I felt like they missed a huge opportunity here. There should be 2 story lines: one is the current and the other is when Nomad chose to switch sides and joined Walker. There woulr be hard choices but Nomad can either convince Holt and Midas to join Walker or taking them down as he choose Walker. Would have given replayability value.
This would be great honestly. (Yes, ik it's 4 years late) But there can also be some events where you try to temper the brutality of the Wolves and Sentinel or fully embracing their brutality, opening things up to an entire showdown between Nomad and the 2 other factions.
Honestly I don't blame him for betraying us. I mean I find it fucked up how he killed Weaver and other ghosts and innocent people. But I also find it fucked up how our boss blamed Walker for killing Vaughn (idk how to spell his name). Vaughn tried to kill him. I would do the same walker did. Sometimes you cannot play by the government rules depending on the situation. If they give us the option to join the wolves I would have accepted the offer. Like Josiah said, change hurts.
Wait so who are the good guys? And why is everybody in the comment section suddenly a retired soldier? you dont have to be a soldier to understand or agree with walker. Im pretty sure most of us do.
Well, Nomad is working for the CIA and the (forgot the names) while Walker's "wonderland" Is a reference to start a nuclear war (my guess) so, Nomad is the good guy
Well they'd understand it more then people who haven't been through that. As for who are the good guys, Nomad in a way is still the good guy despite what the government and the US sometimes use the Ghosts for. They still help and protect people or prevent wars that could have drastic costs in lifes, even if while they are doing it they protect the interest of their country. Walkers not wrong, its just that what was going on in Aurora would have spelled trouble and danger for so many people.
Nomad is objectively the good guy. He's fighting for freedom. Walker has a plan called Wonderland in which he'd use drones to enforce a strict authoritarian rule in which only military personnel would be allowed freedom. He's a sympathetic villain at best but a villain, he is.
i just now noticed that on the pouch on walker's chest in wildlands at least it says "born to hunt" and the name of his thing i guess in breakpoint is wolfs
Antiheroes tend to do good things for a selfish desire, or do morally questionable things for a selfish desire that would definitely make them controversial figures.
He's a fucking villain he allows civilians to be killed indiscriminately, he's self righteous to the point of justifying killing his own team, honestly he's worse then Vaughn, Vaughn shot one civilian, he's allowed the wolves kill more.
Both Ghost recon and division have an issue. You play someone towing the government line. However, you can see the point of view of your enemy, and the game doesn't let you choose, to join the other side...
I wouldn't say they hate the story etc, they hate the things like how the game pushes you into purchasing micro transactions, can only play the game online, that there's not enough AI dynamics like people walking round doing everyday life sorta things like how it was on wildlands etc.
It’s funny when people who haven’t played the game just spit out nonsense. The MTX in the game are COSMETIC ONLY! Besides a few packs that you can buy, but the things in those are all easily acquired through gameplay.
What doesn't make sense about Breakpoint is that you go up against other Ghosts yet they don't use any of the tactics :/ It would of been really cool to just walk through a forest and then all of a sudden have a bullet fly past you, or hit you, and then it turns into a really intense show down of skill.
Same shit that happened with Far Cry 4, in my honest opinion. Pagan was by far, the better character to side with. The good guys were the bad guys, and the bad guys... were still sorta the bad guys, but Pagan had restraint.
well who knows there might be a second ending like in wildlands who knows.... the game isnt fully finished yet we are only playin act 1 right now it might be bound to 100% completion of the game which is impossible to achieve yet. so maybe if you make walkers plan fail he might loose his will to keep fighting
Excellent video, I roamed a lot in the island and spent a lot of time doing side missions and faction missions in this game that I kinda lost perspective of the story itself, this video straightened it up for me, thank you.
