    I'm a filipino and I have no problem accepting that Pacquiao lost fair and square. It was a perfectly timed punch from Marquez. There's no such thing as "lucky punch", Marques had a good read that moment and Pacquiao got too comfortable. That said, seeing Pacquiao still going at it in exhibition matches with younger and bigger opponents is scarily amazing. Seeing him not even phased or depressed by this knockout and kept going because boxing is his life and passion is very inspiring as well. Other boxers would quit after a shocking knockout loss like that but to Manny, it was just another day and onto the next one immediately. It shows that fame and money isn't his first priority but just the joy he finds in boxing.

    • @AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt
      @AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Whenever Pacquiao was going to fight a Mexican (my compatriots) I knew the fight would be tough and exciting... the best way to measure how good you are is when you face an opponent just as good or even better than you and Manny . He went and demonstrated it many times. Needless to say, one of my favorite Filipino fighters and I say this with absolute sincerity.

    • @Leequidude
      @Leequidude 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt I'm amazed by Mexican boxers too. They're tough as gladiators and always give a good show. And what I notice about Mexican boxers is that they like to taunt and do cheap shots but at the very end are very respectful and friendly to Pacquiao as Pacquiao is to them as well.

    • @AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt
      @AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Leequidude Yes. Rivalry (poorly directed by the advertising press) sometimes exceeds the limits of respect and sanity, nothing justifies wanting to harm the opposing fighter with tricks or tricks and it becomes a “dirty” fight. I've seen it even between fighters from the same country. It is the referee who must assert his authority and even disqualify the boxer who repeatedly uses this type of practice (hitting below the belt). To be clear: I do not want a world championship won by a Mexican in such a crude and immoral manner. A fraternal greeting.

    • @Leequidude
      @Leequidude 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt I understand that they do trash talks to hype the fight and invite more people to watch but sometimes it seems like it gets personal. I saw a clip where Barrera punched Morales' face with bare knuckles and I thought that was definitely going too far. Eventually, a boxer will face this person that will be their wake up call as I'd call it. But good job to Marquez, he really is just genuinely strong and tough. I remember me and my family getting worried when Pacquiao stayed on the ground and didn't move for like a minute.

    • @AzuaraRuiz-ot3tt

      @@Leequidude "but sometimes it seems like it gets personal"
      Good point. Yes, definitely; It gets personal (they fought 4 times with each other).
      "We got worried when Pacquiao stayed on the ground and didn't move for a minute."
      I was worried too. I even thought that the medical care was insufficient due to the number of people coming into the ring and I even thought about how to evacuate Manny as quickly as possible and take him to a hospital (the closest one) so that he could receive urgent attention from the doctors there found at that time.
      Now they are both retired and I hope they are both fine (it seems that way, thank God) and their careers in boxing, in my personal opinion, make them legends. All the best.

    You can never be complacent and predictable against a fighter with no-nonsense dedication to his craft, elite Boxing IQ and superb counterpunching like Juan Marquez. He was studying Pacquiao and was calibrating every round that he was making things harder for Pac especially in the later rounds. Even Floyd said JMM was the smartest fighter he's ever fought. And after getting robbed in the previous fight, it made him more hungrier, he focused more on strength and conditioning to add more venom to his punches. Him and Nacho really focused on PACs bad habits, one of which Manuel noticed was Manny's tendency to step forward when he feints making him more exposed and vulnerable. Against smart counter punchers it's a disaster waiting to happen. JMM was deadset on not leaving it to the judges win or lose.

Even in the 5th round after he got knocked down the next exchange he almost ko’d pac with an identical punch but somehow pac walked through it and won the round convincingly. That knockout was aided by the fact that Manny kinda lost footing, as his ankle buckled on top of Marquez’s foot, and he went right into Manuel’s right hook! Sad to witness, but when you are a warrior who loves to slug it out, stuff like this will happen. Great great rivalry!

    You can see on the replay how Marquez steps on his lead foot and throws the overhand right. He did it earlier in the fight too. I'm sure they kept training for that.

      No that doesn't show that. Pacman was the one that moved in. Marquez's foot was pretty much on the same spot during the whole interaction. Both just amazing fighters.
