So many late nights with friends...... So many long convos in matchmaking lobbies..... Agreed, the nostalgia that I feel when listening to this music is palpable. Would I rather go back to those times? No way, because the sweetness I feel, now, savoring the experience of what once was, but now is no more..... wouldn't trade that for the world. Wish we could. Just one last time have that moment back :( Halo has been the hugest motivation in life. At any point where life seems down or seems to be crashing in now that we’re all men or nearly men, but just coming back to all of these halo soundtracks just bring immense relief and nostalgia. Not only has Halo given me a brotherhood to cherish, but it has countlessly helped me get right back up ready for a fight. Although Bungie has left the community, Thank You Bungie for such an amazing creation.
I'm 22 years old now... Grew up playing Halo CE / Halo 2 on LAN.. Until Halo 3 was released I got Xbox Live those were the golden years of online gaming.. Thanks bungie
Same here bro. CE and H2 on the OG Xbox was how it all started for me. Halo 3 was the pinnacle of Halo and gaming in general. I still play it to this day. The game was light years ahead of its time. I’ll always appreciate Bungie for making my childhood memorable.
I don't know if its sad or warming to the heart that a lot of us are coming on here to express how these days have come and gone. We all miss those simple times as younger individuals. I bet most of you wouldn't trade anything in the world for the memories you all made playing these games with your friends. I wouldn't either. Time has made these exciting times a thing of the past and people have moved on with their lives. Some of us hold these memories very closely and still hold our inner child inside us. Mourning in a sense that most people have moved on and some of us are still here, still content to play these games while we build our lives and the people who we cherished back then have left us to follow their own journey. We truly don't value a moment until it becomes a memory. I miss my old gaming buddies deeply, so very very much.
On this journey we all made great friends, moments and memories but sadly time moved on so i raise a glass to all of our memories in hope's they never be forgotten
I'm 13 as of current. although I did not have the same pleasure of enjoying halo when it came out, I can assuredly say My Great Journey has just begun. I can't play with many ppl on MCC, so most days are me finding a custom multiplayer game or playing the campaigns. I only have one friend to play with on MCC. Sadly most of late Gen Z didn't get older brothers to introduce them to great things like this. Love yall!
I don't know who you all are, but I seriously feel like we have something special. Like the halo community is just one big family and no other game can make me feel more proud and happy to be apart of that.
We are all Spartan's. Our duty was and is to defend humanity. We dove feet first into hell. And came back walking tall. Those we've lost over the years in game and in life are not really gone. They are missing in action. Stay safe and uphold the Mantle with pride
Very different genres, I mean yeah, cod games have good music no doubt (BO2, MW series) but a lot of it is a little bit generic and very "action music". Halo hits different, so much of the music is unique, it feels calmer, it fits halo. CoD is a very fast paced action shooter and for that, its music works, but halo, halo transcends into the great beyond, and sends all who listen to it into the great journey.
Miss you dad, it's been 2 months since you passed away. You gave me such awesome memories and halo was part of the journey too. God speed . Rip dad. Moises Ruiz Sosa. July 10th 2022
I remember long nights playing halo 3 with people I never met. Talking about our personal lives. Relating. Building friendships. Building the ultimate maps. Countless hours in forge. Downloading other people’s maps. Griff ball. Infected. Trying to get outside the map. Lobbies full with people talking. I remember waiting for my friends on the other side of the country or even world to get on. When that slow piano music played on the start screen it hit different. I’m 28 now and I think back on all the laughter and rage, friendships with complete strangers. Saddest part is, as far as gaming goes it was the best years of my life. At one point we all got on together to play for the last time and nobody knew it.
You know whats crazy bro thats not true because we literally are still talking amongst one another all these years later on a different platform id call that a reunion!! God Speed brother
I’m the exact same age as you man. We’re getting close to 30 now, but remember back in the Halo 3 days when we were the little kids with the squeaky voices? Ah, man…I’d give absolutely anything to go back.