Just so we’re very clear btw I was not insinuating I was anything special. But I was jumping making the point that it’s just a job like any other thus attracts people from all over. Rob O’Neill has a normal voice but then Joko Willink sounds like a movie guy. It just all boils down to what you find cooler and or immersive within a work of fiction
Me that’s true. I didn’t really think about it that way. I listen to all their podcasts, Jocko, Shawn Ryan, Rob O’Neill, Mike Glover, and some others. I gotta say Jocko does sound like the better speaker out of all of them. Jocko and Mike Glover. They both have that commanding tone in their voice
To this day, I always had an alternative way this story could be done First up, Vaughn is still incompetent but also a little sadistic, a bit like the character from the Green Mile (the one who messes up the execution which made a prisoner be cooked alive) and in the cutscene where Vaughn is confronted, he also kills two American soldiers, though he tries to make it like he stop the soldiers from harming the young girl he also killed. And when Vaughn tries to shoot Walker, he actually shoots Nomad in the lower abdomen which is the final nail for Walker to put Vaughn in the ground. Also in the game, the Wolves and Sentinel are not allies, Sentinel is hired by a Tom Clancy organisation from Splinter Cell Conviction which would definitely want to create “Wonderland”
i love this game so much i,ve been in walker's shoes it's hard to watch everthing you love go down the drain i got to say playing this game is pretty sweet best 125 bucks i ever spent
I love this character. The game has some major flaws but the story is pretty good. Making him relatable was a smart choice. If they gave us a choice i would probably have joined the wolves in the game ! Looking forward to the future of this game !
Imagine this is Logan Walker from CoD Ghosts after being broken by Rorke, and Wildlands is a prequel taking place before the first war against the Federation, being Nomad and the rest part of a subdivision of the Ghosts from CoD. Unidad wears the same uniforms in both CoD Ghosts and Wildlands. TOO MANY SIMILARITIES GOD DAMMIT
Thanks NGN. I have been following your content since the start of Division 2. I was really active on D2 and Wildlands back then. When Breakpoint dropped, it was just so shitty I cannot bring myself to pay for it. Thanks for the summary on the lore. Love your contents. I would also much rather play as Walker or one of the wolves in their conquest of Auroa pre-breakpoint.
Why did Walker shoot Weaver? Wasn't he hunting down the guilty people for his killed Squad members? And Walker killed Nomads teammates but especially HE should know how mayor a loss of the own squadmembers feels like and he adds the pain to Nomad, Walker hisself was and is feeling all the time since the past. This seems paradox.
Wow! I played the campaign a year ago. These days I just free roam Breakpoint. It’s great going back to this storyline. Jon Bernthal did a great job as Walker.
Fun Fact Some people don't notice that Blacklist from Splinter cell Blacklist had the similar purpose as Walker this makes one wonder if both were part of a bigger plan even Sam says Blacklist ain't done yet.
Fun fact: So long as you don't cause outright damage to the body you're free to interrogate prisoners as you see fit. Breaking bones causes physical damage so it's a no go. Waterboarding only causes discomfort unless you're doing it wrong in which case that's a failing of your higher ups.
@@kgapaneseschoolgirlb Guantonamo was mainly in trouble due to inhumane living conditions. Waterboarding may have been on there too but like I said the only time that's not illegal is when the person doing it is competent and knows when to stop, which is pretty easy to do. The human body has ways of letting us know when we're in danger and typically that's the first thing you learn when being trained in interrogation.
For those of you who want to be Wolves let me inform you: Walker has a tendency to kill soldiers that don’t live up to his expectations, one mission requires you to save a former Wolve you was being hunted for having gotten himself drunk with other of the soldiers as a way to relax. The other soldiers were killed by Walker and he was the only one able to escape been shot in the leg.
All these comments about joining the Wolves remind of Zenos's speech in Final Fantasy 14 "Would you be happier if I had a good reason? If my motives met with you approval would you no longer resent the outcome. Then perhaps beasts skin would suit you better."
Thank you for this video. I haven't been following the story missions as levelling up and doing side missions due to being new to Ghost Recon (so I haven't yet played the previous game) so having the story explained in advance is cool.

Nomad was on the side of freedom. And freedom in it of itself is never the wrong side. Walker snapped. He went crazy and thought that he had to be judge, jury, and executioner. If he were the good guy he would have tried to implement change in a positive way instead of subjugating what is basically a sovereign country and threatening the entire world with conflict.

Yeah
@chilled viper. Walker and Keener were right
I felt like they missed a huge opportunity here. There should be 2 story lines: one is the current and the other is when Nomad chose to switch sides and joined Walker. There woulr be hard choices but Nomad can either convince Holt and Midas to join Walker or taking them down as he choose Walker. Would have given replayability value.
This would be great honestly. (Yes, ik it's 4 years late)
But there can also be some events where you try to temper the brutality of the Wolves and Sentinel or fully embracing their brutality, opening things up to an entire showdown between Nomad and the 2 other factions.
