    It's been a long 8 years of Destiny for me. Started in 2016 after getting my first console (a ps4) for my birthday and my best friend recommending Destiny to me. I've played ever since, even if he didn't anymore. I played this game through all my teenage years and into my early adult life, growing alongside this game for better and for worse, constantly fluctuating. I've had my tough moments in life, and so has Destiny. But you know what? You have to have these bad moments to know how good the good times are. I had my beginnings in Taken King where I completed my first raid as a teen with a squeaky voice with the help of a random streamer who doesn't go live anymore, my fun and excitement in Rise Of Iron, the hype and then disappointment that was the beta and then release of Destiny 2, the wonders of exploring the lore in the early D2 expansions, hopping through different clans until I finally set on one that wasn't ego driven, the boredom and eventual break due to Curse Of Osiris, the new and exciting possibilities that came with Forsaken and the Dreaming City. The introduction of Darkness as a new source of power for us. All the lies and illusions and tricks that were fed to us in Witch Queen. The further disappointment and questionable story that came with Lightfall. During the Witch Queen I upgraded to a ps5 so things would load faster and I wouldn't hear my ps4 become a jet engine when doing anything. All of it culminating in The Final Shape. The story was great. The return of Cayde was welcoming and warm, even if it was brief all things considered. The fusion of Light and Dark creating Transcendence made for an incredible jump in power and possibility. Everything we've gained, lost and have done over the years finally leading to us confronting and ultimately defeating The Witness. It was cathartic, to have finally reached what can be considered The End of Destiny (atleast the light and darkness saga). But that was enough for me. I felt satisfied reaching that end after these 8 years. I no longer feel so attached to where Destiny may go in the future. I had my time with the game. I grew up and matured while playing this game. It feels okay to let it go now. I have closure. One thing I can and will always appreciate about Destiny is its music. It's been a fun time, playing alongside all you guardians out there. Stay safe.
    And thanks. Y'know, for reading my comment.

    I was inspired a bit by the pinned comment to share my story, so here it is.
    My dad has always been a gamer. When I was maybe around seven or eight I would watch him as he played WoW in his room. I started playing games of my own on different devices my dad bought for me (and my sister) such as the DSi, Kindle Fire, iPad, etc. Destiny was the first FPS game I ever played. I saw it for the first time when my dad was letting my sister play it on our PS4 in our living room. I remember she kept getting scared when the Fallen would jump out at you during the first mission lol. Naturally, I wanted to try it out too.
    That was the beginning of everything. The three of us would start playing together, each on separate PS4s in separate rooms of the house. It was early 2017 and I was eleven at the time. Like my sister, I was nervous about playing the missions without my dad there, but after a while I started playing more and more often by myself. The only friends I had were from school and all of them were girls like me, and did not play Destiny or any similar games at all. The only people I could play with then were my dad and his friends, all of whom were at least thirty years or older lmao. So I pretty much would just play by myself like ninety percent of the time.
    I remember playing D2 for the first time and I was so upset that the Tower and Last City were getting attacked; I was so invested in the story. I remember when Curse of Osiris and Warmind came out. I would keep deleting my characters over and over again so that I could replay all the stories again. It was sometime during my freshman year of high school that one of my friends from grade school introduced me to someone she knew from a friend she had made that year. I had my iPod Touch with me and the case on it had the Tricorn logo on it. He commented on how he liked my Destiny phone case.
    My life started from that point onward. That person I was introduced to I consider to be like my brother. I met his friends and they became my friends too. I got to play Destiny with them. I was introduced to so many new things because of them. While the number of people in our friend group has gone down quite a lot over the past few years, I am still friends him and a few others from our high school years.
    Destiny is the reason I am who I am today. It has been with me for nearly eight years. It's seen some of the worst years of my life. It's been with me through everything. There are very few games that I consider to be like a home for me - games that I've been playing for a long time and that I feel completely comfortable in. Destiny is one of them, with Sky:COTL being the other. Destiny has been through so much with me; it's always been there to comfort me when I needed it. The best times of my life were when I was playing Destiny. It's been with me through my transition as a trans man (and seeing other queer people in game makes my heart explode with joy). I feel at home in its universe.
    While I'm not a true veteran from 2014, I've still there for quite a long span of the game's life. I've seen so much change. I often think back to how different things used to be. I was there for so much of it - the hard times, the good times. I can't leave this game, no matter what happens to it. After all the stuff recently, I stopped playing for two months but I still can't let it go. I love it too much. No matter what; I'm still here.
    After all this time.
    Thank you for making this video.

    5:30:55 to 5:31:30 is so eventful, you got a whole guardian commit murder with what looks like a rocket with clusters, then loot the bodies, run away, and then a massive fallen skiff causes an earthquake after a public event shows up.

    Hey! I'm looking to make some destiny ambient content as well, how are you able to get a nice angle without having the character model/gun in the way? And how do you stay out of afk?

    • @lostmusicco
      @lostmusicco  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey! So I used the emote that makes your character sit, and if you use that emote in front of a wall or a large-ish object with your characters back to the wall/object, then it forces the camera forward to an almost first person view . Does that make sense? If not, then let me know! Good luck on your content!
