I went to my silver dealer and purchased all of his available Junk Silver Mercury Dimes. A bag of silver, $48.00 Face Value full of Mercury Dimes!
Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them all in hopes of maybe scoring a better date or two and see how many spots we could fill in a new Dansco Mercury Dime Album!
In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bag. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, and of course any varieties within the years I hunt.

Rob, you were the first coin TH-camr (American) who I followed.
love the bag dump out, but id love to hear the true sound of it, not just the slow-mo sound, maybe real sound first then switch to slow-mo? either way works!

Nice hunt. When I was a kid, I completed an entire set except for the 16-D and 21-D from circulation. My little brother stole my collection and spent it on a baseball glove 🙂

I love the album fills you do. My son is working on his dollars. He filled a President book (P and D) strictly through roll hunting. He's working on Sacagawea and American Innovations now.
Did he find both Grovers?

Really enjoyed the video. I think I am going to restart my childhood hobby. Hopefully I can find a local dealer that will sell me junk silver at a reasonable price. I am starting from near zero so this looks very fun. I'll pick a favorite series and buy higher grade coins for that.

I went to an LCS for the first time today… they had nothing… 2 small boxes of circulated rounds, a small box of junk .50s, and a small box of junk .25… I was sad…

Mercs are my favourite dime, that and Walkers are the only 2 US coins I love. I bought a KG of constitutional for $1500 NZ (About $900) and it was half dimes, mostly Mercs. I got a big range 58 of the 77 dates and managed to pull a VF 1930S and many uncirculated 1942 dimes. Here in NZ, most American coins we get are S mint ones, given the Pacific Influence and The bag had a good range of 30s and earlier. I got at least one VF coin for each 30s date and nearly every date from 1939 onwards had one or more coins grading AU. The half dollars were about 18 Walkers (mostly 40s, but a very worn 1917, 1920, Fine 1927S and a gVF 1935S) and 10 Kennedies all 1964, 4 were D's and one may be enhanced hair, all were AU to borderline UNC.
At today's coin show, there was a vendor who wasn't getting much business, but had the best deals. I wish I had brought a few more $$ for the silver. Dimes were $2.

Wonder how it will look. I know the odds of finding a 1916D in a junk silver bin are as likely as you going clean shaven, but there's always a chance. "So you're saying there's a chance?"

In my opinion silver dimes are probably my least favorite sounding silver coin(they beat war nickels but those were only a few years) but I can’t be the only one that feels that way
Did you check for the 41S large S (FS511)? I found one a few years back.
That hurt my ears😂 like nails on a chalk board every time I see coins being banged together. As if it doesn't happen everytime they have been opened and rolled back up.

Slow mo dump was extremely annoying
At work last Wednesday, I found a 3-cent nickel in a cash drawer. It has a hole right through the third digit of the date. Based on the tiny amount of the digit that remains, it is either an 1865 or an 1885.
Most likely 1865, as the 1885 is a very, very expensive coin. You may want to look at PCGS images for what each of those looks like.
I'm leaning toward 1865. I have looked at images of both possible years. I wouldn't be surprised if it were just an 1865. Actually, that is more preferable to me; since I have no intention to sell any of my coins, extra value attained by rarity is not important. Having an older coin is more interesting to me.