You spelled his name right
Doesn’t mean you start killing innocent civilians lol. You’re just fucked in the head and delusional like he was.
I swear, Jon Bernthal makes the perfect villain/anti-hero. From Shane, to the Punisher, and now Walker. Dude's amazing in everything he does.
Walker isn't the hero we wanted but the hero we needed!
@@allykayalltheway6631 like how I can sympathize with Kajika or Theo in Division 2
@@trashypunkman7559 never played Division 2
I wish we got a DLC in which we could fight alongside walker. Lowkey loved him since wildlands.
i just now noticed that on the pouch on walker's chest in wildlands at least it says "born to hunt" and the name of his thing i guess in breakpoint is wolfs
You should release a video about how Walker is an Anti-hero, not an outright villian
I totally think he is!
@@NGN It'd be a perfect idea
I'd say he's more of an antivillain: someone who does bad things for a cause that he believes is the right thing to do for the greater good
Antiheroes tend to do good things for a selfish desire, or do morally questionable things for a selfish desire that would definitely make them controversial figures.
He's a walker, he never stays
Perhaps a SkyWalker? Killing his fellow teammates and comrades he called family
I love the story so far this time around. A great video on a game to many youtubers are hating on imo looking forward to your next one you got a sub
Great to hear :-)
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game so far!
@@NGN same here its not perfect what with the bugs but its so much fun i do agree
I wouldn't say they hate the story etc, they hate the things like how the game pushes you into purchasing micro transactions, can only play the game online, that there's not enough AI dynamics like people walking round doing everyday life sorta things like how it was on wildlands etc.
because he realised eventually he was going to have to pay $5.99 to upgrade his rifle a rare purple
Oh god... that's enough to make a man turn against his allies.
Who in there right mind would spend hard cash just to make there equipment look a specific color?
It’s funny when people who haven’t played the game just spit out nonsense. The MTX in the game are COSMETIC ONLY! Besides a few packs that you can buy, but the things in those are all easily acquired through gameplay.
The way vaughn asks for his medium rare like hes had a hard days work doing nothing
Walker was justified in my eyes because if I was in his shoes I would defect also
Correction he went rogue, defect means going to the enemy side and giving info and all tac data on your own country and fellow brothers in arms
Amazing video bro!
I guarantee you Peter Miles is the one that ordered Bowman to protect Daniel in Wildlands.
Is it just me that would of much preferred to join Walkers side ? Like fo real.
He gave you the offer to join the wolves during the rescuing skell mission.
@@ThePridePilot but can you accept the invite tho????? I would in a heartbeat.
@@SupernaturalPowerz Sadly no. Your character decides to not to do that because no.
@@ThePridePilot 😒😒 of course they wouldn't let us
But mah boi weaver HE KILLED WEAVER!!
What doesn't make sense about Breakpoint is that you go up against other Ghosts yet they don't use any of the tactics :/
It would of been really cool to just walk through a forest and then all of a sudden have a bullet fly past you, or hit you, and then it turns into a really intense show down of skill.
I wish the game was more open-ended and allowed the option to join Walker...
Not being a blind proamerican nationalist in a _"Tom Clancy"_ game?
*CIA wants to know your location* :D
I knew a guy just like him when I was in vietnam, yeah 5 years before my birthday.
The good old days.
Nice
13:20-15:56 When you and your friend get sent to the principal’s office but you two did nothing wrong and you finally had enough
2:30 Did this man just ask if he wants candy, (≧▽≦)
Yeah he did now shut the fuck up
Excellent video, I roamed a lot in the island and spent a lot of time doing side missions and faction missions in this game that I kinda lost perspective of the story itself, this video straightened it up for me, thank you.
This was very well done. Can’t wait to see more Lore content! You got yourself a new sub my guy.
Thank you very much for the feedback :-)
I'm having a ball with the game so far
"YOU KILLED 3 OF MY MEN"
Kills his own men. 😂😂😂
IMO the voice actor of nomad in wildlands is better then breakpoint. Dude in breakpoint sounds like he’s trying to hard.
Dude in wildlands sounds like he was castrated
@Nicholas Ramirez Haltenhof dont think so buddy
Walker turning his back on the ghosts... This seems like a reference to something
Maybe like the punisher
@@siphonicgaming4480 I'm hinting at another game
@@phantomguardian51 Rorke from COD Ghosts?
