I have this rig, setup almost the same exact way and while its very versatile it gets a lot of shakes. I hope tilta makes a new ring soon with better build.
Rad Setup. Im in the process of building a similar rig for my Komodo X I have seen some reviews of the Tilta advanced grip not being compatible with the RS3 Pro, you dont seem to have an issue?? Are they fully compatible when the batteries are operational?
Hey Mateo, great review. What is the cable from the battery on the bottom feeding? It looks like it is going to your monitor. How come you are not using the breakout box with D-tap and USB? Cheers!
Can you explain the setup with v-mount powering both the gimbal and the monitor. I can only see on your video that you connect shinobi 7 with a atomosX, from there a 5.5 to d-tap into the power supply module for the ring, but what are you doing to connect to the v-mount battery? There is only one d-tap on the power module right?
Bro, I have a question, I just set up my rig and im using the titla supply module, the atomos battery eliminator and a similar d tap with a smallrig 99 and the monitor will not turn on. Any trouble shooting you had to do/ any idea why my set up is not working?
Can you go over how you change the setting for the left handle? The follow focus is only functional on my right side but I would like to pull focus with my left hand so it’s somewhat balanced
Which weight does your whole setup has? I want to buy the easyrig minimax aswell, but my rig weight is 500g over the max weight of 7kg. Do you think this would be a Problem?
Thanks for making this. I am looking to use this setup with an FX6 how do you think that would work? And 2, how is walking with the Easy Rig and Ring Grip does it cause the camera footage to bob up and down. I am going to have to do a lot tracking and moving while filming for this upcoming project. THANKS!
i mainly use it with the fx3 since i have both and its just a better setup. with the fx6 you just have to mount your monitor on the right upper side since that it is where the ports are for the fx6. walking with the easy rig is nice but i ended up grading my easyrig to the stabil mini max one since its made to remove the up and down wobble
Great video!! I do have a question - if you're using the vmount battery to power the gimbal, can you go without the battery grip on top? Could you remove that piece entirely? Removing that battery grip mount would make this ring a whole lot easier to pack for me.
@@MateoToro Preciate your quick response. Picked up the Tilta Vmont plate and Power Supply Module from B&H this morning. As soon as I installed it the Tilta Ring stopped working. I think the Power Supply Module fried the whole ring :(
@@eddiecastro2050 yeah that’s so unfortunate - i haven’t had any issues with mine for over a year . See if b&h can help you could’ve been a faulty v mount plate
Thanks for the tips, man! Build one with an FX6, but might use an FX3 later on for the purpose you mentioned. One thing I can’t get working with the FX6 so far is the wireless recording. You got that working? If so, I’m curious how. Taking one hand off the grip to press the record button is pretty lame if you ask me
@@MateoToro Perfect! Any experience using the FX3 with the 70-200 and a follow focus motor? With the FX6 it seems just too unstable for the RS3 Pro. After watching your video I immediately ordered the arm clamp, and it certainly is a gem. Rock solid and super flexible. Thanks bro!
I hardly ever use the focus motors but the advanced ring comes with a electronic adapter you mount on the rs3 pro on the side of the gimbal that sends a signal to the left handle and then from there you can just connect your DJI focus motor on to the gimbal
Does the V Mount charge the DJI handle battery when attached like this? Or can you essentially just not have the DJI battery attached at all and it would still work?
@@MateoToro Cool. I'm building a very similar setup. Had the basic ring, had to order the V Mount plate for power. Having the DJI handle still attached is not bad for carrying and converting it to traditional gimbal setup so I'll probably keep it on also.
Thanks for sharing man! I have one question though. The EasyRig camera hook and ball stud that you have attached to the ER quick release and then wrapped around the Ronin handle - is that stable enough? When I turn it I can see how the hook can slip out from under the handle. But maybe the weight of the rig is enough to make sure it stays in place? Have you had any problems? Or do you trust it enough that you could let go with both hands?
@@GoinShoots with a 150wh battery i think a little over a 12 hours and most sets are 10 hours so lasts at least a full day , plus if the v mount dies i can still keep using the ring with just the gimbals battery

Who prefers one handed gimbals? To me this is the deff the easiest way to get that MōVI Pro setup in a budget
Yeah, one handed is fine, but I sure do love my ring grip haha. Definitely worth the investment if you want to do filmaking fulltime!
Great job. That big brick battery looks like it weighs a ton just by itself. I have been impressed so far by the battery life of the RS3 handle grip.
Need this setup someday 🔥🔥🔥
