Ennio Morricone was a brilliant man. His music is priceless, timeless, and boundless.
He made just a nice little song for a movie, very good on that, no doubt, but it was the singers who turn the song in the best western music ever, maybe above western movie, beyond westerns limits

Imagine the impact and impression on me as a 8 yr old boy in the 60 "s hearing this broadcast over the television.....your parents mesmerized by the sound and cinema photography of the era !!! Astounding indeed ..not to mention you the good the bad and the ugly again for the 100 th time over 50 years ! Saw it half drunk , stoned and straight ! I'm now 60 and retired military.
He may be gone, but the music will live forever.

I saw the original movie in 1968 in a big real movie theater in nyc. The soundtrack to The Good The Bad and The Ugly sounds incredible in a big theater with a good sound system.
I was 3y old in that time.

When I was aged 16 years I used see this film many times in the Theater in Madras . Now my age is 72. Still I enjoy this MUSIC .

I can't hold back my tears when I hear his wonderful music and see him conducting an orchestra playing the notes that he wrote, that he composed .... and to think that he is no longer there. But his music, the emotions he gave us, will live forever in our mind, in our hearts. Not only do we Italians lose a great artist, our dear compatriot, but the whole world loses a genius of the music.
I had a first lp from him when i was 12 years old, this music is great, have many westerns with his music. R.I.P. your music life forever.

I was in the 9th grade when this hit the radio airwaves. Thought it was incredible then, to this day I find it amazing.
I forget how much work goes on behind the scenes. The people that help make a movie without appearing on screen and the composing things such as orchestras. It's truly incredible... 😮🙂

11 July 2020. 5 days after his death, I watch/listen to this and tears just flow from my eyes.
I remember the water fountain in Las Vegas with this song playing and the lights going with the tune and LOUD. Very powerful ❤ Brings tears to my eyes

Its so difficult to appreciate this marvel of symphonic mastery through the speaker of a cell phone. Not even through a television set not so on a well recorded record through a fantastic stereophonic set. To be in that hall with a full geared orchestra, choir, soloists, must raised you from your seat. And above conducted by the creator of that spectacular music that took everybody by surprised when you realized it was written as a score for an incredible western. Only a real genius can reach those heights. So we have to understand the reaction of an elated public when they were elevated to the aesthetics of such a genius. It was an spontaneous "kiss" from the public to Morricone from shear gratefulness and love. Hearing this on You Tube, on a poor speaker of a cell phone I was moved again from this piece it make me realized that Morricone is the oboe in his compositions, remember the the Mission its the story of the Jesuits in the Reductions of Paraguay and the story of the musical mission of Ernio Morricone. A Beautiful Mission of a saint.
