How to Heal Past Emotions Held in the Body

  • In this video Louise Kay offers guidance on how to heal past emotions held in the body and process old pain, often referred to as the pain body.

    Our bodies hold unprocessed emotions from painful past experiences that we weren't able to fully process in the moment. These unprocessed emotions are stored in the body as blocked energies and can feel like uncomfortable sensations, such as tightness, contractions and heaviness.
    If you meditate and practice presence, your system will begin to process these old emotions by bringing them up to the surface so that they can be consciously felt and release. At this point many people give up their practice, thinking that they're doing their meditation wrong. Remember: if you feel discomfort in your meditation then it's working!
    Follow this simple 5 step formula to heal the past emotions held in your body:
    1. Totally disidentify from the story of 'me' and rest your attention as the witness of the experience. Observe any thoughts that appear but do not give any interest in their content.
    2. Adopt an attitude of pure positivity. I'm grateful for this experience!
    3. Gently enquire into where the emotion / sensation is felt in the body.
    4. Consciously allow your body to totally and completely feel the sensation. Surrender FULLY to it.
    5. Be unconditional with the process. Don't wait for the emotion to disappear, just hold it in pure unconditional love for as long as it remains and use the experience to deepen into presence.

    I am facing since 3 years such a strong anger and sadness , that it feels like never ending . With your guidance i understand now That I don’t have to understand my feelings , only allowing it and not identifying with it . Thank you so much

    I am doing much better now a days. Felt a lot of pain in the last years and burned it by allowing me to cry sometimes. Sometimes i wished to punch and scream, but unfotunatly i don't have a possibility to do this. Now i'am trying to leave the old sories behind altogether, think most of my "karma" is gone. I seem to pick up something new from the collective unconciousness now. Thanks for this advice video. Much love to you.

      One addition: one feels so much lighter, if the own emotional body is cleaner. It's a whole new life experience. So i suggest everyone to "work" on this. Love to the world. Love yourself. Be kind with yourself.

    Thank you for this 🙏🏻 I tried to join the Silent Sitting today ( Saturday) and was there 5 minutes before the meeting time and was instructed to wait for the host to let me in. After 45 minutes I turned left the meeting as I was still waiting to be admitted via Zoom. Do I have to try and join earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled meeting time? Thank you!