@@DelonX439 yes
There is a theory that walker was lying to nomad about targeting bowman and that he was after the tech guy to use him in auroa to help build his mechs
Garret Loe oh it’s been proven he killed him because he had evidence to put their plans at risk
To this day, I always had an alternative way this story could be done
First up, Vaughn is still incompetent but also a little sadistic, a bit like the character from the Green Mile (the one who messes up the execution which made a prisoner be cooked alive) and in the cutscene where Vaughn is confronted, he also kills two American soldiers, though he tries to make it like he stop the soldiers from harming the young girl he also killed.
Same i only got the standard edition though I wish I got the higher version because I want the survivor cosmetic pack really bad
@@caseybarrett8352 yeah there pretty cool
I spent 200$ on it lol
@@roberthollis7687 i spent 20. With season pass.
@@maxometer123 that's because I bought the collector edition on day 1 lol
I never get enough of watching Jon Bernthal, the man is an incredible actor.
You have more lore in this video, than the game has
I’ve been going on a Division and Breakpoint binge and was having a hard time following the lore. Ty for this.
At least we know why he has a big face heel turn.
Wow! I played the campaign a year ago. These days I just free roam Breakpoint. It’s great going back to this storyline. Jon Bernthal did a great job as Walker.
El Sueño sure could have used Walker instead of Carl Bookhart
Walker did not agree with the traitors in the government but he still hated terrorists
I love your break down of the story. You got yourself another sub. Thanks for the video. ✌🏿
Thanks dude 😊
You can see bowman got scared of Walker so she moved closer to nomad 😂😂
Dude is the first person I’ve seen who’s actually a BAMF
Fun Fact Some people don't notice that Blacklist from Splinter cell Blacklist had the similar purpose as Walker this makes one wonder if both were part of a bigger plan even Sam says Blacklist ain't done yet.
“Breaking shins is illegal”
And waterboarding isn’t???
Fun fact: So long as you don't cause outright damage to the body you're free to interrogate prisoners as you see fit. Breaking bones causes physical damage so it's a no go. Waterboarding only causes discomfort unless you're doing it wrong in which case that's a failing of your higher ups.
@@allykayalltheway6631 I’m pretty sure Guantanamo Bay got in a lot of trouble for waterboarding and using psychological torture...
@@allykayalltheway6631 Well I’ve just looked it up and it says waterboarding is illegal...
Funny how that "Wonderland" guy ended up working at Auroa and was take by Sam Fisher
Awesome video keep up the good work can't wait for the next one
Because, the Dark Side has Cookies!
Thank you for this video. I haven't been following the story missions as levelling up and doing side missions due to being new to Ghost Recon (so I haven't yet played the previous game) so having the story explained in advance is cool.
I was half expecting you to tell me off for spoiling the story for you 😂
But thank you. I appreciate the feedback 😊
@@NGN You did say in the title what this video was about so spoilers should be expected and no one should be able to criticise you for it. And now I know the story I know I will have to fight some very tough foes so I can prepare better. Thank you ;-)
Just makes me think nomad was on the wrong side of this fight
Nomad was on the side of freedom. And freedom in it of itself is never the wrong side. Walker snapped. He went crazy and thought that he had to be judge, jury, and executioner. If he were the good guy he would have tried to implement change in a positive way instead of subjugating what is basically a sovereign country and threatening the entire world with conflict.
12:26 I can’t say I wouldn’t’ve done the same. Somebody tries to kill me and fails, they’ve forfeited their life in turn.
Truth is Walker was in the 101st Airborne Division before Delta Force.

IronVigilance Rakkatards.. gross.
I hope that we get to have a Ghost Recon game where we play as Walker prior to Wildlands and Breakpoint

If i had a song for walker.....i think bullet for my valentines "your betrayal" would fit nicely.
When the villan is monologuing and is low key making sense
Are we the baddies?
It's perfect that Walker is voiced by and modeled after the actor who played the punisher. It's just to fitting
Walker called the dude a POG holy shit 😂😂😂
I swear John bernthal plays the same character in everything he’s in. From walking dead, punisher to ghost recon.
If it gave me the option I probably would've sided with Walker, mostly because I like the guy and I can see where hes coming from. Not to mention the wolves look bad ass.
I can't get behind a guy that wants to take our freedom away.