Remember one time in HS we had like 20 people all come together on a minecraft server and defeat a wither.... hearing all the screams and shouts and everything. It's so sad thinking about it now as I become 20 soon. I know I got so much good stuff left ahead.... but that memory of me and my HS classmates doing something like that, and never again.... it hurts so much. Halo makes me feel all those memories again.
Better get going, Six, they're gonna need you down there. Listen, Reach has been good to me. Time has come to return the favor. Don't deny me this. Tell 'em to make it count.
2005 to 2015. Played Halo so much. Memories made. Life long friendships formed. Especially the Halo 3 era. My god what a time that was for Halo and Xbox!
Whatever reason your here, whether it's to relive the memories of the times you played with your friends and family or it's to simply be at peace again. Halo has meant everything to us at some point and did a thing no other game has ever been able to do. Long live Halo
Got damn nostalgic and watery eyes. Hard to believe so much time has passed. The chief is going to out live us all. 1:41:16 will always be one of my favorite tracks
Ya know, it’s 3:37AM right now in Miami, an I searched up the compilation to see if it would help with sleep... but I just find myself remembering, and playing back incredible thoughts I had when playing the games. It speaks volumes when the music of a Game is all that’s needed for u to RE-create that same world in your mind with ease... I’ve only come across two separate universes that are able to do this for me. One being this Right here my baby, Halo, and the other being the menu theme for Black Ops 2... recently “The Mandalorian” has been able to reach that point for me as well
For me I could say the same with The Last of Us. Definitely this as well but I only had played halo 3 and 4 so I can only imagine that time period of the games. Although at family parties back in the day I was allowed to play Halo 2! We literally just did rocket launcher 2 on 2s all night it was insane! But never played the story. Halos music though I believe is revolutionary to all the video game industry. It's an amazing feeling, as if you saw a Halo for the first time in your life, without ever really being there!
I feel a nostalgia for a time I never had. I was the kid who could never quite understand social cues, leaving me lonely for the first thirteen years of my life. The few friends I had were always moving away or switching schools. I was left with a yearning for memories that I could fall back to for comfort, but they were so few and sparse that I eventually began to rid them from my memory because they were always surrounded by other, more lonely memories. My brother would have made things a lot better, but I never got to to meet my brother until I was seventeen. When we finally met, I made sure to make these years the years that we would be able to look back to with nostalgia and fondness. I have made peace with the fact I will never have this again once it is over and we live our separate lives. So I will do my best to cherish and cement these times; completing all the mainline Halos on legendary, watching the world flip out in 2020, experiencing our first job together, introducing him to American culture, listen to him ramble on about star wars while I gush on about Halo, looking on as Kimetsu no Yaiba surpassed One Piece in popularity in Shonen Jump for the first time in forever, beating eachother senseless in Naruto Ninja Storm 4, going insane over MW 2 and 3 veteran spec ops, and so much more. I guess this is just a condolence for everybody who had strict parents, no one to play halo with online, or just didn't have access to this type of stuff in the past. Even if you couldn't make memories before, make them now. "It's finished." "No. 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙬𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙"
I only had 1 friend to play with and there was a time I would play halo 3 split screen 1v1 every day with him. I never played halo online until recently and none of my friends had an Xbox. I just couldn't get enough of goofing off in Valhalla and last resort with my one friend that I haven't been friends with for almost 10 years.
The good old days of having no worries, no responsibilities, and zero care for the world. Just younger us jumping on the Xbox and creating fantastic moments, moments that we never realised would become some of our greatest memories in life. Which would later impact us in the future, Halo is why we are here, as a community. As a family.
1:56:30 Honestly i thought thats halo playlist for sleep and then this started... You can't imagine how fast i woke and uncomfortable i felt, i was scared to look around even
When you know every single line of dialog, every weapon spawn, all skulls every difficulty, and grew up with it, the music is still just as amazing as the first Time you heard it as a kid. I hope one day there will be a halo that was as good as the first 2.
