- In this video I do a long term reveiew or 6 months update on the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38 (H70455533). Is it still the best watch under $500?

I've had mine for a couple of months, it's so easy to wear if you get what I mean. No matter the situation or outfit, it always fits. I usually wear it on the stock bracelet which is very comfortable (shame only 2 micro adjustments), but I also had a custom leather strap made by a local artisan, it's such a strap monster. Can't recommend it enough, anyone on the fence about it go see it in person and you will understand.
I have worn mine now for 6 months straight, my skx013 is jealous, I was hesitant about the h10 without regulation but I cannot believe the accuracy of this Hamilton, -.3 so far. The more I wear it I think the less chance I will wear any of my other watches daily. Great daily driver with a lot of style. You would not regret this purchase. Highly recommended.btw. I have this on bracelet, it's very balanced and comfortable. It suits the watch.
I believe Hamilton and Ball watches are the most underrated companies in the industry.
Hamilton = Swatch group
Hamilton is NOT underrated. It's a highly respected and beloved brand.
The clasp looks fantastic on the Hamilton, what type is it?
A nice, classy, subdued watch! Got a second hand exactly like this one,for a steal! My favorite! Skeptical about 38mm,thought it would be to small, but no,I love it!
This watch wears more like a 40mm watch.
I am not really into field/pilot watches, but this is stunning, beautiful, classy! Great review!
Thank you!
It's indeed a beautiful watch. Really dressy even though it's a field watch.

A great watch indeed that has left my other watches gather dust. I searched for a new watch at around 1000 price range but ended up saving half of it because couldn't find anything that impressed me as much as the Khaki. Depending how I wear it, mine runs 15-30s fast per week, that too impresses me.
Thank you for showing these two side by side. I own the Sinn 556i (the black dial one) and am considering also buying the Hamilton besides both having a similar case shape. I think the Hamilton is different enough in dial layout to be worth being added to a collection already including the Sinn.
Great review. I wonder. What is your leather strap and what is your deployant clasp?
Hamilton is just drop dead gorgeous. I have one, and find it hard to wear anything else in my collection!
Could you add a link to that metal clasp you have on that watch? Looks very classy! Thanks
Awesome watch. Have you looked into the Citizens BM8180-03E. Awesome watch for around $100 USD. I gave some away as gifts and now I want to buy one for myself for everyday beater.
Wearing it as my daily driver. Hard to find any watch that can be really on almost any straps you put on.
Sarb033 is one of the best competitor of this watch however it is not a tool watch
For me depending of the strap or bracelet, 50% sport daily, 50% dressy watch. So you may think of it according to your needs. But one important item, Hamilton’s accuracy is much better than Seiko watches
Why did you choose this watch over the Khaki King? I love the King more than the 38 because the 40mm is the sweet spot for my wrist, but I would really like the 10bar water resistance that the Khaki 38 has.
Both are great watches. But I prefer the smaller case without the crown guards on the Khaki Field. The 100m WR was also a deciding factor. You can't go wrong with any of the 2 watches though.

