  • These video clips are excerpts from an interview with Bungie Software originally published in 1995 on the CD-ROM version of Inside Mac Games magazine (Volume 3, Issues 1 and 2, Jan/Feb). They feature the president of Bungie, Alex Seropian, and the lead programmer for Marathon, Jason Jones, talking about the commercial release of Marathon and its relationship to the company's previous hit, Pathways Into Darkness.
Here is a link to the full text of the interview, with pictorial references to where the clips above fit, shown in order, on the Marathon story page.

Dunno why but that 'for history' at the end was quite touching... These guys will be remembered. :)

Yes, I still think about the game ploay back in 1996 - that made a lasting impression like no other game ever will...

It reminds me of how in another video I watched, about somebody who tried Minecraft for the first time, and they were like, "what's the point of this game?"

343 Should carry on the marathon references within halo.

I don't think that would be ok. It's Bungie's title and Patient. 343 should find something new and deep with their company.

They forgot that lesson with Halo 2.
The first Marathon game is a much cleaner and enjoyable game than with Halo 2. Halo 2 has so many bugs in it; the game is almost unplayable for me. So it shows that Bungie works better on their own than with Microsoft.
    Thank you for the video!

Halo 2 had its bugs for sure. However it was the game that is widely regarded as the game that revolutionized competitive, major league gaming. It was personally my favorite halo
