Classic Marathon [STEAM TRAILER]

- Last year, the Aleph One team asked me to create a trailer for the Steam release of Classic Marathon, a retro FPS from Bungie. This trailer features clips from solo and multiplayer, as well as the song "Splash" from the original Marathon soundtrack. I figured I'd throw the trailer up here since I've noticed it being posted by a couple other people.

The Marathon Trilogy is a science fiction first-person shooter video game series from Bungie, originally released for Mac OS. The name Marathon is derived from the giant interstellar colony ship that provides the setting for the first game; the ship is constructed out of what used to be the Martian satellite Deimos. The three games in the series - Marathon (1994), Marathon 2: Durandal (1995), and Marathon Infinity (1996) - are widely regarded as spiritual predecessors of Bungie's Halo series.
In 2005, Bungie authorized the release of the full original Mac OS trilogy for free distribution online, which combined with Aleph One and the efforts of the fan community, now allows the entire trilogy to be played for free on any of Aleph One's supported platforms (Mac OS, Linux and Windows) [alephone.lhowon.org]. Hell yeah! That's awesome they had you do that trailer.
Had the pleassure of playing the trilogy this past year after watching the new trailer.
The story had me hooked, the character have a lot of personality, the insane conspiracies and plot were fantastic, and the gameplay although understandably dated had great features a lot of modern shooters dont have.
It really exceeded my expectations, I bow down to og Bungie.
Can’t wait. Classic Marathon is heading to Steam this year.

I’m a little puzzled at the prospect of Marathon being put on Steam despite already being free abandonware. Does the Steam version have its own perks?
Well, the Aleph One port is maintained and regularly updated, and that's what is being released on Steam. So it will be more accessible to a wider audience. I do know they're working on Steam achievements, but I don't know much beyond that.

on the bright side, it means it's even simpler to get Marathon on the Steam Deck

I just discovered this game, it's pretty fun. Just one question, is there a way to sort of unlock the vertical degree where I can aim? Like I want to aim way above or way down, but the game won't let me.
Hey I was wondering, would it be possible to make a Marathon mod that incorporates headshots? I think it'd be cool if you could make a mod where the pistol or smg or something do bonus headshot damage.