Water resistance is the basic answer
Nice video. How would the watch wear on a 7.5 '' wrist? The crown is rather large, so I presume it would be ok.
ive been wearing it on a 7.5 wrist. 3+ years, wears very well
Have you taken this watch swimming? Any issues if you did?
Love it's looks and history. If it had a s rew down crown and was 40mm I would have gotten it long ago.....
a great watch - gonna buy it in the next week, I think.
sadly, it's not "under 500 bucks" anymore - here in Germany it retails for around 700€. still worth it if you can find it for 600 imho
Hi, where do you get the clasp from? It looks great
That's the OEM leather strap
In his previous video on this watch, he mentioned that the clasp is from Christopher Ward. The strap is still OEM though.
Thanks Daryn, this is correct. It's a OEM strap with a CW clasp.
after winding and winding... 60 times... still no resistance?? How is that possible... im scared the break it, however i never had a watch that would allow me more than 40-45 x turns..
It’s an automatic watch, you shouldn’t feel any resistance because the spring is made so it can slip inside its casing when fully wound. This allows for the automatic winder to keep the watch fully wound when wearing the watch without risking damaging the mecanism. On a manual mechanical watch, the end of the spring will be attached to its casing so you will feel when it’s fully wound.
If only that crown were smaller/shorter! I simply couldn't wear it because the crown kept digging into the back of my hand.
Also, I found it way too reflective under any lighting conditions.
Lume not good enough for the price (cheap Seiko 5s is a lot better).
Decided to sell it.
Agree! It is very attractive, but I personally feel it's overrated. For that price, lack of AR coating and weak lume should not be an issue.
I bought one of these today, looks like a lot of watch for the money.
I got a sarb017 a year ago and a sarb035 last month! Love them both
If you could only have the Hamilton or the Sinn, which would it be?
I'm currently trying to choose between the two, not sure if the Sinn 556i is worth more than twice the price of the Hamilton.
Depends on what you are looking for:
- Best value for money: Hamilton Khaki Field
- Best build quality: Sinn 556i
Which one you will wear the most depends on a) how much you like the watch and b) how well the watch matches with your dress style.
Have you changed the bracelet of the watch ?
I Love the one with white Dial
Good review, this watch is hard to beat on the bracelet.
They just need a screw down crown, illuminated seconds hand and better lume in general
I do! Which is why I bought one.
nice video. what strap is that on the Sinn?
haha. I posted prior to you turning the watch over. Question answered!
Seems Nice,. Any Lume Shots.
Great as always Thank you😍
Thank you for all the support, means a lot!
That Hamilton is the most gorgeous watch I ever desired
One of the best ever❤
I love my Tissot Visodate 😀
The Visodate is a great watch. Owned one a few years back. Really liked it as well.

GAW
Same man, I love my visodate. I just don’t like the strap it came on
Hi are these designed for extreme weather conditions like heat and snow? Anyone? 🤔
Do not bring the watch in extreme temp conditions according to Hamilton this is 0°C to 60°C
@@KevAlberta 🥲🥲ok
well its like $695 now, $795 if you want the stainless steel bracelet, idk if its still worth it. i should of gotten one a few years ago
This really helped me a lot. I am still deciding between a Sinn 556i and this Hamilton. I am looking for an everyday tool watch that can be dressed up. These two are the best so far with the Tissot Gentleman not far behind. Could you guys give me your thoughts please?
If money is not a problem you could go for the Sinn 556i. Although I do not own this watch every watch collector that owns a Sinn watch speaks highly of the brand (and especially the build quality). You can both dress the watch up or dress it down.
If you are tight on cash then the Hamilton is the option to go for, simply because it is the cheapest out of the three options that you are considering.
If value for money is what you're looking for... I think the battle is between the Hamilton and the Tissot. The Tissot can be dressed up on its metal bracelet or dressed down on a strap. However, due to its dial and its 'shinyness' I think the Tissot Gentleman is more on the formal/dress watch side. The Hamilton can be dressed up or dressed down, but has a more casual look compared to the Tissot. So, which one of the two should you pick? The answer is in your wardrobe (not literally of course). Buy the watch that best matches your dress style. Are you more the casual dressing type kind of guy? Then go for the Hamilton Field Khaki. Does your wardrobe mostly consist of formal and business casual attire? In that case the Tissot Gentleman is your best pick.
Don't fall in the trap of buying a watch that you think you should buy from 'our' point-of-view (or worse: because you think it "should be part of your watch collection"). Buy a watch that you really like and that matches your wardrobe, that way you will wear it as often as possible. Good luck on making a decision Andrew!
Andrew Ng check out the Damasko DS30
@@DutchBulldog Can't ask for a better advice, thanks. Got the Hammy in the end, it's suit my style. It became a very clear choice after your thoughts about the wardrobe.
Andrew Ng great choice! As I said earlier; we should always pick a watch that matches our dress style. I think you simply can’t go wrong with the Hamilton. Wear it in good health for many years Andrew! 👍🏼
It is not easy to combine a tool watch and dressy one however Khaki field automatic seems an excellent choice.
If water resistance has not a big meaning for you you can go with Khaki king 2, it seems more elegance than Khaki Field auto but the water resistance is 50m. King has also day and date functions which are pretty useful for daily activities. However if it is a rotation watch and you would like to wear it weekly basis then you need to adjust the day and date. Thanks for 80 h power reserve if you wear it every 3 days.
Hamilton much better than Sinn

Seiko SARB033 . . .

Lots of elementary grammar mistakes.
I love how its movement is cheap to service and its robust. ETA2824
2824-2 easy and cheap to service, but the c07.611 not so much…….. :-(