"our duty as soldiers, is to protect humanity... whatever the cost..." "you say that like soldiers and humanity are two different things, were not machines... were just people... anyway ill let you have the deck to yourself" ...she said that to me once, about being a machine..." chief and laskey: halo 4
Almost 30 now, by the rings do I miss those old times just playing Halo, watching the Menu’s listening to the music, the good old days, simpler and easier time in my life where I wasn’t so stressed and tired.
Shead some tears over some of these songs. Shared many games with many brothers in arms... words cannot describe the moments we had playing these games..... glad to have been part of the generation to have seen the rise of HALO
I’m 33 years old. Some of my most cherished memories as a kid are from these games. LAN parties. Coming home from school and playing all night with friends. It was truly a special time. I specifically remember the launch of Halo 2. I just turned 17 and I will always recall driving to the mall to get my reserved copy of the limited edition. My friends and I played for hours and hours. Incredible memories.
Yeah me too but i was play classics videogames, like 007 gold eye, Resident Evil 2 classic, Duke Nukem, all Halo and this games i was played with friends and with my Brother. Bro people say video-games they dont bring goods memories and hobbies.
Ah, the Halo 2 launch…A rare, truly transcendent moment where the gaming community truly came together, no matter how far apart individuals were. Even if we wouldn’t be able to finish the fight until Halo 3, Halo 2’s launch was a night to remember.
Ya know. The music makes every memory crystal clear. The world was so much simpler 20 years ago. Still had its issues, I think it always will. But it wasn't so darn upside-down. What I'd give to go back and appreciate what I had instead of always wishing I had more. Didn't realize I had everything.
I’m 26. Halo was my lifeblood from 2003-2012ish. I grew up with these games, going to the midnight release of most of them; played them for so long, with so many friends. Spent countless hours grinding my ranks, crawling up the leaderboards (hit top 1,000 in Halo 3, my greatest accomplishment), laughing and yelling and just enjoying life. Probably the most carefree and happy moments of my life were spent playing Halo. I can’t properly put into words just how much this series means to me and now integral it was to my childhood and now, my adulthood. I feel like I’m in good company here, though. You all get it. You share those wisps of memory with me. And I’d give absolutely anything for us all to get just one more match in.
@@_Cato_ Thanks man, I'm into my later teens but wasn't allowed to play halo till I was 15. I have a few very close friends who also have a love for Halo and we play on MCC often.
To me its basically the Arbiter saying that Chief is hard to kill and doubts he is really dead. He says the same thing at the start of Halo 3 when Chief has the magnum to Arby's head; pretty much saying "it will take more than that to kill me". It comes full circle when the Arbiter says the same of Master Chief by the end of the game.
My nephew has been getting into the Halo saga and wow, there is always so much lore and magnificent moments. It took awhile for him to understand just how big the rings are.
I remember when my little brother and I would spend countless hours making forge maps. I remember going crazy trying to finish levels on Legendary but then finally beating them after hours of trekking through them. I remember cheering him on as he tried to survive just long enough for me to spawn back in from taking the lead; watching him get better and better. I remember getting angry at my friends for not wanting to "play with a squeaker" but then them loving him for how good he got. I remember you showing your friends all the cool tips and tricks I showed you. I remember getting yelled at for being so loud while we screamed in horror at the Flood levels on weekend nights. I remember saving an energy sword or gravity hammer for you in every mission we could find it. I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with you doing so. Maybe if I did, you wouldn't have fallen so deep into drugs. I miss you, man.
@@liamnacinovich8232 I beat Halo 2 on legendary with a friend as a young adult. Never again. That campaign was so brutally unfair with how they made it where you couldn't respawn. Thank god none of the other halo games are like this. I really wish they would have changed that about Halo 2 for the Master Chief collection. It really makes Halo 2 the worst game in the series when it had the potential to be one of the best.
