some of the poor casting/desk analysis. It’s something that has driven me crazy’s over the years and nobody on any of the subreddits will agree with
1:17:17 i dont know, but for fans, it would be much better feeling being 4-6 then 8...
Australia mans
The casting in OWL was such a travesty. Anyone who actually watches esports knows the casting can absolutely make or break a broadcast. For a game as fast-paced and complex and Overwatch, having a person on the mic who actually understands what is happening and can explain that in a digestible way is so important especially for new viewers. Career commentators like Nekkra and Vikki who cast a different game every week just don't fit with the pace and complexity of Overwatch. I don't think I've ever heard one bit of interesting insight from either of them. They just describe whatever is happening on screen. No hate to them--I really like Vikki's smash commentary, they just don't have the depth of game knowledge of other casters and it shows.
What is Chris doing in China?
Battling the firewall
Lmfao facts the casters were ass outside a few nekra was insufferable bad
Gunba part 2
Yes please
2:29:17 I AGREE GUNBA. THANK YOU. It is sad. This was all my problems with overwatch league in a nutshell. There IS a viewership that is hungry for more analysis heavy content (uncoachable content). Just imagine how frustrated these viewers are with the owl product all these years.
I love hearing from people who really really really care about overwatch
The ONLY analysis content on TH-cam was Akshon Esports and they swapped to variety instead of just overwatch
1:38:30, yet in the world cup, Korea lost to Finland and China to Saudi...
Gunba is like the ONLY man in the scene with the balls to call out the lazy, off topic, annoying casting that ruined the broadcast for years. Sideshow, Bren, Monte, Uber, ZP, Jake and AVRL were the only talents that had a positive presence and over half of those guys got pushed away by the league.
Custa is good too
Crusty is a fraud.
Gunba is a fraud
ariel2 the israeli chad
casting has been atrocious besides uber mr x or a jake/custa on cast.
oh and avrl achilios
the casting segment is one of the most ridiculous examples of dunning-kruger i've ever seen in my life. just a colossal missing of the purpose of the broadcast, endless self-undermining of your own points, an incredible bit
I love the subtle racist undertone of the podcast 😂
Bruh not subtle
Gunba how shameless you are to refer to the same patch that made your talentless team OWL champions as the "oil patch."
On a skillful patch your team got completely destroyed by Atlanta and Outlaws throughout the entire season
Gunba is a hypocrite what do you expect. Talentless and a fraud. Fake it till he makes it? Thank god he never made it, one less fraud.
every team couldve won that worldcup including saudi arabia
i really hated the way you spoke about it it just screams i secretly hate saudi arabia but i dont mind their money and i would rather gunba talk shit about them instead of me
I'm impressed at the detail of this narrative you've managed to concoct... lots of creativity my friend.
@@harveyweir8061i don’t even know why he’s acting like it’s about him lol