@@lsporky3567 So, in Halo 2 if you're playing co-op on Legendary (and only on Legendary) and one of you dies, it automatically makes you start over from the last check point. In all other Halo games, your partner just has to go to a clear area with no enemies and you can respawn off of them. In the Master Chief Collection, this is what the Iron Skull does for all other Halo games but it seems to be hard coded into Halo 2 because whether you are playing with the Iron Skull on or off, it doesn't make a difference. Are you saying that when you play Halo 2 Co-op on Legendary, you can respawn off of your partner?
I still remember when both me and my cousin were in primary school, and we got Halo 2 in our hands. We absolutely LOVED it. So much so that we’d replay it over and over again when we had the time. Having pizza and soda while we rescued soldiers from High Charity, played Hide and Seek with the Scarab’s Ultra and trying not to get killed by his energy sword, my screams of joy when I got to play as an alien, both of us RUNNING for it during Flood missions… Good times, good times. I still play the available titles on MCC PC since I don’t have an Xbox, and my cousin’s a PS5 user now. Re-experiencing these games as an adult is truly a journey.
Brothers and Sisters, as i sit here in this lounge, alone and 6 beers in, and with the only people who love me thousands if miles away. I want you all to know that each of you are my brothers and sisters in arms. You aren't alone. If you feel alone as much as i do right now, take comfort knowing that you are apart of something great and truly special. One last drop, one last fight, one last mag, we are together even if far apart. If you need me, reach out. Im here for you.
Coming back to this now, i miss these days. Halo OST just hits like no other, not even my most favorite "normal" music compares to legendary tracks like Halo.
I've searched through many videos that offer the beauty of Halo's music, all of them were missing this sort; this music has a thought provoking aura to it and I'm not sure why.
It really does, sometimes I listen to this track and just think about life, memories I'm fond of and things I regret. Not much brings out my emotions but something about halo does.
The Halo ODST music always gets me in my feels, idk how but I just relate it to my life and it makes me think about my life choices, mistakes, regret, the positives. The ODST music overall is just... you can decide what to rate the music.
I remember I used to play these games all the time with my brother and dad. Never competitive, always the story. We loved being able to play together instead of against each other, so it would just be two of us at a time mowing down every enemy in sight and just generally having a blast. I loved them so much and they turned out to be disappointments in every sense of the word. I still love them of course, but I can't respect them anymore, and every now and then I play Halo and remember who they used to be. I remember the epic times and battles we shared together, how proud we were when we finished CE on Legendary for the first time, everything. It hurts so much. I wish I could relive those days so I would know to never take advantage of them. May the mission never end, fellow Spartans.
Wow... the nostalgia. The hundreds of memories of playing with brothers, friends, and complete strangers. Just the mere fact that even though every single one of us is separate individuals, we still relate to this video. This franchise. Those memories of longing and even sorrow. Begging my parents to let us stay up for one more firefight, one more round of ctf. Damn halo. You got something special. May all of you go along the great journey with godspeed and an iron will
Recently joined Halo and started to play Halo this year. I love the game franchise! It wasn't my childhood when growing up, but I'm glad to see it was other peoples childhood! I'll spend my early adulthood playing Halo and making sure it will be my adulthood game for rest of my life.
I miss being a little girl playing halo with my neighbors without a care or worry in the world hearing this music every Saturday while playing the game gives so much good memories and nostalgia makes me cry every-time man🥲🥲
Halo is just a once in a lifetime franchise. While the change from Bungie to 343 caused some turmoil, each game has a masterful soundtrack which I will cherish for all time. It hits me every single moment that I listen to it. It strikes sudden nostalgia for a time from the recent past yet it seems like centuries have passed. Doesn’t even feel like the same lifetime, yet it was. Human emotions… what a powerful thing it is. A gift and a burden. No matter the age, listening to Halo music makes me feel those feelings I felt many, many years ago now. And that’s a good thing. Even if it brings some tears along with it. Thank you, to you, and all the other channels that have uploaded Halo music.
I may not have played much Halo....but damn memories come back from when I first heard of it and started watching the lets plays. Good times. To all Spartans out there; Keep fighting the good fight, no matter what it is, you're stronger than you think you are.
Martin, is a musician who has left a deep mark on Halo and also in the world of video games. His compositions are epic, deep, melancholic ... creating a perfect atmosphere for each instance of Halo.
The comments on all these Halo OST videos are always very enjoyable in their nostalgia, and I see a lot of us reflecting on the friends we made that have faded away in time. Things aren't the same now as they were when we all first played Halo 3, ODST or Reach. I feel it too. It makes me wish I could find some people to play through the campaigns and custom games again. Maybe we could make some new memories to keep with us for the next 10 years and beyond.
I looked this up hoping to find something to listen to before going to sleep but after reading many of these comments I'm having a bit of a much needed cry. I've always had fond memories of this game with friends, but most of all my older brother. He got the original xbox, as well as halo when it first came out and even though it wasn't part of the job, he always let me play. We would beat the campaigns on legendary, find all the skulls, then do it again. We would have sword and sniper fights on Lockout or Beaver Creek and set the killcount to the maximum of 250 and play all night long. I remember I named one profile "ABusLoadOfKids" and we would laugh when the killfeed said you killed or were killed by ABusLoadOfKids. Unfortunately my brother passed away last June, we we were both excited for Halo Infinite to finally come out since it had been delayed. I finally got around to playing the campaign, and while I had a lot of fun doing so, many of the elements felt a little bittersweet. Anyway, I know this game has an extra special place in many of your hearts, as it does in mine. Sorry for rambling, and thanks for anyone who read
I remember playing 3 player split screen and having my friends over, we even had our own tournaments, those days are gone, long gone, hard to believe its neen almost 10 years since that, all of us on the 360. I miss those days, I wish I could have them back, who knows, maybe one day, eh lads?
i never played much of the older halo games, but i now know what im missing out on, but it doesn't mean im less honored to be part of the halo community than the next person, because halo is a part of my life, and it will continue to be part of my life
As time passes, you realise life won’t last forever and that most art that will be created by mankind is still yet to exist… And thus we won’t be here for the majority of what’s to come. Despite that, we were/are here together to share in this particular piece of art together; Halo truly is one for the ages. I’m glad to have shared this with so many wonderful people, as well as you… whomever is reading this right now. One last salute for Chief, as well as our brothers and sisters all over the Earth and out there in the great cosmic dark. Take me back, one last time.
1:09:10 - 1:14:39 Neon Nights Halo 3 ODST, favorite song of the entire Halo Series, captures the loneliness of being an abandoned soldier, gets you so involved in the plot when that track comes on.
Halo was lightning in a bottle. Will never be topped, will be copied but never replicated. It is timeless, beautiful and only bound by the imaginations of those who experienced it. Truly a masterpiece.
I remember when my brother and I got home from church and played through Halo 3 non stop. Took us 3 and a half hours to beat the game, I wish I could relive that.

Hello everyone. born in 2005, I was a little late to the "Halo Party", which i so wish I could have been a part of. I've played all halo games atleast 10 times, went through every little easter egg i could find in all games, and still feel sad that I didn't have any friends to feel this experience with me (most of them play more modern games, understandably). Listening to this music just brings out a part of me that makes me feel like I'm my own little family of Halo gamers. To make this short, I would just like to say, thank you for being part of my secret little family. Bungie, you have created a part of me that I will never ever forget. Continue your Great Journey everybody.
It’s insane to me the impact this game franchise has had on my life, one of the first games I ever played which my mate introduced me to, and it holds such a spot in my heart And yet many many years later I still play them, I feel like the only time I’m peaceful and content with myself is when I put this on to sleep, the emotion these soundtracks bring out is mental to me as someone who doesn’t show loads of emotion Late at night listening to this is when I feel most alive, I don’t know what causes these tracks to make me so vulnerable but I enjoy it, at the end of the day I can’t make new memories and I’m glad I put them into these bungie era games This is out nowhere but it just makes me want to feel loved like I love these games Sorry to vent like this I just need to free my mind, if you read this I wish you all a happy and fulfilled life I hope you can all find the peace these string of notes bring me

Nice name

Whatever reason your here, whether it's to relive the memories of the times you played with your friends and family or it's to simply be at peace again. Halo has meant everything to us at some point and did a thing no other game has ever been able to do. Long live Halo

Dying to go back to those times. I would’ve never slept.
Bro I’m from Miami as well and enjoy both just like you lmao
Lol it's 3:40AM at night and i am also listening to this masterpiece 😂😂😂

Right there with ya. Last game I played of halo was Reach. Love the OG stuff. Infinite seems to have some of that old spark but I'll wait to see.
The nostalgia of this entire playlist is crushing in it's weight and majesty.
Ya know. The music makes every memory crystal clear. The world was so much simpler 20 years ago. Still had its issues, I think it always will. But it wasn't so darn upside-down.
What I'd give to go back and appreciate what I had instead of always wishing I had more. Didn't realize I had everything.
On the other side of 30, I appreciate so much now what I didn't then. We truly grew up in an incredibly privileged time.
Thanks for sharing Cato.
My Halo journey has only just begun though, and I'm excited to become Master Chief once again this December, come what may.

@@magical_lenny1068 Disregard, found the name. Latter half of the song Cairo Suite on the Halo 2 Part 2 OST
“Hard to believe he’s dead....” -Lord Hood
“Were it so easy.” - Arbiter
Never understood that quote. Was what so easy?
To me its basically the Arbiter saying that Chief is hard to kill and doubts he is really dead. He says the same thing at the start of Halo 3 when Chief has the magnum to Arby's head; pretty much saying "it will take more than that to kill me". It comes full circle when the Arbiter says the same of Master Chief by the end of the game.

I beat Halo 2 on legendary with a friend as a young adult.
@@SeanUCF what are you talking about did you activate any skulls? Bcs we must be playing very different games :/
@@lsporky3567
So, in Halo 2 if you're playing co-op on Legendary (and only on Legendary) and one of you dies, it automatically makes you start over from the last check point.
Having pizza and soda while we rescued soldiers from High Charity, played Hide and Seek with the Scarab’s Ultra and trying not to get killed by his energy sword, my screams of joy when I got to play as an alien, both of us RUNNING for it during Flood missions…
Good times, good times.
I still play the available titles on MCC PC since I don’t have an Xbox, and my cousin’s a PS5 user now. Re-experiencing these games as an adult is truly a journey.

Ambient wonder is always a nice track
The emotions this envokes in me are almost painful. It takes me back like im reliving the joy it brought to me.

How old are u now?

I’m grateful for bungie making halo. It was some of the best times I shared with my father. Makes me tear up a little
It’s insane to me the impact this game franchise has had on my life, one of the first games I ever played which my mate introduced me to, and it holds such a spot in my heart
And yet many many years later I still play them, I feel like the only time I’m peaceful and content with myself is when I put this on to sleep, the emotion these soundtracks bring out is mental to me as someone who doesn’t show loads of emotion
Late at night listening to this is when I feel most alive, I don’t know what causes these tracks to make me so vulnerable but I enjoy it, at the end of the day I can’t make new memories and I’m glad I put them into these bungie era games
This is out nowhere but it just makes me want to feel loved like I love these games
Sorry to vent like this I just need to free my mind, if you read this I wish you all a happy and fulfilled life I hope you can all find the peace these string of notes bring me
